Just 20 minutes of your time, for a lifetime of enlightenment

He also has a few things to say about his own party.

I think if we don't come togerther as Americans, and take our county back from the ones that buy our government, we are in for a very rough ride.

I have had a post on this subject marinating in my brain for months now, I think the time is right to formulate my words in a coherent manner. And in such a way as not to offend or turn you off.

But to make you RISE UP in defence of your counry.

Our country NEEDS us right now, maybe more than ever. It is screaming in pain and only the blood, sweat and tears of Americans can and will act as a salve.

Will you answer the call?

I will.

Watch for The Tie That Binds, coming soon!!

This sounded to me like he was "ripping everybody a new one", and deservedly so.

Might I say that he had very little to say with which I do not agree.

It is about time more people woke up and realize the system has gone off the rails.

I don't know just how we can get our government back, but I know it must be done.

Yeah, even a 30 year veteren of the GOP can see what is going on, and I think this will be the Civil rights movement of our time.

It has already started with the Tea Party and OWS.

They are on the same side, and don't realize it.

Yet.

Five minutes in, and the only ripping he's done is on the republicans. Your title is kind of misleading

They have both been castrated. Both the tea party and ows started out with great ideals. Neither one made it past the first week without becoming pawns of the left or right. Worthless

It is a 30 year veteran of the GOP having an honest discussion of what he sees from the INSIDE. The vessel that transports the message is unimportant, heed the message.

Although I get the feeling that for you, if it doesn't come from Faux, it isn't true.

I am sorry for you.

This guy is shining the light of truth, and you close your eyes to stay in the dark.

This is good, makes it easier for those whom wish to act to move past the ones that sit with their eys closed.

I agree, but the seeds have been planted. The root issue of both causes has not been addressed in a coherent and focused manner.

The ONE issue that binds them, and all Americans together.

The Government that has become a monstrosity that belongs to the highest bidder, and it MUST fall.

He rips the Dems too, watch the whole video.
He rips them for cowing to Pharma in regards to the Affordable Health Care Act.
He lays the blame (and rightly so imho) for the 2008 economic collapse on the Clinton administration and their refusal to regulate derivatives.
Is there anything there with which you disagree?

Does he not speak the truth?

Good video - S+F for posting it. BOTH parties need to watch it. Just a few seconds in he makes perhaps a most obvious and truthful statement: BOTH parties are captive to corporate loot. I would only that when they speak of the 'religious right', that it's not truly religious, it's only intolerant using religion as an excuse for their bigotry.

BOTH parties need to watch it

And this is the root of the matter, both are parties on the take, two sides of the same coin.

And that coin comes with strings, from the big banks on Wall Street.

We need to take our country back!!

Wow! Did you even watch this video before you posted it under this thread title, or is that your real interpretation of what you saw?

If he ripped anybody a new one, it was the TP/GOP and their obstructionist tactics in congress. Actually, I'd say he gutted the TP/GOP in this interview.

As far as the democrats were concerned, he said that the democrats had become complacent until they realized that they had lost three elections in a row, ( I think he meant 2 with Reagan and 1 with Bush Sr.) at which time they started looking to the same corporate donors that had led to the republican's success.

In other words, the democrats sat on their haunches thinking that it would be the voice of the people that kept them in power while the republicans, along with the 3 amigos (namely Abramoff, Norquist and Reed.) were literally changing the game to one where money, (corporate donations) ruled the day.

At this point, I think he is implying that both parties are now beholding to corporate interest over that of the people as a matter of political survival. This is why I am a firm believer that if we are ever to regain a truly representative government, we must first repeal the "Citizen's United" decision and all paid lobbying must come to an immediate end.

Anyway, after that it was an absolute gutting of the TP/GOP and almost every single thing they have done or tried to do since gaining any influence in congress. He couldn't have been any clearer if he had put the TP/GOP, along with the neo-conservative evangelical right wing movement, on the NSA's terrorist watch list.

I find it hard to believe that any intelligent person could misunderstand the intended message of this speaker to the extent that it would be deserving of a thread title such as the one you posted, but I guess that explains why progressives and conservatives are so far apart in their understanding of the world around them.

Go figure!

Absolutely, BOTH parties ARE beholden to their corporate masters, and have lost the ability to govern the people.

I think our understanding is excactly the same. My wording for the title was deliberate and targeted. It is also true, as he places blame for the 2008 economic crisis on the Clinton administration, and blames Pres. Obama for succumbing to the pressures of big Pharma in the drafting of the Affordable Health Care Act.

These are the things that all Americans, left, right or center, need to hear. Their government is bought and paid for by the heighest bidder.

Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, Green party, blue, pink or purple. It doesn't matter anymore.

On this, I couldn't agree more.

This dude has that same monotone speaking voice as Keanu Reeves and Ben Stein and it's a little painful to listen to him.

That said, I love what he's saying. Everything is true. Our current party system is more than broken. It's a silly joke that we continually cling to.

Something has got to change.

Something has got to change.

And that change will only come from the bottom up. It won't be elected in.

It will have to be our version of the Civil Rights movement, civil disobedience on a massive scale.

Its the only way to get our government back.

The Voters Rights movement. Where is MLK Jr. when yoiu NEED him......

I have a feeling, I wish there was a way to see how many have viewed the video.

And then turn away in disgust, because its not what they want to hear.

OWS is not on the side of the Tea Party or they would have joined in when the Tea Party opposed the Obama socialism. OWS is mostly made up of people on the left, radicals, communists, drugheads, hippies of all generations, old communist hippies, anti -war radicals such as Code Pink, anti-capitalist corporation haters and people who demand direct democracy. There were some homeless mixed in but I think it was only for the free food. A few T Party and some Ron Paul supporters but not that much. Even the Neo Nazis joined their team and so did Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.

But they are on the same side when it comes to GOP/Dem corporatism. Both OWS and the Tea Party are fed up with a government that sells out to the highest bidder. Its become a proxy war of buisness interest, and the public have become hapless victims.

We must unite behind our common interest, the interest of the common man for the common good. The corporate elite have taken you government, what are you going to do about it?

BTW, did you watch the video?

I have supported the OWS movement since it's inception and I have absolutely no use whatsoever for the Tea Party. Just because we agree on a single issue doesn't mean that we should unite, because other than that single thread of commonality, we're as different as night and day.

I did indeed watch the entire video and other than pointing out the fact that both parties are now beholding to corporate interest, the guest speaker depicted the TP/GOP as one of the most destructive forces ever seen within the American government. IMO, this was the primary message to be derived from this interview. Why in the hell would anyone from OWS care to unite with an organization such as this?

On the other hand, I for one will do everything in my power to see that this TP/GOP group of delusional lunatics is denied any power whatsoever in the future of American politics.

Screw Grover Norquist, Screw Ralph Reed, Screw the Tea Party and Screw the GOP!!!
