Bank loses all of family’s possessions after wrongfully foreclosing on home

Do the police ever do ANYTHING about this crap? this is breaking and entering at the very least, why do these banker pricks get away with this stuff?

watch the video, it shows the document, with the wrong address on it...the contractors were given the wrong address..

personally, this is something I wouldn't want to settle out of court! it wouldn't be about the money, I'd want blood, but well, would have to settle for dragging the bank (or who every originated that paper with the wrong address or both) through a painful, very embarrassing, hopefully long court hearing!! maybe then the banks would start being a little more careful before they go and destroy someone's life!

Wells Fargo is a horrific bank, google the mounting customer complaints....

One guy claimed the bank screwed up and illegally withdrew a large some of money from his parents account, because WF claimed he owed child support money, after the state withdrew the money from his WF account. WF again withdrew from his parents unrelated account...I will post the link in a sec. This guy has a whole website exposing them.

Perhaps this sort of thing needs to be re-thunk.

Presently a bank can take possession of real property and then take the personal property within as a justified part of their compensation? What ever happened with Bailment Laws. ?

A city or Country government can take possession of real property when the taxes aren't paid for 2-3 years, and also convey possession of the personal property within to the new owner (Sold at auction)?

In both instances they result of the sale of these real properties will likely bring much more than what is owed, yet these funds are kept by the bank/government as excess profit.

This system is wrong and cannot be justified. For one thing any excess profit from real property should be returned to the mortgagee/tax payer. The personal property should always be held for a reasonable time (1 year) to be returned to its rightful owner, less regular storage fees.

Finally no real property should be conveyed without a fully advertised public auction. None of this back door transfer stuff and would raise the hackles of any righteous person.

(First), I hate banks. Second, I don't see the big deal. A mistake was made that resulted
in lost property. We have the court system for that. You file a lawsuit. You present evidence.
A judge decides compensation....An unhappy circumstance, but no big deal....it's an
everyday thing....

I know you weren't trying to stereotype anyone and neither am I. You are perfectly right in suspecting a criminal element in this. There was and is a huge pool of hired thugs to do the "repossession" business for the banks. I knew a guy who repossessed cars for a few different banks in town. WF was among them.He would take a persons car and drive it around for weeks before turning it in and used these vehicles to accomplish
the other crimes he was involved in.

Sometimes he sold them to a third party
I know he had a lot of information on people he was not supposed to have because he would threaten people
who didn't even owe any money to pay HIM in cash or the bank was going to repossess their vehicle. Sadly enough they complied most of the time. I knew him because he was a friend of a former boyfriend. And all of the people he knew were just like him. Said boyfriend was also his lawyer. He had enough of this guy's behavior and told him one day: "Just because I'm your lawyer doesn't mean you can run amok every day commiting multiple felonies in FRONT of me!" I would have turned him in but I was very pregnant at the time and this guy.............
was baaad news. Said boyfriend turned him in about a month after telling him to cool it.


INaddition to all of this he was an undercover informant for the Hennepin County sherriff in Minneapolis. And the BCA in St. Paul. He would extort money from people by threatening to have their houses raided or be put in jail. They mostly complied, sadly. A lot of people hadn't done anything wrong ; but they knew who he worked for and that their lives could become very difficult if they didn't pay him to go away, Working for LE gave him yet another way to attain info about people that we wasn't supposed to have. I was so happy when he was arrested and put in jail. It was a big story in the newspaper. The article had a nice 3x4 picture of him so the people could see his face and real name. It became even bigger when more people reported being blackmailed
by him but didn't know his real name because he workd under an alias.

Ithink this may have been such a big story because of a multiple felon having access to the personal info on so many people--and he attained this info through the banks and LE--People were really steamed. There were other things he was involved in but the paper didn't print them and I can't talk about them here. I heard he was still behind bars as of last year.

As for this couple's belongings , I dont think they were auctioned. I think the conversation went like this: "You do the job and I'll let you keep whatever you want" Isn't the sherrifs office supposed to serve an order to vacate notice? I think once they got in the door they probably knew what was going on and didn't give a s###. I feel so bad for these people. I know what it's like to own my house that someone in my family built. I own it free and clear. The property taxes are a pain in the a## though. 3,200 a year! Owning a house is a huge responsibility. There is always something to be fixed or worked on 7 days a week, and my house is in really good shape. If this were to happen to me I would feel seriously violated. Not only would they have hurt me, they would have hurt my family by default. My heart would break.

There is a guy in my old neighborhood who is identical, this person was a criminal informant for Baltimore City Police Department. On Maryland Judiciary website this person had 81 crimininal counts dropped, and never convicted of any crimes. In addition to his drug dealing, his prostitution ring, and repossesion of cars...ect (btw, he stole my husbands Honda Accord) his father was directly under the police chief.

Once he was caught choking a woman on the street over from us, around that time there was a hidden cover up of prostitutes being strangled to death in the area, one being the police chiefs step daughter...who this guy would sell pills to...I have my suspicions.

WF and other banks would have no problems finding people like this, they are in no short supply...

i dont understand this at all. a bank hired some people to basically break in claim stuff that isnt theirs, and steal the property? if it was on the high seas wouldnt they call them pirates?
really i dont get this and nothing was done, no one is in jail at all? just because they say oops was mistake , wtf is that.
im pretty sure hiring someone to commit a criminal action (whether they thought legal or not) is against the law , grand larceny? i dont know, i would call the police and be like oh so if you arent arresting them your saying its ok if i go smash some windows in and steal some money it will be ok then? im pretty f ing sure they are not going to say yeah its ok go nuts....well giving the state of police atm , maybe they would say go nuts, just so they could shoot up the place.

Think pretty much everything to be said has already been said about this. The only thing i would add is that, on a more positive note, the resulting compensation pay out that should ensue should ensure the family involved get to live mortgage free for the rest of their lives.

Mind you, as it is a bank, they probably have a loop hole........
