On Sol 19 I found this intriguing image by Curiosity ChemCam. What are these 5 holes? And what that strange object with 2 parallel lines of holes nearby?

The holes (scroll bar)

The object with parallel holes (scroll bar)

Has Curiosity finally found trace of civilization on the Red Planet?

Nasa is waiting to launch the news?

I saw the title and rolled my eyes, thinking, another one of these ridiculous claims of seeing something unatural in one of the photos, that obviously isn't....

But I must admit, THIS does look..... unatural.
Interesting. Good find!

There are also two parallel lines to the right of the holes almost reminds me of teeth. I don't know if its not natural but it is interesting nice find.

Looks like we are not the only ones probing Mars rocks to me.

Just how large are these holes coming from a ChemCam: Remote Micro-Imager.
Sounds like very small perhaps not even visible to the eye. Interesting to know more about them for sure.

Those could also be holes made by the laser...

Nice catch, Arken!

Mike Singh would be so proud right now.

IMO, those formations do not look natural. I have no clue what they could be, however.

Good one, dude!

Nice, object like this is good to discuss instead of a rock... anyway... my guess is the sampling probes on the Rover? have they started that process yet?

Or, a life form that uses acid to obtain miniscule trace elements for it's diet....my imagination had to go there....

I was referring to the laser on the rover they use to sample minerals. But you might be right could be made by a life form to who knows. LOL

Yes, I think you could well be correct.

I have been saying for years that there is a huge tiny-sized civilization living on the planet and even contacted NASA in relation to my hypothesis way back in 2008.

Kind of like that episode of the twilight zone called the "Little People" when they land on a planet and their is a population of tiny people ...

Really interesting and thread worthy. It took me a while to see that other set of small holes running in parallel. I can't imagine any type of erosion or randomness that could create multiple series of five hole lines with each set being different sized holed. I can't wait to hear scientists chime in on theories. Thanks for sharing and keep us posted.

Arken could you take a look at the new thumbnail highlighted in red (sol 19) The picture is showing a pattern of sorts. See what you think? I did enlarge it and am curious to see what others think.

Fracking on Mars.

Seriously though, could NASA have probed the soil in that area, and then taken a pic after they had probed?

Scuse me if I sound ignorant but... do these 5 holes cover an area the size of a dime, or are they a mile apart? How can one tell? The rover takes close ups and panaramic views.

The image before this one shows the same rock face with out the 5 holes.

Looks like the work of the laser.
