Nobody really thought Dr. Paul would win did they?

I agree with an earlier poster. Ron Paul wanted to start the seed of changing the way people view their duty when it comes to liberty and elections.

The options afforded by the two main parties, are rotten to the core. Either one of these guys will put a giant spotlight on the corruption and self serving mind set of the ruling class.

We can only hope that this is the last election they will ever win. Standing up to the machine is an honorable feat. Dr. Paul will go down in history as the one who got the ball moving in the right direction despite all of the establishment standing in his way.

The fact that he ran as a Republican is lightyears ahead of where we were. At least he got some exposure, compared to the exposure that Gary Johnson is getting. That is big, folks.

I'll vote for Gary Johnson because voting for the lesser of two evils is still evil.

Nice post.

I've had time to sit back and quell my emotions. We all have to remember the real objective of the Ron Paul Revolution. With the current system, there is no way a third party candidate can win. We have to literally take over the GOP from within and this has been happening since 2008. It will not happen overnight. It might take years more to accomplish this goal. But the takeover process is happening. Look at Iowa and Nevada as two examples. The Liberty movement controls those states and we are close in others like Maine.

Be upset, but don't be discouraged. Only more hard work and most importantly...your voices will make the changes needed to finally win.

Don't be upset at Rand. He's playing politics because he has to. Ron knew what was happening and if you trust Ron Paul like I do, you will fully support our new leader of the Liberty Movement. He's not Ron. Nobody is. But he is OUR NEW LEADER! The torch is being passed.

It's up to us to help keep the fight going!

Rand is a weasel and a traitor.

The new "leader of the liberty movement" is Gary Johnson. "Change from within" is a pipe dream. Haven't you been paying any attention?

I'm not sure I can agree with this. Ron Paul has never had to play politics. Ron Paul has never had to compromise. What Rand did is, in my opinion, unforgivable. I personally have lost all respect for the man. I mean, what would have happend if the founders chose to play politics with King George? No, the letter was ripped up. That's the mentality that we need here. When it comes to losing whatever shreds of liberty and freedom that we have left, we don't "play ball to get along".

I figured the Ron Paul nutjobs would stop after the nomination of Romney. So my question is AFTER the election do we stop hearing abt how Ron Paul is gonna be the nominee?

Yes because if you believe in the constitution and personal liberty you're obviously a nut job. This is the mentality that is literally destroying this country from it's core.

Rand Paul is to Ron Paul as Mitt Romney is to George Romney.

The fathers were true patriots, faithful to their country and deeply philosophically and morally grounded. Their sons are both opportunists completely out for themselves and whose entry into the Club was on the strength of their last names. That is all.

Yea, I guess as far as the Republican party is concerned Maine is no longer a state.

You know what would be a great way for Maine to show their displeasure? Secession. Wouldn't that make some waves? Maine, Canada would be happy to have you. Nova Scotia already relies on your television channels!

The trick of successful protest is figuring out what you've got, that they need, that you can take away. Maine can take away Maine. I think voter disenfranchisement is probably one of the best reasons you could come up with. If it's truly a democracy, then those voices should be heard. There should also be more acceptance of other parties, but that's a different story. (Didn't I read something about the "Political Party" system being against the wishes of the framers of your constitution?)

Have I been paying attention?

The Ron Paul r3VOLution is in the RepubliCAN Party, which is part of the liberty movement, but the liberty movement is not part of the Ron Paul r3VOLution.

Gary Johnson, while having similar ideas and who I feel is a better candidate than Romney is there for people who don't have the guts to follow Ron Paul or really don't understand the message and the movement. Johnson will be running right back to the GOP after November...mark my words!

So go ahead and vote GJ or cry for Ron Paul to go third party. That's exactly what the GOP wants.

This is not about Romney, Obama or making a statement. It's so much bigger than that.

This is about Restoring America to Constitutional Government.

Ron Paul is way smarter than you and me!

So, have you been paying attention?

I am on your side but I am not delusional Ron Paul is not gonna be POTUS. Nor is he gonna be the Republican nominee. Liking Ron Paul does not make you a nutjob. Believing he is gonna be POTUS in THIS nation were our elections are a farce is lunacy. For argument lets say Ron Paul got the votes, do you believe they would allow him to be POTUS?

And here's a little more food for thought...

Republican leaders worry about divided state party organizations

"I wish I could tell you we were doing well right now — we're not. Ron Paul has totally taken our [state] party over," Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) told an activist from his state. "His folks have taken over half of our party, as a result of which we are split down the middle, totally ineffective, screwed up," chimed in former Rep. Vin Weber (R-Minn.), a foreign-policy adviser to Mitt Romney's presidential campaign who remains active in Minnesota state politics. "We are almost better off that they totally took over our party because most of us now are not worried about the party, we've got two or three independent expenditure efforts going by business leaders. We were split down the middle and had constant civil war within the party — nobody would be doing the basic get-out-the-vote."

I would vote for Satan before I EVER voted for Obama-Jad or Romney-Noodle! I am writing Ron Paul in on the ballot. Now people can say whatever the hell they want for my decision, but can you honestly say you made the right choice for voting in Obami or Mittens? I WILL be walking away from the voting station with a smile on my face! Can you honestly say the same for the other two numbnuts? I just don't understand how you Obama and Mitt people can feel good about yourselves? You all look like a bunch of obedient zombies waiting for someone to show you the way. It’s pathetic…!

Of course not. As we see with this thread, when he wins they change the rules. But calling people Ron Paul nut jobs isn't exactly the best way to get your point across.

Ok, now I'm convinced. The GOP really needs to change their mascot from an Elephant to an Ostrich. The way these USA'ers have their heads buried so far in (or up) some hole has gone far past the level of absurdity. I always thought that the GOP and Dems waited for their conventions to name the person they would have represent their party in the elections. And I'm also pretty sure it wasn't until the convention that the Candidate picked would then choose who their VP running mate would be.
Looks like the GOP just said "screw you its Romney and Ryan, you WILL chant their names, you WILL vote for these people because we told you to.
There was no mention on any of the news stations about the oddity of the timing, nothing mentioned about just who were these people who decided Mitt Romney was the annointed one, especialy seing how the delegates had yet to cast their votes at the convention.
Oh but thats right, Dr. Ron Paul was running too.
I know on my local news channel a few days before then convention they mentioned how the police expect to have their hands full, not with anarchists, not with democrats, hippies, KKK, Darth Vader, any of them. It was those Ron Paul supporters. Then mentioned ever so subliminally something about his supporters including alot fo drug addicts and derelicts. They always seem to forget the part about him being a Dr, about how he got up every morning like the rest of us and went to work. He delivered babies, and all that other doctor stuff, you know, real work. not some career gazillionaire politician with his SuperPAC of a Gazillion dollars.
Yet all these "Patriots", those ones that were so vocal about loving this country, its institutions and its constitution. I guess they love that hole too cause their heads have been there since right about the time the
Partriot Act was signed.
I hate to be the one tho break it to you guys, but just because you vote Reublican doesn't make you one of those super rich guys that you idolize so much. And if you'd removed your head for a few seconds you'd see the ones who are really spit shining their super rich derrieres isnt some jealous of you democrat. Its you and your fellow ostriches all lined up and puckered up.
So keep pretending that the country loves Mitt, To be honest Ive seen thousands of Ron PAul stickers this past year, cant say Ive ever seen one Mitt Romney sticker. And all you bible thumping types, remeber when you cast your vote for Mitt, that you'll call a black man a liar when he says he believes in God, and judge him as if you were casting him from the Garden of Eden yourself.
But you won't bat an eye voting for a white guy who wears magic underwear (also known as "the garment") who is a memeber of a religion founded by a man who says he recieved messages from God on gold plates, then when challenged to redecipher those plates could not. You guys would be a joke of all jokes if ourcountry wasnt in such dire straits.
But what do you care right. You're all Ostriches of the GOP, the party of the super wealthy like you. The DJ told me Ron Paul is a kook so he must be right, Because we all know a DJ with talent on loan from God speaks for God, and you listen. The rest of us have throughly enjoyed watching your party imploded, its been fun, almost as fun as your wives weekly botox parties, and those catchy enzyte commercials you all helped finance. Unfortunately you ruin our country a little more every day, Hell, you ruin the world a little more each day. But after Bushco nothing surprises me with these folks. They say the Muslims all think theyre getting 30-40 virgins when they die. These GOP yesbots get 30-40 gay porn stars. And the all look like Jeff Gannon.
Enjoy your convention, or whatever the hell you're calling this waste of time and money. Why even have a conventon anymore? Oh yeah, the gay male porn star thing.
You may now return your head to its happy place.

The convention has always been more of a formality. A rally, if you will. Usually, the candidate and his vice presidential choice has been decided prior to the convention. The delegates vote, but normally, the other candidates that were in the race choose to encourage their delegates to vote for the nominee, or sign over said delegate votes for things such as speaking roles at the convention.

The fact that it didn't happen this time just demonstrates how at odds the party is with itself. The democrats stand united, while the republicans fight with each other.

Who is "we"? The other 15% of ATS that doesn't like Ron Paul?

You forget that there is a large number of people that just lurk here without saying much, poll after poll shows the large majority on this site is pro-Ron Paul.

This idea gives me a glimmer of hope. I hear many Paul supporters already talking about voting for Johnson instead of writing Paul's name in. However many people are die hard Paul and will write his name in. This causes a divide in the cause to get the constitution back. Using your suggestion takes the risk out of the divide. I logged in just to star you.

The Republican party AND the Democratic party have rigged everything as long as I can remember. The travesty being played out at the convention, namely refusing to call out Ron Paul's votes at the roll call, have assured that most fervent Ron Paul supporters, including me, will write in Ron Paul's name in November. As another member has pointed out, the fact that Wolfy Blitz-her acts upset, is completely comical, since the MSM has ignored Ron Paul during the entire primary process.
It is ironic that the US screams when other nations hold rigged elections, when in fact, our election process is without a doubt as rigged as the old Soviet Union's elections.
I have no doubt that the re-election of Obama will continue the downward spiral of our economy, but replacing one crook with another is meaningless. Personally, I believe that our only hope is the awaited actions of the free militias of the various states.

Everyone needs to stop saying they're going to write in Ron Paul. Don't fracture an already fractured vote. Vote for Gary Johnson.
