Seriously though!!! I hope this isn't leading up to something more cataclysmic. I don't keep track of the data enough to know if all of this activity is normal or not....but it sure is a bit scary sitting around worrying if "The Big One" is lurking below bigger and closer than ever.

It seems when the total earthquake number per week drops below one fifty on the USGS website that there is a bunch of little quakes or a bigger one a lot of times. That is the only way I can predict anything. Movement of the plates needs to occur regularly or it jolts.

Thanks for the info - initial reports obviously incorrect.

“This earthquake appears to be a slow earthquake with additional tsunami potential. Therefore a warning is being issued.”

Not sure what that means?

What would happen if an big time earthquake strikes with a destructive Tsunami that was caused in Japan along with powerful Hurricane like Katrina in the same location, I would hate to even think about it to be honest...

As had been said in the original thread about the California quakes, this is all natural.

Of course this is not finished yet. The world and its people will experience this stuff for as long as the planet is around. Chill out, folks. Don't over think this so much.

Another in California, and then a 3.0 in Hawaii, normally I show around 223 EQ on the 7 day NECI RSS feed… today it’s at 279 and still going up… wow

I don't get what it means either.

I have extended family in el Salvador. My daughter tried to tell one of the relatives here in regards to her family there, but she didn't understand English. Sure hope they got the warnings in case one does happen

The Tsunami that struck Fukashima was "natural" too.
It also KILLED ALOT of people.

But, I'm sure the fact that it is natural will calm the people down who live near this quake.
You are dangerously close to minimizing the fears of all those who this could potentially affect.
