It's all in the wording of the title. Con position can go first, just word the title accordingly. adjensen's example is good.

I'm proposing a new debate series. Three debates, on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. (Side note: I was reserving a single AI debate for Pinke, but no-shows can't debate, aye?)
The titles will be AI series, Part 1, Part 2, etc, much like the Time Travel series. I got pwned on the TT series, and am volunteering another series to make amends.
The topics can be decided per round, but, here's my first few suggestions:
I liked the previous format, a 3-round debate, a persuasion match, and another 3-round debate.
So for this debate series I'll suggest the same.
Topics:
1. AI is a long-term goal.
2. The Internet will become AI.
3. AI will be benevolent.
4. AI is a natural evolutionary step, inevitable.
5. AI will take over the world. (Skynet Fiction.)
6. My favorite: AI is an emergent quality, due soon.
I'll let my opponent take those ideas, contort and twist them to whatever terms, and place a debate topic, and their position, hence.
If Heff declines, the next challenger will be accepted.

Then argue how AI will effect humanity ( Will the Internet become AI - which would bleed over into many other aspects of life, technologies, etc.)
And lastly argue whether or not this is a good or bad thing.
