BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) underwent a hernia operation at a U.S.-run hospital inside Baghdad's Green Zone two weeks ago
and has made a full recovery, a U.S. military official said Wednesday.
The former Iraqi president, who was captured by U.S. forces on Dec. 13 last year, had previously received treatment for hernia problems and had
suffered discomfort in recent weeks.

Hussein has had a past problem with hernia's, and it is reported that he was suffering discomfort and pain from the hernia. The operation lasted a
little more than an hour and afterwards was returned to his cell. Treatment was recieved in Ibn Sina hospital which is known for also recieving
wounded U.S. soldiers from all over the country.
Hussein was previously treated in July for hernia and kidney problems, he is expected to face trial for crimes including genocide next year.
