Old locked threads coming up... why?

I am just curious- why is there a thread from this board at the top of the Recent Posts lists that was started in 2004 (I think) and has it's last post dated a year ago, before being locked?

Is that a wierd glitch in the system, or is that done sometimes intentionally for some reason?

Mods bump threads that have specific messages or issues that they sometimes feel appropriate to bring up again.

They're just reminders.

I find it a bit frustrating though, because the issue brought forward catches my attention and spurs me to want to discuss it, to analyze and put into words my own thoughts on it, and I cannot because it is locked.

But whatever, that is not a complaint, just some user feedback.

It may be irrelevant to this particular question, but I've seen a number of instances in the past two or three days, where a thread gets bumped up in my "Favourites" listing, even though the last post isn't particularly new.

They've all been in the "ATS Debate" forum, if that helps.

They sometimes come back...or it could be omen to say time to make new thread!
