Nice opening post, SS. Time noted as 3:11pm, so I'll take today to mull and revise my post offline, and send it into Skyfloating tomorrow late morning or early afternoon.

Best of luck back at ya!

Got the final post in the AI series posted.

I remember when I used to get drunk on New Years Eve as a matter of principle. Now I do this.

Note to mods: I'm available to judge debates if need be. Keep that noted. Just PM me, when you're in need of a judge.

Congrats to my friend Druid42 on his decisive victory in 2012 debating! A 20 point lead! That's pretty well insurmountable, and is a credit to your huge involvement in the ATS Debate Forum!

My reply to TinkerHaus in the Society would be better without a monetary system is up. Very hard to limit the information I had in there, when there is so much to talk about.

Kudos to TH. I thought you did a great job with your opening post!

A good reply, however, you need to better differentiate between things you're quoting your opponent as saying, and things that you're citing from others. For example:

An interesting statement you made was believing I would argue this point.

money provides a necessary incentive for people to be productive.

Communism, actually proves this point.

State own firms have less incentive to increase efficiency (eg they do not innovate or conduct R and D). Laborers have little incentive for hard work, resulting in decrease in productivity

Is very confusing. Better is to cite your opponent in a "quote" tag, and your citations of others with the "ex" tag, along with a link, such as:

An interesting statement you made was believing I would argue this point.

money provides a necessary incentive for people to be productive.

Communism, actually proves this point.

State own firms have less incentive to increase efficiency (eg they do not innovate or conduct R and D). Laborers have little incentive for hard work, resulting in decrease in productivity (Source)

Just a suggestion to make your posts a bit clearer! If you want to see the tags that I used there, just hit the "Quote" button on my post and look at the quoted text.

My position in The Mass Shootings Persusion Match is up.

Tough topic, due to it's sensitive nature. Thanks, SS, for taking the topic on. I'm interested to see your side.

That's from nearly 6 months of solid debating. You didn't do too shabby yourself.

My question: (Sky?)

Do the points reset on a yearly basis? When do we call it a "season" and all go back to zero? What's the official ruling on that? Just curious!
edit on 1/1/13 by Druid42 because: sp err....to to too

TH and CRB, you guys are all but brawling over there in your debate. Good reading.

Nice debating so far on both sides. That's the way it's done.

Well stated, SS.

This one will be surely a tough one to judge. You did a great job presenting your side, so best of luck with the outcome. Kudos.

Thanks Druid! That means a lot coming from the debate champ.

Now if I could just get rid of this writers block to finish the Morality debate post......sometimes I can't find the right words.
