1. Watching the Television erodes your mind. Really? Let's address the facts.

2. Doomsday is coming, but no date is set? The Mayans missed the mark. When is the new date? Is there one?

3. Fossil Fuel vs Renewable energy. Is peak oil a concern?

I feel apt in staying away from guns, violence, and all the other hoopla going on. Let's keep it different for this debate.

Choose, change, or pour yourself another cup of coffee. Those are my suggestions.

I took the liberty of tallying the stars from our discourse match. A=17, D=26. D ends with plus 9 stars. That indicates that ATS members are leaning no regulation. Then again, it's hardly a valid indication of anything.

Subtracting the ten that you gave me, that's seven more stars than I thought I'd get -- on gun control, this is a tough room, lol. And as I said earlier, it was more exploratory than anything else -- contrary to appearances, I'm not really a gun control advocate, not in the classic sense, anyway.

Yes, it was interesting, though it definitely got stretched out. If it was an actual match that needed to be judged, I'd say a strict scoring system of three points per round:

• Did they ask an effective Socratic question?
  
• Did they respond to what they were asked?
  
• Was that response effective?

There were a couple of rounds where I think you ducked my question (sensibly, lol) and at least one round where I ignored yours completely.

Not the 'Dark Side'! Oh no! Strong within you the Force is young padawan, yet sense a disturbance I do.

Pending approval, I'll have my opening up this evening.

I have a debate proposal which I would like to argue the pro side for. This is for anyone looking for a debate!

Proposal: All education systems in developed countries, should be legally required to provide free education at a high quality level to all ages of society.

So anyone willing to give it a go?
