Ill agree with the un on this as soon as they go to war in israel to take their nukes away.

As long as nukes exist ... Isreal is actually one of the few countries, that I'd say has the right to have them.

Now, you tell me ... why should China have them? Or Russia? Or the US?

These countries are perhaps afraid, that Iceland might invade them?

Why did America get any trouble over dropping a nuclear bomb on two civilian targets.
It Is a war crime which they got away with.

Brain dead............Probably a straight A student at school, but completely clueless about everything else.
Are you a momma's boy by chance?
Are you one of those sissy kids who after they ran their mouths, hid behind his mother so he didn't get his butt kicked?

And I would say you are a prejudiced fool in need of a history lesson and a little culture (not to mention class).

Have I ever denied being prejudiced or claimed that I was not?
History is not a subject you want to go head to head with me on, it truly is on your best interest not to do so. Just because your teacher told you something does not mean he didn't omit choice little tidbits.
Culture........hmmmmm I have seen quite enough culture to know what is vile and disgusting and what is tolerable
Class......Have you ever beat the crap out of a guy for hitting a woman, I have. Some would say anyone who fights has no class, others would say that anyone who stands by and does nothing has no class.,,which are you?

Good one, you really told me didn't you? Don't know where you are from but it is not from someplace that holds Life,Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness as the most sacred of rights.
You see my misguided miscreant, the Constitution tell me that those rights are for all people and by default it also tells me that those who would deny an individual those rights are my enemy. islam is therefor my enemy because it denies those rights to the individual without fear of reprisal

From my life experiences, peopel turn to acting like this when they don't have anything intelligent to say and /or have been beaten itellectually by another. I"m just saying you make yourself look like a fool. Being "tough" on the internet screams attention seeking. It also invalidates anything insightful you might be trying to say.

The UN Security Council has an illogical, unjust and completely undemocratic structure and mechanism. This is a flagrant form of dictatorship, which is antiquated and obsolete and whose expiry date has passed. It is through abusing this improper mechanism that America and its accomplices have managed to disguise their bullying as noble concepts and impose it on the world.

english.khamenei.ir...

Im pretty sure the awesome speech that the Grand Ayatollah just made at the NAM Summit.

The world is starting to openly call the UN out for what it is. Who could argue with him?

I can.

I don't agree with what he says about the UN. I think the concept and the organization has a long and respectable history of peacekeeping. The only thing off-hand that I can say I disagree with when it comes to the UN is the veto right that some countries have. So there's room for improvement, sure, but the organization is a lot better an option than another World War, for example.

And that's what UN was made to prevent - a third world war. Just because the Eastern Bloc has fallen and the Cold War is over doesn't mean there's no longer a risk for that.
In fact, I'm thinking in the near future, we're going to need UN more than ever, with all the up-and-coming superpowers that are making their appearance around the world.

Long and respectable history of peacekeeping my ass.

The U.N is nothing but the tool by which they will implement global dictatorship, and they have a history of occupying nations under the guise of 'protecting' them. Check the rape, prostitution, human and drug trafficking statistics before and after the ass-holes deploy anywhere and then define 'peacekeeping' for me because I doubt you have any idea what the term is actually supposed to stand for.

well I think all of the NAM members want more influence for general assembly and limit the veto right. they do not want to ruin the international communities. they want that general assembly becomes the main part of UN and containing security council as well. and to remove veto right.

We don't agree on much, the OP and I, but this time, I think that a regular theocracy should avoid nuclear proliferation at all costs.

I even agree with him on his hesitation to agree with the UN. I, too, agree that any sovereign nation should be able to conduct internal affairs such as this...but, sadly, for a "greater good" they must be "told what to do." This seems counter-intuitive, but may, in fact, be better for every human on the planet.

Well, haha, there's always a first time, isn't there?
I'm glad, however, that we agree.

There was actually a time when I would say that even in regard to nukes, it was Iran's own business. But, people change, as do their outlook on life.

I'm definitely not pro-Iran, but the UN should mind their own business unless/until Iran flubs up and nukes somebody.

In the USA we all complain that we don't want the UN to interfere with our sovereignity, so why should we condone the UN infringing on anyone else's?

The UN is quickly becoming something it was never intended to be- a power hungry beast that wants to rule the world. I understand there are still good people who are part of the UN but they are rapidly becoming the minority in the power grab sweepstakes.

If you don't want the UN telling you what you can and cannot do in your own country you shouldn't support them doing it in somebody else's country.

See, Iran IS UN's business. Or, to put it another way; If the UN "minded their own business", they wouldn't be doing their job. Their job is to get in the world's nations' business, and do what they can to prevent war. Now, whether that means admonishing Iran, or pointing fingers at the US, the fact remains, their job isn't to make friends with either. Their job is to prevent war. If they were popular, that would mean in all likelyhood, they wouldn't be doing their job.

As a sidenote, the UN's fingerpointing is usually restricted to countries where wars are being fought (mainly civil wars) in a very inhumane or illegal way.

Well, not really agreeing, but respect your thoughts on it.

Guess if we all thought the same this place wouldn't exist!

Keep on keeping on!
