I am sick and tired of Republicans talking about how they will "fix" the economy, when they are responsible for most of the economic downturns of the past 50 years.

And like Democrats have done such a great job. The United States Senate (controlled by the Democrats) haven't passed a budget in three years. Three years ! ! ! When President Obama presented his budget it was voted down 98-0. That means all the 58 Democrats and 40 Republican Senators Vote it down, you don't get more by bipartisan than that.

The Problem is lack of responsible leader ship on both sides. President Kennedy showed us the way, cut taxes and spending and the economy will take off. President Reagan attempted to do the say thing. He was able to get the tax cuts but the Democrats failed to keep their end of the bargain by cutting spending which they did not.

Since then both side have continued to increase government spending at a faster and faster rate.

Debt by US President -

It a simple thing we are spending more than we have.

Exactly, read my thread "STARS AND STRIPES" and illustrates the GOP's lack of attention to the tiny details as which way the stars need to point...if they can't do this simple thing, they are as ignorant as dirt.

All I know is the GOP has the intent to replace the
Government with CORPORATIONS. I do not want
To privatize political power and give all the breaks to
Businesses. I would rather look out for individuals.

The GOP is psycho because there is no force to put
The breaks on the greed they put so much stock in.

The GOP wants to destroy government, but unfortunately
America is connected to that very government.

Lol, that title is funny

Banks are unhealthy for the economy, it has nothing to do with the politicians anymore and hasnt' since the removal of Glass Steagall.

Mind you the banks have always been unhealthy for the ecomony IMO and have been since the inception of the money changers over 2,000 ago.

They don't realize that they carry the devil around because
They don't think to look at the nuance

That was only because the top tax rate was 75% (or was it 90%?) Corporations don't want to hire Americans any more, and they don't pay any taxes now anyways, so it doesn't apply.

F&S for the OP, I couldn't agree with you more except that I will take it one step further. IMO, republicans are bad for humanity.

I don't know why we continue to play this game. The Dems are not "progressive-socialists" and the Repubs are not "fiscal conservatives". Both sides are crony capitalists. Both sides depend on and support big government. The Dems lean further on the government and the Repubs lean further on the market. Dems use the state to prop up the market and so do the Repubs. If people think the Dems will not pass the austerity measures that Repubs want so badly, just wait a few more years. They will be forced to do it. And if people don't think the Repubs will push for bigger government, get your head out of the sand, they already have been doing that and will continue to do that.

Divide and Conquer...this is not a Democracy or a Representative Republic, it is a Plutarchy ruled by crony capitalists.

I don't have heck of a lot to add, but that you are blind if you think that it's "all the republicans fault'. Riiiight.
Also, you used Think Progress as a source and they aren't exactly a trustworthy source. It's like using BeforeItsNews as a "serious" news source.

Excellent article, complete.

I don't understand why people blame Obama? He stopped the gushing of jobs being lost and the republicans have Obama from helping this country. Bush was handed a debt free country and look where we are, people wake up!

I don't consider myself a Democrat or a Republican but I honestly believe the Republican party is what's holding back the U.S. from achieving so many great things.

I'm just astonished that a party that is so ignorant about Science can remain relevant in the politics of the U.S. I have no doubt in my mind that as people get more educated the Republican party will eventually die out or at least be confined to small areas of the U.S.

If Republicans are at fault for all economic problems in the last 50 years how do you explain...

Jimmy Carter?

The rise of Ronald Regan?

Who was it that signed NAFTA again?

Who signed us up for GATT under the WTO?

Point is, I can go on and on and on about how Democrats have done us no favors, but the truth is it would not matter one bit. You are obviously all wrapped up in blaming one side over another that no matter what I say, prove or show you- you will probably refuse to acknowledge that our economic woes are a result of bad policy brought on by BOTH parties.

Repubicans = Democrats they both serve to line the pockets of the rich and to screw the common man.

But continue to think one is better or worse than the other and that they are some how different when in reality they are not.

That isn't even remotely true and smacks of the "Blame Bush" crowd. The House and the Senate were controlled by Democrats the first two years of Obama's "reign" and everyone, not just republicans, voted down Obama's proposed budget. He demands that others pay their fair share of taxes, yet his own advisors don't pay any taxes.
