So you're saying these races live at depths of 800km? In the the lower mantle with temperatures of around 2000K and pressures of around 30 GPa?

OP and someone else mentioned ringing in their ears. I have been experiencing that as well lately. I remember a couple months ago I woke up in the middle of the night to this low frequency humming going through my apartment. My lights, which were off- were sort of glowing. My ears were ringing and I remember feeling this...discomfort.
The ear ringing thing happens on and off. It's the worst when I am laying in bed at night, trying to fall asleep.
