You are absolutely correct. It is all but a certainty. It will probably happen in October and will be a "wag the dog" moment in President Obama's election campaign.

It is a terrible, terrible thing, in my opinion. I feel bad for the Iranians, although, I disagree with them on numerous issues as well.

I remember a time when Canada would only get invovled as peacekeepers.
I remember a time when US businessmen traveling abroad would take courses on how to act "Canadian" so to avoid trouble, everyone loved Canadians.

I remember when Chritchen told GW to jump in the lake, over the Iraq Lies.

Then the Lapdog Harper came along.......

Now Canada is just another Butt-Hole Bully Country.

I don't think everyone at the UN agrees and although the concept of the UN is ideal, I have less and less faith in them as time goes on. The western nations have more pull than any other represented country. If the UN is supposed to be a true representation of the member states, then all member states should be represented equally.

I couldn't agree more. I too believe that's where the U.N. is failing. There are very few countries in this world on common political ground and the sooner we deal with that reality the better off we'll all be. There are differences that will never be reconciled because of politics and religion and we need to accept that fact. How do we know which ones they are? Look at history. If 2 opposing ideologies have a long history of never getting along, they never will. That, and use common sense.

I can't blame Canada for doing what they did. Now, they need to take it a step further and stop pretending that Iran will play ball with the rest of the world, which they don't have a history of doing, and just leave them alone. Keep an eagle eye on them, by all means, but stay out of their business if they don't physically get in anyone else's. From what I can tell, they're not warmongers. They just talk a lot. If anyone here can show me proof that they have a long history of killing people in other countries, like America for example has done, by all means, set me straight. And I'm talking about the modern world here, not things that happened 400 years ago that have no relevance to the modern era. And if they kill their own people because of ideological differences within their own ranks? So what? What business is it of anyone else's what they do to each other when every time they open their mouths to talk to someone else, it's full of hate?

Iranians, if you don't like your government, rise up and overthrow it in much the same fashion that the Egyptians did not too long ago. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's more common people then people in charge AND their military combined. The rest of the world? Sit back and watch. Don't get involved. Pretend you're watching an action movie. You're good at that.

It's THEIR problem. Not anyone else's. Besides, if you really think that an uprising will result in the deaths of, say, 80% of the population, you're delusional. They may be in the middle east, but they're not Afghanistan. They are a civilized country and if the western world has a problem with that because their politics and/or religion doesn't coincide with their beliefs. Too bad. They need to get over themselves.

No country on this planet is perfect and if someone else's imperfections bother you, QUIT DEALING WITH THEM. It involves not doing anything. It can't be THAT hard can it?

Why hasn't Israel disclosed anything about their nuclear weapons?

Why hasn't Israel allowed UN Inspectors into their own nuclear facilities?

Why hasn't Israel signed the Non-Proliferation treaty?

Why is Israel the LOUDEST voice against Iran, and yet they aren't even part of the treaty and refuse to cooperate themselves? Why so hypocritical?

And finally, do ANY of you realize that in order to deploy nuclear weapons, you need an entire infrustructure dedicated to creating a delivery method, which Iran simply does not have.

It's quite literally a 'conspiracy theory' by Israel to keep claiming Iran wants to make nuclear weapons, because there's absolutely NO EVIDENCE for it.

And all the claims that Iran wants to 'destroy' Israel? They're all strawmen arguments and claims. Iran hasn't attacked another nation in hundreds of years, ok? And basically, Israel's claim amounts to "b-but but you really believe they don't want to destroy us?".

YES we believe Iran, ok? They haven't attacked anyone. They don't have the infrustructure needed to weaponize a nuclear payload. And if you think 'religious ramblings' coming from Iran's religious portion of leadership are relevent to foriegn policy at all, maybe you should witness some of Israel's religious ramblings before you have a laugh and remember that NEITHER side's religious crazy fundamentalist nutjobs are dictating foriegn policy.

For context, here, have a look at some of Israel's fanatical racist and schizophrenic religious dialogue.

rense.com...

After reading that, ask yourself, who is really the crazy rogue nation here? We actually only know of ONE nation, in the entire world that is as uncooperative, nuclear armed, and fanatically racist as Israel claims, and that nation is Israel itself.

Investigate for yourself, reader. Israel isn't a 'saint nation'. Why are we virtually paying all their military bills and why is AIPAC like a giant octopus in our government? Look at what's really going on here.

And as for Canada? Pfft. Who isn't surprised. It's a spineless action, from a so-called 'peaceful nation'. Canada is as bought-out as it gets.

I don't think Canada is falling in-line with American foreign policy. I think Canada is trying to protect its representatives from possible attack by foreign invasion. It would cause friction should Israel attempt to go for a bomb run, or the US.

There's only one logical reason I can think why Canada would terminate diplomatic ties abruptly without provocation. A precursor to war.
