I think it would be wise to fix our infrastructure.
We are rated a D- as a Nation, Neo.

Now, having a President to implement it, without using the fixings, as a reason to Unionize workers, and abuse the fix, as a reelection gimmick? Good luck with that.

I know, but what good does a road or bridge do or internet when people have no money or job to even use them?

Not everyone can be a construction worker, or have the necessary skills to get any benefit which goes back to something I have said time and time agian.

Infrastructure are state and local issues it makes no sense to me to spend 20 billion dollars in New York or California that takes from other people like someone living in Indiana who will never use or get any benefit from that.

People are free to think as the will but it is the greatest waste i can think of where as small business would not cost anyone else a cent to impliment.

We need jobs to fix our economy but hey spend trillions doing it that adds more tax burden on the American people.

People are free to disagree.

So what is the fearless leaders plan?

Listened to the ideas today of "last centurys ideas that people watched on a black and white tv" nothing but pure condescension and arrogance.

The guy has had 4 years so what the hell has changed?

50 million on medicaid that can not be paid for
70 million on social security that can not be paid for
47 million on welfare
23 million Americans out of work

Massive spending where all he and the left does is blame the last guy so what is the plan for the next 4 years eh?

More of the same failed leadership where millions of Americans don't even have a job or power to buy a tv or even eat.

hooray for the great savior of the republic.

This is why no one takes you seriously.

This is your thread about Right Wing Bashers.

And you troll your OWN thread and take it off topic.

Neo... you are a peach.

Actually that is the topic and about the dismal future of this country and the fact that apparently some people have no concerns about these:

money.cnn.com...
familiesusa.org...
www.forbes.com...

But by all means keep supporting the same failed policies of the last 4 years with no end in sight.

www.usdebtclock.org...

One more to link to ponder.

The error as many as there are is the fact that no one takes the left or Obama seriously about trying to fix anything considering they offer no solution but throw more money(which we do not have) at the "so called"
problems.

And what is the RNCs? Buy your own birth control, regardless how poor you are, if you get pregnant (even if raped) be forced to have the baby. We won't give poor people, foodstamps, medicaid, or WIC if you have that said baby..who cares if it starves...at least you didn't have that abortion.

edit on 1-9-2012 by RealSpoke because: (no reason given)

Insurance should never cover birth control, even though it has many medical uses outside preventing birth and is sometimes necessary as certain people will have their life threatened were they to become pregnant.
We all know that a grown woman, or a 13 year old girl is a whore if she gets pregnant and was asking for it. You cannot get pregnant if you genuinely do not enjoy it, whore. So you will have your rapists baby, even if it kills you - literally - and you will pay for it and raise it to not be a burden on society, whore.
Vote Romney. His wife thinks he is swell!

Talking about the DNC has already started:

A bit misleading...

According to the published itinerary of the upcoming Democratic National Convention to be held next week in Charlotte, North Carolina, 20,000 Muslims are expected to an event in advance of the convention itself, called “Jumah at the DNC” that is being sponsored by the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA).

BIMA is a national Muslim-American non-profit group that seeks status with the United Nations as a recognized non-governmental organization (NGO).

Source

Anyone can get a permit and have a separate event that coincides with any convention. To connect the two is somewhat in error.

I would assume that in order to have the DNC on their flyer to promote their event, they would require permission from the Democratic Party?.....and this Muslim prayer session is being lead by a Radical American born Imam.

A senior DNC host committee official confirmed that the BIMA events had been removed from the website's "upcoming events" page.

"This event, like many others on the page, was user generated," a senior Host Committee official told NBC News on Friday. "Upon further review, and because speakers for the event and statements and positions from event organizers were not appropriate and relevant to the Host Committee, Charlotte in 2012 has decided to remove the event from our events calendar."

Somebody made a poor decision - probably trying to be overly PC... now it's bitten them in the hindquarters. Mistake? Sure. Conspiracy or implication of sympathizing with radical Islam? No.

Not a damn thing, I am afraid.

The problem is this. Republicans have fallen from their Conservative roots, and have drifted too FAR right. Democrats have fallen from their middle ground, and drifted too FAR left. Not to mention, that its all a money making sham, for those involved in politics, and those in Control, don't give a damn about ANY of us. We are nothing to them, except a vote. I say throw them all out.

THIS President hasn't done anything to help this economy. Four more years? He shouldn't have four more days. How can anyone continue to froth over this President?

Best comment I've read in a long time. All these politicians care about is keeping us divided and not doing anything real to fix the problems they've created. They all party together, probably sleep together, and most definitely, bank together.

Freedom of speech means you can bash whomever/whatever you want as long as you stay within the terms and conditions of the site. I dish plenty of bashing when called for and receive lots of it back. Its a two way highway friend as you should know by now.

Second the democrats are almost as far right as the republicans. There is NO left wing politics in america unless you vote for one those small parties that many americans DIED trying to prevent in other countries. Remember senator McCarthy and his witch-hunt of socialists/communists?

Saying you are a socialist is like telling the cops "hey throw me in jail cause I am some stupid loser". ONLY in america we have this stigma cause everyone is ridding the wall street gravey train and the zionists are leading the front on global capitalism.

Whatever man. I am voting for SPUSA next time. Maybe we should just have the rockefellers and rothschilds run for president because THEY are the ones who run the show from behind the scenes. Or the blue bloods from europe.

After reading a few threads about the last week that was nothing more than bash the evil righties I wait with baited breath that those people who did not waste any time "pointing" out the errors of the evil Republicans and do the same to the Democrats.

The DNC convention is up and coming and I want to see those critics hold their own party to the same standards they set for the Republicans This week.

Come on be as viscious, and as condenscending as those threads show who is morally and intellectually "superior".

I can’t wait to see the great DNC bashing threads to come!

I’ve taken names….I know the GOP bashers!

I’m sure they’ll dazzle us all with their unbiased criticism of the DNC convention. I bet most of these same members hammering the GOP convention will fact-check and expose the lies told at the DNC convention and give us a comprehensive breakdown.

I’m holding my breath, ladies, so don’t let me down!

Your right, on the whole State issue thing, and fixing our infrastructure. We would still need help, on a Federal level. Period. Here's a bit of information to wrap your head around.

1. Increase Federal Leadership in Infrastructure America's infrastructure needs bold leadership and a compelling national level vision. During the 20th Century, the federal government led the way in building our nation's greatest infrastructure systems from the New Deal programs to the Interstate Highway System and the Clean Water Act. Since that time, federal leadership has decreased, and the condition of the nation's infrastructure suffered. Currently most infrastructure investment decisions are made without the benefit of a national vision. That strong national vision must originate with strong federal leadership and be shared by all levels of government and the private sector Without a strong national vision, infrastructure will continue to deteriorate.

2. Promote Sustainability and Resilience America's infrastructure must meet the ongoing needs for natural resources, industrial products, energy, food, transportation, shelter and effective waste management, and at the same time protect and improve environmental quality. Sustainability and resiliency must be an integral part of improving the nation's infrastructure. Today's transportation systems, water treatment systems, and flood control systems must be able to withstand both current and future challenges. Both structural and non-structural methods must be applied to meet challenges. Infrastructure systems must be designed to protect the natural environment and withstand both natural and man-made hazards, using sustainable practices, to ensure that future generations can use and enjoy what we build today, as we have benefitted from past generations. Additionally, research and development should be funded at the federal level to develop new, more efficient methods and materials for building and maintaining the nation's infrastructure. Sustainable development will not only preserve the high quality of life and environment we enjoy today, but improve conditions in the future.

3. Develop Federal, Regional, and State Infrastructure Plans Infrastructure investment at all levels must be prioritized and executed according to well conceived plans that both complement the national vision and focus on system wide outputs. Goals of the plan should center on freight and passenger mobility, intermodality, water use, environmental stewardship and encouraging resiliency and sustainability. The plans must reflect a better defined set of federal, state, local, and private sector roles and responsibilities and instill better discipline for setting priorities and focusing funding to solve the most pressing problems. The plans should also complement our broad national goals of economic growth and leadership, resource conservation, energy independence, and environmental stewardship. Infrastructure plans should be synchronized with regional land use planning and related regulation and incentives to promote non-structural as well as structural solutions to mitigate the growing demand for increased infrastructure capacity.

4. Address Life-Cycle Costs and Ongoing Maintenance As infrastructure is built or rehabilitated, life-cycle cost analysis should be performed for all infrastructure systems to account for initial construction, operation, maintenance, environmental, safety and other costs reasonably anticipated during the life of the project, such as recovery after disruption from natural or manmade hazards. Additionally, owners of the infrastructure should be required to perform ongoing evaluations and maintenance to keep the system functioning at a safe and satisfactory level. Life-cycle cost analysis, ongoing maintenance, and planned renewal will result in more sustainable and resilient infrastructure systems and ensure they can meet the needs of future users.

We must develop and authorize innovative financing programs that not only make resources readily available, but also encourage the most effective and efficient use of those resources. Federal investment must be used to complement, encourage and leverage investment from the state and local government levels as well as from the private sector. In addition, users of the infrastructure must be willing to pay the appropriate price for their use.

Here's an idea. Instead of just saying what you all are going to do. Why don't you instead simply just do it. I am sure that the Dems at the convention will say and do things that you can complain about all day long, and then you can have some new things to say instead of the same shade of off-whitewash BS we have come to expect.

How did the OP get like 3 dozen stars when it said absolutely nothing?

I have one more thing to say here. Ron Paul was a fantastic opportunity for the republicans to make ammends and regain the trust of the american people. He was for very limited foreign intervention, which is sorely needed in america, and he was for auditing the FED.

How the hell could anyone be against that? If it came to vote between ron paul and barrack obama, ron paul was a far better choice. As for romney he is a traditional "lets privatise everything and lets go to war with everyone" republican. Probably just as bad as bush and reagan.

Here is the thing.

People need to make up their minds "infrastructure" or free healthcare, free educations, free homes,Social Security they keep adding things that can not be paid for.

People need to make up their minds they can not have their cake and eat it too the choice is what is more important social engineering or civil engineering.

They can't have both they must choose, the largest state expenditure that tax revenue is spent on is social engineering that have led to the "neglect" of the infrastructure.

People need to start giving up some of those services.
