Why do I have to pick between a world where one guy can own virtually everything and everyone else has nothing, and a world where no one has anything because the government owns everything?

Both sound like crappy paradigms where I won't have anything nor have access to the fruit of my own labor.

Why do I always have to pick between outright corporate fascism or outright full blown communism?

Can't I just have freedom?
What's wrong with our society when 'freedom' is a mirage, a pipe dream?

Our system is broken. I think the best we can hope for is a collapse, and pray that out of the ashes rise, reasonable human beings to take the lead.

Agreed muzzle.

They want to put an artificial cap on how much money people can make in corporations, and how profitable a corporation can be, and then on top of that, further penalize them with higher taxes. That is on top of all the other legislative bureaucracy and regulations they have piled on to business.
Was just watching Biden at the DNC and while he talks a good game his speech was just full of bs.

Yeah I just watched Biden also. Same sentiments here.

Obama is on now and it's more of the same.

All emotional and total propaganda based. No actual real discourse on the real problems we are facing, just constantly avoiding the real issues and talking about mostly relative subjective things like "how you feel about your country".

From what I can tell it is essentially designed to garner support blindly without any real underlying philosophical deliberations.

Nice sign of things to come, i wouldn't worry about it now, i would worry about the 2020 DNC where a majority of delegates will outright suggest radical left wing government, i mean they are implying we end capitalism. I am not a right winger but holy jesus they missed the whole point.

it is complex because they made it that way , it was never that way before the Reaganomics came to be, look it up and check it out. Loop holes and such, such as tax laws investing rules CEO easy outs , the corp is going down but the profits are safe so is retirement packages, it is only now that we are seeing er hearing just how much they can walk away with when the ship goes down. Is it fair or is it big bizz?
here is a link that gives it up
www.econlib.org...
I think this sums it up quite well from the link

Any evaluation of the Reagan economic program should thus address two general questions: How much of the proposed policy changes were approved? And how much of the expected economic effects were realized? Reaganomics continues to be a controversial issue. For those who do not view Reaganomics through an ideological lens, however, one's evaluation of this major change in economic policy will depend on the balance of the realized economic effects.
ya tax laws and loop holes, who's left holding the bag?... the small guy

"Ban profits" is not a liberal position and its not a democratic position. Its a communist/socialist position. I thought people who say the Democratic Party is being taken over by communists are paranoid...but seeing this video, Im not so sure anymore.

Well I don't think the history of what a particular side of the fence is applicable anymore
Just goes to show you though that they didn't evolve, they just got hijacked!
