Can I be a Paid Mod??

Are the forumn staff moderators volunteer or paid? i want to be a paid mod someday.

This is only speculation on my part, but the mods are sequestered in chambers filled with life-sustaining fluid with a myriad of wires surgically implanted directly to the brain.

The best way to NOT ever become a mod, though, is to ask if you can be one.

i never understood that whole "if you say you wanna be mod , you cant be a mod" mentalty?!

any mods or administration care to elaborate?

The mods do a good job since i joined ATS
it can be a stressfull work to always respect the rules and tried to remain profesionnal
they are the image of the site .. the responsabilities most be enormous
especially on a conspiracy site that is probably under strick surveillance
so if one day i was offered to become a mod

My answer would be Hell NO
way to much trouble and responsabilities
i like having not to watch every words i type

We are not paid - nor are the radio staff - we do it for the love of the community and the fun of it

I take my payment in the form of the good times we all have on here - and the fact that the site owners don't charge anyone to be here, or pester me to buy DVD's, Subscription TV shows, choose their sponsors products etc (unlike other sites I could name)

To reply - and put simply - anyone who wants to be a mod and pesters to be one probably has an agenda they want to push or an axe to grind.

i could see that i guess just seems like a silly rule of thumb.
i can image there are some folks here that are a great fit for the coveted position, who want nothing more than to be on the team of a community thay have come to love. But just vocaliseing it because thay think it shows a certain leardership type trait.

things seem to have worked out so far so I guess it works. but it just seems silly to dissmiss willing members just becuas they expresed intrest

Actually, I don't know that I'd want to be paid for doing this... I do it because I've had a tremendous amount of fun on ATS, both before and after I became a mod, and this is a way to pay it back, at least a little.

Honestly?

Go to your local mall and fill out an application to be a security guard.
At least you'll get a shiny badge.

Mods occasionally get laid but that usually has nothing to do with the job. Money....never happen.
