Why does everything have to break down on a friday? So far this year,
my water heater broke down and flooded by basement on a friday. The
sump pump broke down and flooded our basement two days after my
husband had cancer surgery on a friday evening...late.

This morning I had just logged onto my computer.I had my second load of
laundry in the washer.I heard some kind of noise upstairs and suddenly
it was raining in my basement.Mama's office is down in the basement.
There was water all over my filing cabinets and was soaking into my carpet.

Being a typical woman,I called my husband at work needing him to come
home! He came home checked everything out and we started calling plumbers.
We finally heard back from one and he came over to our house. This plumber
had us flushing toilets, running water in all the sinks, running my washer...
Not one drop of water, not one! He guessed that something must have been plugged
up and it took care of itself.

Everything always seems to happen on a friday around my house.Rant over

My wife and I came home from our honeymoon to find our hot water tank sprung a leak out the bottom. We live In a modular to so that fiber board just soaked it up. Add no homeowners insurance to the scenario and $800 water bill, And I too fear Fridays! Good luck to you

Sorry you are having a bad day.
I have to deal with stuff like this allll the time and it does suck.
The first rule plumbers have is never work on water on a Friday so it sucked for him too.

The last time i had a major problem was on a Friday,we cut the pipe open because water was backing up into the bathtub, toilet and sink and wouldn't stop.
After we cut the pipe open,we found a kingcan of beer that some idiot stuffed in the roof vent years ago...it took this long until I got the repercussions of that idiots actions.

I feel your pain and the plumbers as well.
I hate dealing with floods, especially on Friday.

(I run buildings for a living,I am not a plumber)

Living in a house that was built in 1926, i'll have to agree, problems always happen at once it seems. I seem to get hit alot on fridays too. Today it was a backed up drain for me. Luckily I got to it before it got too bad. Now if I can just get up and fix the leak on my roof.

I don't fear fridays,I was born on a friday night. When things break down
on a friday, you usually have to wait until monday to get anyone over to
fix the problem.

WOW. I hope it gets better - or got better I should say.

I have had "one of those weeks" myself. I don't know if I am just overworked, overwhelmed, tired, or getting old... but I can't seem to remember where I put anything these days. I have lost several important things this week.

Have you ever thought about taking a few Fridays and planning a "happy" day where there is little chance something will go wrong. As another poster said, you need to change the subconscious connection to Friday that exists in your mind. Right now, might be a self-fulfilling prophecy! You need to start planning some "Happy Friday" memories!

You will never guess what happened saturday evening?
Yes,I have another plumbing problem this one is worse.
My husband took his shower and everything was ok.I
took my shower and the shower wasn't draining.I went
downstairs to my office and sure enough it was raining
again.
We plunged the toilets and they flushed alright, they flushed
up into the masterbath shower. The shower in the back of the
house had red water standing in it.We couldn't figure out
where the red water came from.I went back into the kitchen
and saw the jug I had emptied earlier down the kitchen sink,
It was red kool-aid.
So far,the toilets are backing up into the master shower and
the kitchen is backing up into the other shower. We have called
a plumber and so far no one has returned our calls.I think that
my house is now considered a toxic waste dump.I don't know
what all will have to be done to clean this mess up.

How is your week-end going? I hope better than mine.
