Most judgments are based on morals, just as the guy claiming girls are dressing like "whores" made a moral judgment.

The bigger questions become:
Who's morals are correct? Are any moral judgments correct if people judge others based on a moral code that is not universal?

Sinny, a great many men just simply act and think in a way that is at odds with your way of thinking. You can be appauled and disgusted all you want. Just don't ever be surprised by it. I'm a man, I'm not surprised by it. I don't think that way, and I generally don't have many male friends that do.

Therein lies what might possibly be the only solution. Don't associate yourself with men who behave and think this way. I doubt men are going to change anytime soon, both because enough men actually get what they want and succeed by thinking this way, and there are too many women that accept this as the way it is and the world they have to live in to bother voicing the way they feel about it. So good on you for that.

It goes along with ages-old ideas that women are "expected" to remain pure. So if they dress in a way that may provoke a man's sexual desires... well by golly she must be filthy! Of course this is a ridiculous leap of logic (or a lack thereof). It's based on an assumption and we all know what those can do.

I tend to go to festivals where a number of women walk around nude. Do some of them arouse me? Sure. But I don't feel compelled to act on it, nor is nudity equal to an invitation for intercourse, or a glowing neon sign that reads "f*** me now".

But this is just my opinion.

I've many male friends and have 3 ex partners, they all walked around shirtless when the heat was getting unpleasant, I've honestly never known them just to do it for attention, although to some that comes as a nice bonus, IF that's what they want.

I said in a mall, which usually have air conditioning. They are looking for that kind of attention, and I've been with men who have pointed it out, when they see a man do that, in an air conditioned mall.

My point in this thread as well as the other is that women need to quit complaining about sexual attention, if they dress provocatively for the sole purpose of wanting admiration and attention for how they look.

Right on, Sinny. Too many people make a crap-ton of excuses for male behavior, but none for the women. "Boys will be boys"....And the excuses and pity for testosterone-fueled craziness continues.

What people are failing to understand is, women are objectified in western culture. Their worth is always determined by how men view her. Is it any wonder that young women these days are dressing slutty, to get the maximum approval from a gaggle of ogling males? If men don't find a woman attractive, she is nothing but a dog, not worth giving the time of day to. Men do not have this issue. With men, their worth is tied to money. Equally sad, but a topic for another thread.

We as women are continually judged by our looks. Who cares if we're smart, educated or accomplished? It's all about how sexy we are to the opposite gender. Women my age (50s) are constantly running to the plastic surgeon to surgically hide the aging process, lest our husbands run off with some younger woman. Love apparently has nothing to do with marriage. How screwed up are we as a culture if this is the norm??

Look to the societal reasons behind why even young girls are dressing slutty. The men encourage it, and elevate the value of the female who does it. The media pushes it. Y'all say you don't like sluts, but the pornography industry is a multi-BILLION dollar industry. Imagine all the men who suddenly would have hours and hours of time on their hands if internet pornography were suddenly eliminated.

Tired of it, absolutely disgusted by misogynistic creeps who defend the indefensible. Honestly, I think most men secretly hate women for the "power" they have over them.. No wonder prostitutes make so much money...the prettier and sexier the ho, the more money she makes. The money comes solely from men...and nobody is twisting their arm to part with it, either.

And the women dressing sleazy would no longer find their worth is tied to their sexual attractiveness. Then somebody would have to cook up another reason to justify rape.

Everyone primarily uses experiences to shape their beliefs, followed closely by learned behaviors.
I cannot remember which philosopher said there is no truth only perception, but just as others judgment was possibly skewed, remind yourself that yours may be as well.

pffft..there are a multitude of reasons why men rape, and to say that ALL men who have raped do it because they love the violence and hate women, is untrue and very narrow minded. To say that some women who have dressed very provocatively had nothing to do with their rape , is again wrong. I'm not saying that the women is asking to be raped, but merely saying that some men cannot control their urges, and sometimes feel a woman is giving signals that she wants sex by how she dresses, and get angry and confused when they are refused sex, therefore resort to rape.

This is wrong on the mans part, and assumptive I agree, but he is not raping her because he hates women, and he is not raping her because he loves violence. He is raping her because he can't take no for an answer ,after foolishly assuming she was advertising for sex.

I think many rapists are men who read the signals all wrong, or got confused with the yes attitude and the no reality, and their ego could not take being shut down.

I don't know what kind of man you married, or what kind of men you hang out with, but from experience I can say with absolute truth that not all men are that shallow, and many men love their 50 something wives, with love handles, and wrinkles around their eyes.

How sad that you would label all men as being that shallow.

Also i think many women get plastic surgery to appear better looking to other women, and other women will attest to that. Its more about competition with other women than pleasing their men, because their men are quite fine with how they are.
