and permanently deleted my Facebook Account. I think I had around 300 "friends", of which only about maybe 5-10 were actual friends.

Interestingly enough, even when you delete the account, FB still gives you 14 days to change your mind.

It's been a week so far and I don't really miss it. Plus, it gives me more time to spend on ATS.

Anybody else recently do this?

Yes - I did it a week after joining ATS.
Best thing I ever did.
Feels good doesn't it?

Yes!

I hope you took the time to delete everyone from your friends' list along with all of your comments, likes, and photos. If not, your account will never truly be closed.

You, my dear friend, deserve a beer.

Let me open one for you ... hic!

Well done, I've never had an account with foozebook but deleting one is worth a little more kudos. Congrats!

ps, so what will you do with the 25 hours a week you reclaimed?

First: Deleted every update, friend, image, tag, etc.
Second: Changed all the info that couldn't be nulled to silly pirate related things.
Finally: Deleted the profile and never looked back.

Did the same for LinkedIn and others.

Congrats on cutting the umbilical!

Hmmmmm, that bothers me.

Should I re-activate the account, delete all of that, then re-delete the account?

I thought you meant the "marriage" plunge...

I believe more people are seeing the trend and doing the same.

As for me, I never signed up...thank God.
I hear I'm not missing much.
Besides crap gossip and who's who.

Which I really don't give a flying *%#& about.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I'd be *very* surprised if Facebook didn't keep archives of the data regardless of how much you delete or change. The main thing you've accomplished is re-opening yourself up to engaging in people for real again, and making it so those who truly want to know what you're up to having to... you know... actually talk to you.

EDIT: That said... It does feel good to see a totally blank profile when hitting the delete button.

I would, yes. LOL...as a matter of fact, that is exactly what I did.

Ergo mentioned some things that I forgot:

Besides when anything really gets going there,
someone will invariably bring it here for ATS to throw up on anyway.
