You are correct about the censorship.. But I see you posting on the boards almost daily.. It's not like anyone is keeping you here.. Just saying.. If you think it is so bad just log out and don't post anymore..


The analogy I see thrown about is that your in ATS house and you must follow their rules as a guest in their house.

My only problem with that is as Sinny said, the rampant censorship, even on topics that are CURRENT political issues, Obama using Harlod and Kummar as an example could get you censored on here.

The way I look at it is that ATS does get revenue from us via ADs, so they ask us to see some pretty offensive adds from time to time.

Such as asking us to Sign a petition to attack IRAN.

Its a bit hypocritical to censor social issues, while asking us to ad support them with some ads that at times are worse than the social issue they will censor.

Its a bit mercenary of them that ideals go out the window when it comes to ad revenue.

I do not begrudge ATS ads, all websites have them.

My problem is with willingly making money off of us while stifling open discourse when it suits them, and than turning around and saying their slogan is Deny Ignorance.

Free and open Discourse is the glue that holds a free society together, ATS has a right to censor what they wish, just as we have the right to not come here as well.

Id simply wish they would change their slogan as its blatantly hypocritical at times (adds to attack iran, how is that denying ignorance?)

Do both of you actually 'hate' people with adblock? Is this something that actually upsets you? Do you go to people's houses, use their internet, see they have adblock and then go into a fit of rage? But really now, why even waste the time to give your energy towards thinking about people who use adblock? Why let it affect you negatively?

I recommend that you stop worrying about how other people are utilizing their internet experience.

Yes, I recognize the slight hypocrisy here, as I'm letting your negativity affect me, and thus me express concern with how you utilize your internet experience. But I can no longer sit aside as negativity continues to spread through this world. It needs to stop. People need to learn how to be compassionate, caring people again. People need to be made aware of how they are utilizing their energy and their thoughts. Negative thoughts produce negative energy creates a negative world. We can change the world by choosing to switch to positivity and love.

because frankly thats the EXACT same thing...

I can honestly say I have NEVER clicked an ad on the internet, I just dont do that.

I don't need more programing thrown at me at every turn, consumerism at its worse which could arguably be the source of ALL of Americas current problems.

I know what you mean. My youngest "caught" the running frog or monkey or whatever it was in an ad and clocked on it.. I wound up reloading my operating system. Stupid ads.
However, we all benefit from ATS having these ads ( I know you know) . Its free for us to get on here and babble and complain.. and I find that hard to gripe about.

Advertising is the money that feeds the site but it is the content that brings people here. Much of the present content is trash and spam by people who don't give a hoot about the site's motto. If there is a problem with a shortfall in revenue, either they should stop the spam or stop spending what they have.

We provide the content, they get paid from advertising. Clicks are good, but money is made from ads shown even if we don't click. That is why "adblockers" are not permitted when visiting.
