Sarah Palin: Dems addicted to ‘hope-ium’

Sarah Palin apparently has coined a new codeword for delusional and misguided Democrats.

She refers to those who were unknowingly sucked in by the Obama gag 4 years ago.

With all the economic prisoners taken over the last 4 years, it's a wonder Obama even has 30 million votes.

Sarah Palin on Monday said Democrats who “still have that addiction to the hope-ium” President Barack Obama peddled four years ago need to “open their eyes” and vote for Mitt Romney this November.

“Some of us had [Obama] pegged four years ago. Remember when he promised to fundamentally transform America? We knew right then during the campaign that we were in for a world of hurt under Obama’s failed liberal socialist policies that he would really ram down our throats,” Palin told Fox News’s Sean Hannity on Monday night. “So nothing comes as a surprise to me when I hear the tone that President Obama is taking in his campaign.” ....

I wonder how many "hanging chads" will be counted this election ?

Democrats are misguided- and the republicans are corrupt to the core.

I think they do well together.

At this point, nothing they can say or do can shock me anymore. Not after this election cycle.

Its one thing to have faith in someone whos true to their word- its another to have faith in someone who hasnt proven themselves.

Obama and Bush destroyed this country. Why should we give either of them a chance anymore?

What can they possibly say that can convince me that they deserve another shot?

What they have convinced me of- is that they are completely dangerous.
More so than any terrorist could ever be.

I voted for the lesser of two idiots last election cycle... wont happen again.
Waste of my time and effort.

'Hope-ium' isn't a new term. I remember seeing it back in 2007/2008.
And I think fit a lot of Americans back then ... high on hope-ium.
Did you ever see the South Park Episode 'About last night'??
Wikipedia - About Last Night
Watch Episode Here

Randy and the rest of the O-bots high on hope-ium .. party and party expecting 'change'.
The McCain supporters are all getting into their end of the world bunkers.
But in the end they all realize the world didn't end AND Obama doesn't change anything.
Everything is the same.

This one is even better
The kids of Southpark have to get a new mascot. This mirrors the elections in the country that are going on. In the end, they realize that both choices suck and always have ... good episode.

I don't know how she's taking credit for this when I first heard it here 4 years ago. I know FlyersFan said it a long time ago. FF, you should get credit for this word, IMO.
Here's a post from 2008 (not FF), using the word...
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Sorry, Sarah. You're not relevant today, if you ever were.

And I heard Reince Priebus, the DNC Chair, talking about how people have so much "hope" about a Romney presidency yesterday. Dread is more like it...

Hope-ium hysteria doesn't fit in this election. It did in 2004. Not this time.
And i agree a lot with BH on Palin. She was relevant in 2008 because she was on the ticket.
But now .. her audience is very small and 'specialized'. Kind of like Glenn Beck or Alan Colmes.

I don't know... I think MANY people who will be voting for Romney are immersed in "hope" that he can get rid of Obama and make the "change" that they want. Isn't that really what every election is about? Hope and Change? Obama just made it the "official" slogan for his first campaign.

After all, what else are Romney supporters voting on? Romney hasn't laid out his opinions or plans for ANYTHING. We're not even sure how he feels about the most important issues. What do they want? HOPE that he'll be a CHANGE from Obama.

Romney Hope - It's the Anti-Obama Hopium...

Really?
I see a bunch of republicans holding their noses and voting for Romney just because they see him as a 'lesser of evils' choice than Obama. I'm not seeing excitiement. I'm not evem seeing lawn signs or bumper stickers. (well .. I did see ONE ... ONE Romney sticker .. that's it)

I'm not seeing the 'party' that I saw in 2008 from the democrats either. I think that SouthPark episode from 2008 that I linked was awesome .... the dems partying and mindlessly screaming 'change .. change' and the republicans hitting the fall out shelters with their supplies expecting the apocolypse.

Palin refering to democrat 'hope-ium' ... kinda outdated to me. But whatever ....

Gee, she is so clever. What an American treasure and personification of the ideal. [sarcasm]

I much prefer being addicted to hopium than being addicted to dopium and dystopium, as the Right seems to be as they glorify the dumbest among them and pine for a dystopian America.

Yes, they aren't excited, but they're still extremely attached to the hope of getting Obama out and changing all his policies that they hate.

Maybe "hate-ium" is more appropriate.

being addicted to dopium and dystopium,

I like that! Hope-ium ... dopium ... dystopium ... (oh what a list we could make!!)
All dysfunctional. All Irrational. And yet ... people around the world blindly engage in it.

I've gotta go with the previously mentioned dystopium .... The whole world system = dystopium. The more I'm thinking about it .. the more I think it's accurate. Instead of 'Zomblieland' as my ATS listed location .. perhaps Dystopium would be more accurate. (although I think zombieland fits pretty well too!

Isn't her son on some new reality show where people pretend to be soldiers and bad asses. Could be he took some hope-ium for an acting career. Seems a side effect is becoming 'lame'.

So far Todd Palin is doing really well.

2 cast members almost drowned because of the equipment on their back.

BTW, they are using real bullets on the show for realism.
