Well its not a perfect world is it? Life isn't fair is it? So lets stick with reality and the facts of the matter. Its her body her choice. If it was his body, it would be his choice.

Abortions are not a great experience, you don't pose for a picture afterwards so you can look back when your older and say "Yeah, how awesome was that" Im not talking about the rights and wrongs of abortion, im talking about a woman's right to her own body.

This has NOTHING to do with being "progressive" Its about a woman having rights to her own reproductive organs. This topic is not political. Its about acknowledged and respecting a woman and her rights to her body.

Again, this is not about her organs. This is about the child. We are not interested in your vagina.

but you dont have a right to force another human being against her will to bring the child to term.

Yeah but no woman has the right to force fatherhood on a man who doesn't want to be a father either.

Heeeey! Well you know what? It's all good. I'm going to start having sex with as many women as I can and I don't even have to take responsibility for the child if she has one.

No. That is not the way either. That is also unfair. Both male and female have to take responsibility.

I think both people have already proven their irresponsibility once an unwanted pregnancy has occured.
And we aren't living in Victorian times when women were virgins until marriage. Females have sex for pleasure just as much as men do.
The only diffence is one has control of whether it leads to parenthood and the other doesn't as it currently stands.

Well honestly the world would be a much better place if women and men waited until they have married. Otherwise I agree with the rest.

You seem to be confused.

The pro-life position isn't about men having rights over women's reproductive organs...it's about advocating for rights of all living humans...including unborn humans.

Well you seem to have stumbled into the wrong thread because im talking about a woman's right to control her reproductive organs. That right shouldn't be taken away because she is pregnant or because the father wants her to carry the child to term.

It's a very simple position...

It really is. Her body, her choice.

one side advocates for the legal murder of innocent humans...and one is against the legal murder of innocent humans.

Not talking about abortion, talking about a woman's right to control her reproductive organs.

I feel comfortable with my position...I don't even have to make any justifications for it or try to dehumanize the unborn human to make myself feel better...that's not the case with people who support abortion.

Seriously, abortion is not the focus of this thread.

Well correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we all discussing this situation from the the starting point that both decided to have sex. Because if we are talking about rape it's a completely different approach.

I am not really sure how you feel it is either. Where is that outlined anywhere other than the growing opinions? I do not see where it is about consensual sex or rape. I thought it was about pregnancy? Pregnancy is something that arises from a variety of situations, not just consensual sex between married partners. Maybe I missed something in the OP.

There is a soul involved here and it is being erased from the equation by the two people responsible for it. Do you have a soul? Where do you think your sentience comes from? Do you think it's just your brain, or do you see the bigger picture?

If your god does not take that soul to heaven then he is a far greater asshole than any mom or dad that decide to abort.

You're talking about reproductive rights. That involves a child because without the child there is no issue.

You are right. Well in any case somebody should outline what scenario we are talking about. Because the rules of the game can change drastically depending on it.

Yep. Because we are talking about babies and vaginas if I'm not mistaken.

sORRY i DON'T BUY IT.
The "progressive agenda" has always been mimicking and poking away at a certain group in society. At this point, IMO, saying that the mothers' rights trump a babys' rights, is just prejudice. Nobody knows when the SOUL officially enters the fetus, and it's futile to even discuss it anyways because this issue isn't abortion, it's selfishness at the core of humanity.
Idiots who can't afford babies and don't appreciate them, breed like rabbits, meanwhile the rest of use slowly become sterile and broke paying for others' "rights"
Responsible and truly progressive people don't even risk the chance of getting pregnant unless they're ready.
Throwing babies in the garbage isn't progressive. We're currently dealing with the overabundance of cats and dogs and putting them asleep for doing whats natural

She had no family, no place to live, no car, no job, no where to go. Had I not been there to drive her to her emergency C-section, my son wouldn't be here right now.

I'm just curious, why did you choose to behave in a way that might create a baby with a woman who was already demonstrating irresponsibility and poor choices?

While I'm happy for your son that you stepped up to the plate, there's something to be said for thinking ahead...unless you or the woman is sterile, there is a chance that birth control will fail, and then it's the actions of the parents that determines the future of the child. Will (does) your son know his mom bailed? How will you (or did you) explain that to him?

He can't escape the fact that his mother didn't want him. He has to come to terms with that. It's terrific that he's got a supportive father, but it's appalling that his mom was insufficiently invested in the concept of being a mother to begin with. "Cute"? She thought it was "cute"?

It's a major life-changing event, and not a chance that should be taken lightly. Good on you for providing and being responsible. Now, if only you'd done so with a woman of stronger character who had a track-record for tenacity and determination....you might have a fully-populated "family".

A little simply biology might help here.
Without my reproductive organs, there is no child to be concerned about. See, it is my reproductive organs that make that child a possibility.

No, im talking about the MOTHER who actually EXISTS and has FEELINGS and OPINIONS on how a pregnancy would effect her life. Its not rocket science to understand that she's the key to this issue. She is the Ring barer. She is judge and jury. She is GOD because its HER body. Simple really.

You sound happy to treat a woman like a bank - Put in an invest in against her will and withdraw it 9 months later. You think women were put here just for you or something?
