Iran calls on Non-Aligned movement to push for Israel war tribunal

www.haaretz.com

Iran called on member states of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Wednesday to push for opening a war tribunal against Israel, the news network Khabar reported.

The network quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi as saying that such an initiative would also stop Israel from committing further alleged war crimes against Palestine

Touchy subject matter, while I agree with Iran (oh gods) that Israel is guilty of some horrendous atrocities, is it Iran's place to call upon nations that are already hostile to Israel to deal with this? Almost sounds like they are asking for permission to wipe them out under the guise of "war crimes"

I would think it should be, like Libya (Quadaffi) Syria (Hassad) and Iraq (Huseein) and the United Nations should rule on this (we all know it won't happen but)..

And really how much authority would this group of non-aligned have in enforcing any action they decide upon, the US would certainly step in and it would become a bloody mess.

So.. more propaganda posturing or a real effort to hold Israel accountable?

at least iran is trying to do something about the crimes against humanity commited by israel on a daily basis ... as opposed to america - who finances and equips israel with weapons to pursue its genocidal campain in gaza ... while the rest of the west sits around with their heads up their collective backsides ignoring the threat israel poses to gaza and the world...

Its nothing but bullplop, but it would be good to have a public forum declaring the crimes israel is achieving at any given time, especially incontrast to the murdoch media mentality that israel and the us are above the law!

The justice seeking nations of NAM have more power than you think. google the NAM Map. NAM is pretty much the whole world apart from bankrupt United States and bankrupt Europe.

NAM is all about making people see that the rest of the world is not in love with the OECD nations. It is about giving the justice seeking nations a voice. It is about making people understand that the west is on the way out. NAM is also about making people see that the UN is a joke.

Yeah, China and Argentina (light blue) are not really members. They are observers. But still, you see who Africa and the poor nations like more. They like China. They are sick of being exploited by the West.

When you add the opower of the BRICS nations to all those NAM nations it shows that the West has far less power than it pretends. The power that the West has is falling away.
