American Presidents. World Leaders or Front Men?

So, American Presidents. World leaders of just front men?

- Corporations, banks and media moguls support presidential candidates

So when someone becomes President, is he blackmailed into doing the bidding of his backers- the banks and big corporations who got him to the top? Does he make his own decisions? Is he obliged to do their bidding? Or did they just fund him because they appreciated what HE as a candidate had to say on a certain subject?

Who does the President serve?

- The foreign policy of Presidents

Current candidate Romney speaks to the public about foreign policy, that he supports Israel etc. But is he making his own decisions? Consider the make up of his middle east advisory team. Men like Hayden, Chertoff and Zakheim. These are the men who openly have an agenda in the middle east, Zakheim of all people has been involved behind the scenes in American politics since the 1980's!

When you have people shaping the policy of a nation who are actively trying to take away your privacy rights (Chertoff), or men who screw the American tax payer over repeatedly to help Israel (Zakheim), men who have been active participants in ensuring wars that have cost the tax payer almost a trillion dollars (and that is just the official accounts) and that these men are still working behind the scenes, does this not make a mockery of western 'democracy' when you ask these questions?

Are US Presidents serving the people or the same elite who work behind the scenes? When George W Bush came after Clinton, the same war hawks forming policy for Clinton were working with Bush- Rumsfeld, Zakheim, Wolfowitz etc

You tell me.

was lucky enough to have met kennedy ...he was a decent man who tried to do what was right .. overall he did ... havent respected any that followed since ..

Come on! Do we really need to ask this? Kinda a rookie question. Yes, the last 60 years have produced nothing more than front men. Since the invitation of the Military-Industrial Complex from the government to private industry, this country no longer belongs to the American public. We are now the United Corporations of America.

I don't know. Maybe because he was the only president in the last 50 years who actually took concrete, verifiable steps towards making things better? Terrorist? That's hilarious. Truly. I'm dying over here.

What is funny? He authorised terror attacks before the invasion that he also authorised.

And you dont know why he was killed. You only have a theory.

Oh god. You're going to make me really list out the actual things he tried to do? Fine. But you're going to have to wait until I get done with work. Unless one of our other fine posters gets to it before me. Which would be great. Because having to spoon feed people readily available information is super boring.

Well exactly.

So why are some people Democrats and others Republicans, actually discussing politics when the person they will vote for is nothing but a front man for the real controllers, the vast majority of whom the masses haven't even heard of?

I bet if you asked the average American who Dov Zakheim was they wouldn't have clue.

It's just amazing how it has got to this. Do you vote?
