Study that has predicted the Presidential Election since 1980 says - ROMNEY

A study out of the University of Colorado has picked the winner of the Presidential election since 1980. This time they say Mitt Romney will win. Here's some of what they said:

A University of Colorado analysis of state-by-state factors leading to the Electoral College selection of every U.S. president since 1980 forecasts that the 2012 winner will be Mitt Romney.

The key is the economy, say political science professors Kenneth Bickers of CU-Boulder and Michael Berry of CU Denver. Their prediction model stresses economic data from the 50 states and the District of Columbia, including both state and national unemployment figures as well as changes in real per capita income, among other factors.

“Based on our forecasting model, it becomes clear that the president is in electoral trouble,” said Bickers, also director of the CU in DC Internship Program.

According to their analysis, President Barack Obama will win 218 votes in the Electoral College, short of the 270 he needs. And though they chiefly focus on the Electoral College, the political scientists predict Romney will win 52.9 percent of the popular vote to Obama’s 47.1 percent, when considering only the two major political parties.

Their model correctly predicted all elections since 1980, including two years when independent candidates ran strongly, 1980 and 1992. It also correctly predicted the outcome in 2000, when Al Gore received the most popular vote but George W. Bush won the election.

The study will be published this month in PS: Political Science & Politics, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Political Science Association. It will be among about a dozen election prediction models, but one of only two to focus on the Electoral College.

At the end of the day, it's about the economy. Obama is more concerned about bringing Americans "collective salvation" and "fundamentally changing and transforming" America through his Statist, Marxist ideology rather than jobs and deficits.

The problem with predictions though is that they are almost never right...

I have no clue how they forcasted Romney as the winner, assuming of course the electoral college pays attention to what the public's votes say. His overall rating is crap right now and unless he has some tricks up his sleeve its not likely he will win.

Actually no his over all is just a few points lower than Obama. I just got done looking at the diagram and if it keeps going the way it's going now Romney will win this election.

The right gave us;
A Credit downgrade
Kept the bankers from any real check and balances.
Green jobs and infrastructure were killed.
Stimulus squashed and much more.
Job one was to make him a one term president
not help America. Treasonous if you ask me.

The economy is the number one issue this election. And for some reason the American citizens think Obama's doing a great job. Plus the media is on his side. That's why he'll win.

The People, especially the YOUTH felt betrayed by CHANGE. AS OBAMA HAS SOLD THEM OUT TO ILLEGALS! Obama has to becareful about ACA, Medicare, and the ECONOMY. THE SMART PEOPLE...AKA THE YOUTH, WILL NOT WANT TO BE BURDENED BY THE DEBT THAT WILL BE INCURRED DURING THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION, WITH NO ENDS TO MEET. Btw, there will be even more YOUTH VOTING this time than 2008.

I won't do all the homework and research all the time. But there is a survey/study floating around that suggests that 50% more YOUTH will vote in this election year than 2008, perhaps due to anger about the economy. TOLD YOU IT WAS THE ECONOMY, STUPID!

That collective solution would actually work well in the long run. That is exactly why it is dangerous to the powers that be. Which are still warlike, imperial and more on the republican side.

Romney's plan to revive the economy is as simple as Roosevelt's was.
Start a World War (or get some arabs to actually do some Pearl Harbor like event), then boom! sell weapons and pay the troops, get wartime financing, girdle the sheeple up with nationalism and soon you will have a booming economy.

I don't think the guy is ACTUALLY as stupid as Bush Jr. was: Tax the poor and give guifts to the rich.... While contibue outsourcing to China. HAve'nt we all seen the total failure of neoliberal economies?

I'll put in my two cents, and that is by following the trends of media : I knew Mitt would be pitt against Obama and it was all set up for Obama to win. Just by the sheer amount of attention that was shown to Mitt from the very beginning, the lack of of democratic candidates ..(I did enjoy Vermon the Supreme:loland of of course the "closed door" to third parties. The hysteria about womans' rights, medical care ,,,,,,,,religion, gays, medical benefits, .....etc All in which made Obama *sparkle*. Then occupy Wallstreeet which seemed the opposite of the tea party and it simply intrigued me that the tea party was started by multimillionaires Koch brothers and I wondered who was behind this seemingly oppositional movement.
Then there were weird factors, Stephen Colbert running campaigns against Mitt.... who was certainly getting way too much attention already.

I decided only to share all this drivel because I became convinced that Obama was going to win, and they will make the election seem like a 49-51% win again ...

. But we'll see who was played coming this election...as far as predictions go. If Mitt wins I will say a game well played ...
