Another really good debate. Kind of mean/hilarious how PatrickGarrow took your from-the-heart confession in the opening (about being a native) and used it for his debate...

lol what was I supposed to do forget the entire issue of Native Americans?

I didn't mean to sound disrespectful or cold.

I feel bad now.

ETA: I guess I didn't need to go right from repeating his heritage to making my point. It did read pretty cold. Whoops.

I would like to propose another debate.

A little different.........chose a story from my X-Files cases below (signature).

But here's the catch - choose one that is difficult to explain and allow your opponent the opportunity to decide which side they want to debate.

Then - lets do it

I have promised Pinke a debate, and we are tossing around two topics, one of which will be a good discussion.

We'll figure it out, and submit it for approval soon.

Till then, I am intrigued by Sublimecraft's proposal. I'll take the Voynich Manuscript, and make an open challenge, first to Sublime, then to others.

He has several in his sig link that would make good debates. I think it's a good idea for topics, and I personally was drawn to the "Voynich" topic.

I've worked on it, but never in a professional fashion. I've gotten as far as everyone else, which is nowhere.

The premise would be: "The Voynich Manuscript, a hoax or real?"

(Revisions allowed, but the theme is there.)

I'll take either side. That's how unsolved mysteries work, and what makes it a worthy debate topic.

Waiting.....

I'll take the "real" side.

I have commitments this weekend so if we can leave it for a few days that would be great.

I'll flick you a u2u on Sunday and meet you at the starting blocks mate.

Good choice.

Judgments for the Hawaii Debate are also in

It was also a tie and even closer than the Columbus Debate. If you guys want to see how to do a minimal word-count debate, this serves as an example.

Thanks for making this Forum great everybody

Looking forward to the Voynich Debate and do wish the manuscript were real...

You can tweak the title a little if you want, as the implications of a hoax is a little misleading. It is a "real" manuscript, in that it exists, and has never been deciphered, but was it's purpose to record arcane knowledge, or is it just a clever cipher with fictional material?

I'll be glad to take the con position. I'll be awaiting your opening.
