Yes, All Hail The Peace Loving Left,,,, They would never wish and Harm to come to any one or group of people, The left only wants peace, Total Government Control of our lives and of-course the Largest Welfare Country ever
Only if they are allowed to keep their monies and we bow to their every Whim!

In the aftermath of the Family Research Council shooting, prominent voices on the Left have not tapped down their violent rhetoric against their opponents. Two Baby Boomer celebrities have taken to Twitter to hope pro-life, pro-family individuals and U.S. Congressman Todd Akin suffer a drowning or a same-sex rape, respectively.

Even has Wrong as Todd Akin's comments were,,, he is still in America,,,,, as of now,,,,,,

On Sunday, Ellen Barkin expressed her hope that Tropical Storm Isaac would smash up the Republican National Convention in Tampa and drown all its delegates.

Yes,,,,,, Let's Drown every one that has a Different Opinion than yourself!

She retweeted the message of one of her followers that read: “C’mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean! #RNC ” Barkin did not express any disagreement in her retweet.

Who are these people? OH,,, She's important,,,,, she knows all about life and politics and the wants and needs of other people,,,,,,,She's An Actress!!!!!!
I know, I know,,,,, it's Fox News so it's all a LIE!

Aaah, there are fewer things more intolerant of anyone who disagrees with them than liberals.

Be nice if a storm also came along and did the same to the DNC. Since the only one left from either party would be Ron Paul there would be no opposition and clear sailing to the White House.

Celebrities are now the voice of the entire Liberal movement?

Really?

What a lame attempt at partisan hack divisionism. The left and the right are all the same people, to say that any of them are better than the rest is nonsense.

It is kind of hilarious that people use isolated events to blanket statement millions of people. Hell I'm not even a liberal and I'm offended at the notion that those people would 'represent' liberals accross the country.

On twitter no less...

Other than this, who has heard anything about Ellen Barkin lately?

Me thinks she's just 'Barkin up the wrong tree for attention!

Ah and here we have the ATS liberal moderator, here to down play anything that's at all critical of the people on his side. You do know Obama trots out Hollywood constantly because they support him, right? You do know the media constantly does the same?

I'm a liberal and I find her comment deplorable and despicable. If I could, I would give her a piece of my mind about how I think her comments just lower herself to the level of the likes of Jerry Fallwell who blamed pro-choicers and the LGBT community for Katrina and 9/11. To wish for ANYONE's death is unbecoming of any human being no matter how much you disagree with their politics/beliefs.

However, to attribute this women's comments to an entire group of people is in error. I would think ATSers would have learned that by now. I also think it is in error for the Democrats to work so hard to attribute Akin's asinine, backwards, factually incorrect comments to all conservatives and will only serve to hurt them in the end.

This forum, the Democrats, the left and the MSM regularly do this to the GOP and without any of the condemnation. Care to explain that?

You know, as soon as someone actually hopes osmething that dumb, I know the hurricane isn't going to do crap.

Kind of the opposite of: Even God couldn't sink this ship!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, and to hit Tampa that badly, it's got to hit the coast just right, and that means putting the Decadence festival in the past of this thing ON THE FREAKING COAST!
But then, Why in the world would any sane person host a festival on the weekend that has the most hurricanes? lol Some people bring it upon themselves.
Well she is wrong for saying that, but then again it is kind of expected that a washed up actress that hasn't had a job in years would say anything just to have that spotlight back. Personally I do find it funny that the God squad has had their convention delayed, but I really do not want to see anyone hurt. If you can't win on policy, then your policy is flawed it is that simple. No amount of hurt people or dead bodies can change that.
I'm not a liberal, I'm a conservative.
Please leave my membership status out of this conversation, it is nothing to do with the topic, and is Adhominem.
And I don't care what Obama trotts out as support for his nonsense. Either way, celebrities are NOT the representatives of the Liberal movement. Just like the Tea Party aren't the representatives of real conservatives.
The poster didn't downplay anything. He/she was pointing out the OP's error in trying to attribute this woman's statements to an entire group of people and pointed out his/her belief that it is extremely partisan to do so. But this is the Political Madness forum so whatever, I guess.
Ah and here we have a typical ATS member devoted to perpetuating the two-party false dichotomy.
Notice how he labels others as liberals even when they state themselves that they are not liberal, and attacks those who think critically about the topic of discussion rather than instantly taking sides and engaging in partisan bickering.
Did you not see my condemnation of the Democrats for doing that? I have no room to try to explain the actions of those you seem to have a serious problem with. Ask them. As for me, I already said that they are wrong for doing so just like the OP is wrong for trying to attribute some actress very wrong and deplorable comments to all liberals as if she speaks for them.
I don't go to Hollywood to inform my opinions and doubt anyone else does either so who cares what she says. It is just talk. America allows all sorts of nuts to express their nut views.
Now if she donates actively to groups that support and advocate for the killing of gay-bashers, homophobes, etc., as does Chik-fil-A for the opposite, then we have a problem.
Ellen Barkin is a leader of the Left? I guess you being Chinese and living in Arizona you have not figured out the left yet. I can't find where she represents the left any where. Shes just a Hollywood weirdo. But she was married to a guy who says he was raped by priest as a child. He was a actor to. But I don't know how that could mean she represents the Left. She has a brother who wrote for High Times and National Lampoon But I can't figure out how that represents the Left either. Oh wait she was married to a Ronald Perelman. On May 4, 2008, on The O'Reilly Factor, commentator Bill O'Reilly named Perelman an "American Patriot" for this gift during the program's "Pinheads and Patriots" segment. Now I can see where she represents the Left? Wait that should be the Right! Wow you were confused being Chinese and all she represents the Right.
