I guess it's to early in the saga or late in the night , but not much info forthcoming -

There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries after the quake struck at 10:37 p.m. Sunday. The earthquake was located 86 miles (138 kilometers) south-southwest of San Miguel, the USGS reported on its web site. The temblor took place at a depth of 32.9 miles (53 kilometers).

Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place, at the wrath of the Lord of hosts in the day of his fierce anger.

yes of course why didnt we all see it, this is the begining of the end times,
oh woe is us, this quakes have wiped out the whole of the non believers,
repent and ye shall be saved ya'll. you know cause these are the most
powerful ones we have ever had, you know while your waiting for the
world to end at least do some real good instead of posting religious
babel, its been the end of the world since before jesus supposedly
walked the earth and yet still here we are.

i cant imagine how difficult it is to live with that ever present weight of
expecting the end times, people who live this way might as well already
be dead, thats all they really wish for anyway.

(everything above this is sarcasm just to be clear, i no more believe this is the
end times than the fellow who quoted me below, also i dont believe in religion
at all.)

i truly hope no tsunami was generated, i have many friends and family
members working in the mission field in honduras, mexico and
guatemala. this isnt the end of the world but it is a big deal.

wow...not where I expected it...look out Alaska

Actually i dont expect it to hit alaska, think further south maybe. And from the depth of this one expect another over a 6.0 along the same run to be more shallow in depth within say a few days give or take a day.

If one goes off further north along that magnitude i'd be surprised. Also look at volcano activity, if there are none rumbling in the area of the jolt, then expect what I stated above. Right now the plate is still correcting pressure and may not only effect this side of the Pacific. Wouldn't be surprised if another good one kicks off around Indonesia honestly...plates thinner there and the release of pressure is like running water. It moves to the path of least resistance.

Idk y people quote scriptures like they are made for every occasion... Earthquake = Bible quote. Hurricane = Bible quote Anything is pretty much followed by a damn quote of this "End times" crap. I may believe in God but you guys annoy the **** outta me. Most people spewing about 'Non believers' are gonna be still standing right along with them when "End times" actually do happen. People should be worrying about themselves.

Maybe Mexico is going to break away from the states. Least it will solve the cartel and illegal aliens entering the United States. [Snide humor].

Hope everyone is ok.

This was a big shaker and it is important to note that it was preceded by a swarm of 300 smaller quakes..

The quake comes after a swarm of more than 300 quakes Sunday in Imperial County, including at least two greater than 5.0 magnitude. Those temblors caused minor damage and forced evacuations from some buildings.

Fortunately, it was 70 miles offshore...

The Tsunami that struck Fukashima was "natural" too.
It also KILLED ALOT of people.

But, I'm sure the fact that it is natural will calm the people down who live near this quake.
You are dangerously close to minimizing the fears of all those who this could potentially affect.

Educating people about what is natural, and what is to be expected as a result, is one step towards mitigating ignorance.

Replies here and across the Internet are rampant with ill-informed people crying about the beginning of the end of times. Why? Because of something natural happening?

Of course natural stuff can be dangerous and fatal. No one denies that. You are pushing words around....and just keeping people under stress. There's a difference between educating people and trying to "scare them straight" through exaggerations and fear mongering.
