This is the second thread I see about this narcissistic piece of garbage.

How else did Oprah get rich. She hired most of her crew and helpers from mexico offering them a place to say. Room board and 2 dollars per hour wages. Now she's just basically revealing her secret. We should learn from the pro's and take full advantage of it. 1 dollar US has the power of 50 dollars to a worker in china, philippines or india fyi. You think I'm joking but I'm not.

At least she is telling the truth. Unlike in America where they claim all the outsourcing is because of taxes. Despite the fact that most large corporations pay very little in taxes.

Its about slave labor: cheap labor , no benefits, no worker rights, no child abuse concerns, no overtime, etc.

She is right, If you want to compete than you better match your competitors in price and quality.

So you have two options:
1. The third world countries adopt or are forced to participate in first world country workers rights,benefits,regulations,etc
OR
2. First world countries adopt third world country non workers rights,non benefits,non regulations,etc

Since the corporations are multinational and they run the world gov't guess where we are all heading. Option 2 and it looks like with the economy we are on our way.


The people need to wake up and decide if we are better off in a global economy?

Thanks Amanda, for stating the obvious. I don't see why her weight or looks have anything at all to do with this issue. I know that some overweight people have thyroid conditions that make it extremely difficult to lose weight.
I find it interesting that so many slip off-topic, and base their vitriol on her looks as much as her statements, and from what I have read it seems her $2 a day comment was taken out of context.

Well it seems a lot she has been saying lately on the same subject has been taken out of context but in truth she is probably starting to think a political career is a good idea.
This is the 3rd time in as many weeks were she has said something
Last week it was on the lines that 'poor people should drink less and work more' I guess no rich people drink.
Lets be honest if she lost her INHERITENCE tomorrow then she would be on benefits and the state of her she would struggle to do any work that poor people have to do. She has lost touch with reality.
You can have all the money in the world but it can't buy CLASS. She has none.

This fat witch really has no idea what she's talking about, but there is no moral reason why a business owner shouldn't be able to pay workers $2 a day.

Nobody is forcing anyone to accept $2 a day. It is up to the individual. If you don't want the job for $2 a day, then don't take it. And if the business owner is unable to find anyone to work for $2 a day, then he or she will need to increase the daily wage.

Why don't we just force everyone to make $200 per hour? Would that help the economy?

Perhaps if she went to work for $2.00 a day like she proposes everyone else does, she could see how that really works out. Maybe she's going to feel the heat soon with all the talk of the 'mining bust' in the air, the huge slowdown of China (Don't forget China has been buying up land and resource companies in Aus like mad).

I think she was talking about bringing in 'imported workers' as a 'stopgap' for the apparent 'skill shortage', in other words bring foreign workers in on contract basis, pay'em cheap, treat'em mean, and pack'em back.

Hopefully something will be done about Africans having to work for 2$ a day now that she has brought it to everyone's attention.

A slice of cake can cost more than $2 meaning Marie Antoinette was more sympathetic to the poor than this woman!

I don't think its a money issue. usually people with lots of money have no concept of the value of anything. she looks like a nice person, she probably feels that money is not the end all thing to have. theres more to life than money. seems to me that native Africans are happy people. their core values are family,food,god. whats wrong with that?
