I agree 100% about what was done to Ron Paul and I was here to see some of it with my own eyes. It's detestable when it was his own party doing it to him.... His own party.. Hmmm.... You know, Paul could have used Steele's help a little....ahem... SOONER... Figures this hack comes out on the 'correct' side when coming out will make absolutely no difference to anyone.

He's been an establishment guy and the very head of the party that buried Paul. I can't help but think. despite the fact he lost his chairmanship in Jan 2011, he was sure there long enough to set the tone and stage for what Paul had done to him. Perhaps he's just lost absolutely all credibility with some folks..like me.

Paul needs friends to support him. I really can't stand these people who come out when it might score them some brownie points with people ( or so they think ) but they couldn't have been bothered to say Boo when Paul NEEDED this kind of thing being said the most.

I cannot count how many times I have watched the tele or webs for news or events only be be struck aghast at what I am witnessing first hand. I get my wife and make sure I am not the only one seeing it. Anymore I feel like im some sub-plot in a terrible b-rated sci-fi channel movie.

Don't be depressed about this, they pull the Jerry Springer USA chant all the time in situations like that. Sorry, but which foreigners in the French Revolution? IIRC Louis XVI had some Swiss Guards (most of whom were killed I think). And I think that the chanting prats were Americans. The Republican Party has gone totally mad over the past 12 years.

EXACtly. Suddenly they're outraged, now that it's over and Ron Paul is not a threat to their victory anymore. This is what they do, but we're smarter than that. He should have come out and said something months ago when all this got started. I would have appreciated his criticism of the GOP back then.

I have a lot of respect for Michael Steele and I'm glad that he left as head of the party when he did.

He is the type of person we need to have in charge that will let people like RP have their place within the party.....but he was not "extreme" enough to lead a party that keeps pushing further Right.

Ron Paul as a 3rd party would have absolutely 0 chance. None. Period. First......States like mine won't even let him get write-in votes, let alone anything more formal. It's nothing personal in Missouri's case. It's the law and it applies to everyone, equally. If they run in the primary and lose, that's it. No coming back to haunt the winner to the end (Like that crap in Alaska with Murkowski).

In this example, it tie's Paul's hands. However, that's not the most critical thing. Dr. Paul himself said earlier on that he absolutely would NOT run 3rd party in this race. It was Republican or retirement.....and fate has chosen that for him.

I hate to say this, but it's being intellectually honest. I respect Paul as a man and a politician chiefly because he says what he does and does what he says. I'd lose a good deal of that respect if now, at the end of a great career, he reversed himself on his own word and broke it to benefit himself in this race.

I don't believe he'd consider it anyway. He has Honor. Honorable men...however FEW still exist...keep their word...especially when it's inconvenient. Too bad he made that promise, as it happens now.

just to clarify.

he never said he wouldn't run 3rd, he has always consistently said that nothing is absolute and he did not have plans to do it.

For him to run 3rd party would mean he knows he will lose but he would still pull votes away from the Republican Party at a crucial time when conservatives want to get the most radical, leftist, Marxist, Progressive, socialist President in American history out of office. It would be an absurd move. (unless he thinks he can pull votes from Democrats too)
I checked a Tea Party website and they are not really big on Romney, but I'm pretty sure they still would prefer a Republican right now.
The time to form a new 3rd party affiliation is not just before an election. Tea Party formed after the election of BO not before. If Romeny gets elected and doesn't make good on his promises, the Tea Party will revolt.

The CFR and the Shadow Party runs things on both sides. The grassroots has thrown a monkey wrench in the program but they are still operable because they have power and money. They are deeply entrenched in every avenue, every industry.
The Tea Party learned from ACORN and the community organnizer. You have to get inside an organization and work from the ground up.

I posted before that the Republican Party is adding a return to the Gold Standard to its platform. This hasn't been done since the Reagan era. This means that a lot of people are tired of the system of fiat money. GOP candidates were talking about auditing the Fed and other important issues and what we heard from the Left, what I saw on ATS is that they are all crazy nuts. So whose fault is it that nothing happens to change things?
