I agree w/ your post and your closing remarks about repubs. I want to say that I think most of them are out of touch w/ the little guy. Remember Ma bush and her comments towards Katrina victims? I also feel most all in the house these days are out of touch. Their elitists...they don't know about our common problems.

Romney and his wife seem to be very elitist and no where in tune w/ the average American....don't get me started on Bush=Obama.

Anyways...you always hit subjects right on the mark. I like what you have to say most of the time..

There are many people who still raise their children to understand that sex is about affection and respect.

"You don't ever hit a girl - ever", No, means, No.

Not that women can't "rape" a man either. Sex is about love, affection, and respect.

Im always surprised and disgusted when a thread about rape pops up and a bunch of people scurry into the thread to inform the rest of us that rape isnt that common, most women are lying, or that kost of the women deserve it because they are ask7ng for it. Sick idiots.

Well thank you that was very nice. I dont know how I feel about Romney, well actually Imdo but it would take to long to post. Its complicated. The republicans have gone so far intomcrazy territory I cant even defend them to irritate the liberals anymore.

I meant to say Im sorry for what you went through. It must still hurt but I think youve obviously come out strong.

Unfortunately, it really come down to the 'other' side of political choices on the ballot seeming worse, at least in too many cases for me. That is certainly why both sides need to go and across the board. I figure the House of Representatives comes up for a vote every two years and the Senate comes up to a re-election at 1/3 of them every 2 years.

6 years and we could flip the whole thing for new people, if people cared to work together and get these idiots out.

I just realized though in looking at this guys Wiki page (that the OP is about), he isn't the U.S. Congress, he's a Idaho State rep from Boise. It doesn't lessen the poor folks in Idaho having to live under this, but somehow I feel a bit better he isn't at the national level.

O definetly I'm a strong individual....however.. ( I am not fishing for sympathy..if anything..it tends to errk me..).I want people to understand that when it does happen to a child, girl, woman, man...it never ever goes away. I know I can't change the mind of an abuser...although you never know...I want them to understand how cruel their actions are and that, as I said...it never goes away. No, I'm not a victim...but I'm sick of people thinking we should just get over it...you can't take the pics out of your mind...

Anyways, thanks for the kind words....

And you better hurry on the Romney decision...lol I feel if anyone lies, deceits just one time....I don't want them to run our Country. Is there anyone w/ morals these days?

Maybe you should look into the Mormons. Not the way out fringe, child-rape mormons? that aren't the mainstream Mormons. I'm not a Mormon, I'm Christian, but not that I haven't been around the po - I was going to write pole, but I'm not a stripper either! Ha, Ha,

They aren't bad people, though I completely disagree with their theology.

You say you're disgusted with Repubs, but look at the Dems.

How much sexulization of children and women do we, as a society, want to endure?

The Dems, and, of course, Obama, with their wanton alliance with Hollywood, do we want to embrace?

It makes me sick! Sex, Sex, shallow, shallow materialism and Sex.

Actually...I said I despise all in the white house..most all are out of touch w/ us...

I'm not in a party,...I think dividing us has hurt us. We should all think as one using the majority vote.If I wasn't clear..I apologize.

Anyways, you get a star...it makes me sick to. Hollywood and tv has desensitized us to a lot of things...morals and values in the house? Not anymore.

Btw..I don't get the Mormon comment at all...( kinda freaked me out lol) I'm Christian also...bottom line...how would Mormon help me? Maybe we should just leave it alone? lol

no offense intended here Happy1 but how can you place sex and materialism on the same playing field with rape ??
do you really think either leads to the other ?

materialism doesn't have anything to do with rape or those who commit it.
sex, well in as much as sex is a part of rape, it is not the purpose of rape.

please don't misunderstand (as i may have already), i am no fan of materialism or rape.
i just don't understand how you'd think one has anything to do with the other.

ETA: see, here's the thing ... i am one of those exceptions.
i have been a victim of rape on 3 separate occasions.
once as a minor that produced a child that was forcibly aborted.
(forcibly = not permitted to decide for myself)
once as a parent escaping an abusive relationship that also produced a child who was miscarried at 4+ months.
and again as the spouse seeking divorce (although legally separated when it occurred) - no conception

so, for something so rare, how is it that any one person (in this case me) should be questioned or judged by some bureaucrat who clearly has no clue ??

I'm a victim, too. I was beat too a pulp in front of my 5 year-old son and left for dead. The surgeons wanted a picture of me to know how to put my face back together. 24 years old.

I'm also a psychiatric nurse in Wi and our unit had the first 980 law to hold sex offenders longer than their original sentences.

To have a grown man wag his finger at you and say that he had consensual sex with a 5 year old child is almost more than one can bear. "She was sitting on my lap, and kissing me."

People who can think like that need to be removed from society. And there's a lot more than you think there are.

Rape is not a crime of sex, Rape is a crime of Power, of Owning something. Thus the materialism.

Remember..we're leaving it alone...lol

Thank-you again..you're awesome.

And to the post below..he was saying he's sick of shallow, materialistic, no moral people
yes, i got that but Happy1 also included sex in that list and i disagree.
i don't believe sex, sexuality or the promotion of sexually explicit materials lead to rape, ever.

i don't believe victims of rape who seek abortions are "shallow".
and, i don't believe for a moment that any of them have anything to do with rape or the effects of it.

also, if the victims are the "people with no morals", i disagree.
so, if i am to agree with her statement, i have to be specific about whom those adjectives describe.

edit on 24-8-2012 by Honor93 because: fixed gender as i just read it ... sorry Ma'am

uh, pardon me for saying so but BULLSHIZZLE.
power and control sure but materialism ??? not even in the same ballfield.

materialism ??? do you even know what that word entails ?
please, enough with the hyperbole, the acts of rapists are bad enough on their own.

i've NEVER heard of a rapist buying a piece of arse, have you?
i've NEVER heard of rapsists comparing their conquests (well on tv maybe) to see who has the latest model. and i've NEVER heard of or had a rapist pay damages/restitution or medical bills associated with their minute leakage.

and THIS ^^^ is why i usually stay away from these threads ... have fun guys

I certainly didn't want to offend with the Mormon comment. I don't feel that strongly about it.

I know there are a lot of survivors like you and me.... I just wish there weren't so many current and future victims.

And wish the laws would do even more to stop it. Especially child victims.

I don't have a problem with porn either -- my boyfriends the porn king, I'm afraid Ha Ha.

And I agree with the rest of your post.

I'm saying that people who rape are wanting power and control, to "own" their victim.

Has little to do with "sex" and a lot to do with poor self-esteem.

Not saying that our schools should deal with esteem building ------ that's another whole area.

and, which laws have ever stopped a crime from occurring ??

btw, thanks for the public diss ... as usual, we're just a statistic (you know the real victims & survivors), apparently we are just decoratives on the fabric of this nation

So if a woman goes to a physician with a "rape issue", this moron wonders whether these women even know what getting thrown to the ground and sexually violated means?

Of course not. You are lacking important reading comprehension skills. He asks if women even know what rape is as a way to explain that women are misusing the term as it applies to his double ultrasound law.

He is in no way suggesting that women who are raped don't know the difference between rape and normal sexual relations. It boggles the mind how you could even derive that from the above.

The feds can pick up a vet for posting something on facebook that is "anti-gov't", but they can't pick up the child porners that are posting on facebook? See the articles "pedo-bear" on facebook.

I don't understand the rest of your post. Maybe I need to read the beginning of the thread again. Sorry, I'm not arguing, I don't know. A bit scattered tonight reading other threads also, I apologize.
