Plants certainly reacts to music especially flowers,

Did you know that your plants respond to music the same as human beings do? It has been proven scientifically through many experiments that plants thrive on music, though there are some who do not agree with the theory. Gardeners, however, have no doubt that fading flowers get a new lease of life by music and flowers blossom in their fullest glory listening to music. In 1973, Dorothy Retallack's book The Sound of Music and Plants based on scientific experiments created ripples.

www.musicforyourplants.com...

Not only they grow faster but they have the same behaviour as humans when they hear music...and even flowers are dancing.

Retallack began her experiment at the Colorado Women's College in Denver. Using three separate laboratories containing the same species of plants, Retallack began her experiment. Piping in different types of music to each facility, she recorded the daily growth of each plant. The results were quite surprising. The plants in the laboratory where music was played daily for three hours a day grew twice as large and became twice as healthy as those in a music-free environment. On the other extreme, plants in the laboratory where music was played for eight hours a day died within two weeks of the start of the experiment.

Dorothy Retallack tried experimenting with different types of music. She played rock to one group of plants and, soothing music to another. The group that heard rock turned out to be sickly and small whereas the other group grew large and healthy. What's more surprising is that the group of plants listening to the soothing music grew bending towards the radio just as they bend towards the sunlight.

This experiment encouraged many individuals and organizations to exercise the act of playing music to plants. These connoisseurs of music warn you about the sort of music that you play. The plants will grow better if you play soft soothing music of old era instead of loud rock music of Gen X.

The noisy rock music will only make the plants grow feeble and sick. Preferably, play Mozart, Bach, or Beethoven to make your plant grow better. Another important point that we can pick up from Retallack's experiments is the duration of music. If you are keen on playing music to your plants, keep the time limit to be about three hour. This will make the plants grow healthy and properly. An overdose of music can seriously destroy the plants.

Although music is not an absolutely proven factor in plant development, several studies, along with Dorothy Retallack's groundbreaking series of experiments, have aided the musical development theory. If you are interested in exploring this option with your own garden, consult The Sound of Music and Plants or other resources to ensure you expose your plants to the optimal type of music for the appropriate amount of time.

Yes flowers dance when they hear music.

Horticulturists and enthusiasts have believed for many years that talking to plants helps them to grow and flourish. The idea that "sound energy" can affect the growth process has resulted in numerous experiments with music. Once flowers are cut from the plant they no longer respond to stimuli, but flowering plants, such as fruit-producing crops, have been shown to do so. Critics of the theory believe that the improved plant health is a result of better care from the music-playing caregivers, who are more conscientious than others ar Read more: How Does Music Affect Flowers? | eHow.com www.ehow.com...

I believe that flowers helps us to heal when we are sick.

The epigenome is a portion of our DNA differentiated from the genetic code. The study of epigenomes is most commonly known as epigenetics. The Greek prefix “epi” implies features that are “on top of” or “in addition to” genetics; thus epigenetic traits exist on top of or in addition to the molecular basis for inheritance. This topic is widely researched in the metaphysical world, as you might imagine, since it is only by viewing the body as a multi-dimensional energy system that we begin to approach how the soul manifests through molecular biology.

By vibration ...when they hear music,

Vibrational medicine is one of the first scientific disciplines seeking to integrate science and spirituality. The study of epigenetic can lead us into a deeper understanding of our own physical and spiritual existence, due to the fact that the epigenome has been shown to mutate throughout an individual’s life time, and, similarly, to be affected by positive and negative experiences. Research into epigenetics is helping us understand various behaviors and addictive patterns previously thought to be static within the DNA structure of the individual.

Even with their body of light.

All forms of life resonate on energetic wavelengths. Plants, animals, humans and planets are interconnected within a greater spectrum of energy. Progressive healing models are researching the multi-dimensional phenomenon of our physical as well as emotional bodies. Understanding the full picture of our life-force, as well as our emotional and mental health, opens us to a dynamic field of study and practice known as Vibrational or Energy Medicine. Flower Essence Therapy is one such medical model brought to our attention by the late Dr. Edward Bach in the early 1900s. Ahead of his time, Dr. Bach understood the synergy between emotion, mental constructs, the physical body and the soul’s karmic template. His well-documented work has proven a gold mine and serves as a pioneering inspiration in the field of Vibrational Medicine. His work has opened the door to our understanding of how emotional dysfunction may hinder the progress of wellness. We now have a model of Energy Medicine that has been well-documented for nearly a century. A Flower Essence is a living, energetic medicine made from the biological imprint of the living plant’s vibrations in water. Flower Essences are created and preserved in pure spring water and a preservative, most commonly brandy (however, vinegar, vodka or glycerin can be substituted for sensitive individuals). Flower Essences are taken orally under the tongue, applied to the body, or made into a spray. When a person places a few drops of a flower’s essence under the tongue, the energy of the flower, vibrating at its own special frequencies, floods one’s aura. The flower’s vibrations are now within the body/aura’s vibrations and the flower’s healing essence will harmonize the body/aura vibrations to its own special healing needs. Each flower carries within its plant signature, or healing message, an attunement to the human body. When the needs of the individual are met by the healing qualities of the flower, a unique resonance of light and healing occurs. Flower Essences bring the individual into balance with the subtle properties of nature and thereby with their own embodiment potential.

continued from above

Flower Essences have the ability to alter epigenetic processes by energizing the body’s ability to gently shift the static and broken aspects of the soul’s evolution. Once Flower Essence therapy has begun for an individual, profound shifts in consciousness may occur, allowing for a rejuvenated experience of freedom and health. Unlike herbs and supplements, Flower Essences have the unique ability to alter both physical and psychological aliments. Since we are all linked on the vibrational spectrum, the energetic imprint of flowers has a profound effect on us spiritually.

I'd have to agree, my plants react well to stimulas, my Lime plant must like the TV show the Mentalist or Dog the bounty hunter, as over the last year when they haven't been on its last 6 leaves are now down to one, and it hasn't flowered or podded for nearly a year, but now the new series are on here in the UK its covered with buds.
Maybe I should move it out of the kitchen into the front room so it can watch

I thought that the best stimulus for them is music.

Maybe if you put some music.

We can live without flowers but flowers cannot live without us...I guess.

I wonder what flowers say about us when we are not around them,

Ok but where did the newage bull of "they dance with their light bodies to heal us" come from? Thata grasping for straws for real.......

Music is just sound waves. Light is light waves.

Plants probably have developed a way to convert sound waves into energy because they are closely related to light waves.

everything is waves.

Probably..or they feel like we feel and hear the sound by vibration and dancing.

Cool. I wonder what would happen if you just played certain frequencies, such as the supposedly miraculous 528hz.

More work needs to be done on this. They should experiment with wave-shape, volume, pitch, harmonies and tone etc. Not just music. They obviously can't hear the music, so saying that plants prefer a certain genre is a bit daft. It's all to do with the maths - frequency and vibration.

I've got a theory that the natural geometric design of flowers is actually a creation of (or at least related to) a certain frequency or vibration. Like an invisible blue-print made of waves. See Chladni patterns and cymatics (if you don't know what they are)
www.youtube.com...

Maybe if an external frequency matched the flower's own frequency, the flowers would resonate and become more free to grow.

Nice thread!

I just read about a stronger than kevlar and carbon fiber made from wood pulp and the first applications are going to be military.................Maybe they can militarize these qualities of plant life too so to pacify the enemy rendering them docile and passive and helpless in the face of the more aggresive nature of the American soldier...........

If you research the work of Dr. Massaru Emoto you'll see that water has the ability to record and store vibrational frequencies( look up youtube video "Water- The Great Mystery"). People use this knowledge to restructure water to suit different purposes, such as making essences of flowers because the water will store the vibrational frequency of what ever flower is submerged into it. Now knowing this add the fact that our bodies consist of upwards on average 50 to 70 percent water, by introducing on a consistent basis the restructured water into your body eventually your body will consist of 50 to 70 percent of this restructured water, which contains the vibrational healing frequencies that the plants emit, therefore bringing your unbalanced frequencies into attunement with those of which ever healing flower you chose to make the essence of flower.

I wonder what would happen if they compared playing the dissonant sounding tritone (augmented fourth, the so-called "devil's interval") compared to say a perfect fifth, an octave, or chords that are generally happy sounding. Or perhaps a song in a major scale (generally happy sounding) vs. a minor/diminished (sad-sounding). (For those who aren't in to theory, I feel the need to specify)
