Final post in the Great Santa Debate is up, and it's time to see whose arguments are viewed as naughty, and whose are nice.

I think I should get bonus points for never pointing out that Santa is an anagram of Satan

Been doing some research about genetics today, and if anyone is interested I'd love to have a discussion about a future application of the science:

Should people be allowed to genetically engineer their children?

The wording of the debate might be improved, but you get the picture...

Any takers?

I'll take either side of the debate...

ETA: hmmm...inspired by adjensen and Druid's time travel series, maybe we could make a series about the future of humans and technological implications of how we evolve..

we could start with genetic engineering..

then should people be allowed to augment themselves with technology?

And should people be allowed to take supplements that dramatically boost performance?

Should people pursue immortality?

idk there are a lot of ways to go...anyone interested in a series of debates on the ethics of people using technology to boost their lives? Again, the wording of all these debates can probably be improved..

I'm in the middle of reading "Revelation Space" by Alastair Reynolds, and have his "Chasm City" on deck. Your topics of human augmentation spark my interest severely. I'm primed to be a candidate for the hypothetical implications, so if you create a series of topics of the subject, I'd be interested in participating.

Actually, it wouldn't have been that bad. Siberia would have more inclement climes, and less freedom, and Mongolia more moderate climes and a bit more freedom. Being the pro, I'd have the disadvantage, but I'm sure a few facts about Russian Vodka would have worked in my favor.

The "random debate" option should have a stipulation for "reasonable topics", pleasy.
