Here is My Review of the Mormon Smear Hour Hosted By Brian Williams:

I just saw the documentary. It was absolutely horrible. I learned nothing more about the Mormon Faith. Brian Williams didn't even hide the fact that the purpose of them doing this special is simply because Mitt Romney is a mormon. In fact he opened and closed with it!!!!!

So how did they define it? Anti-Gay, Anti-Black, and Anti women. Of course they highlighted the "magic underwear," hardly going into any detail about that tradition leaving the poor Mormons who got the short straw to "star" in the smear campaign, to fend for themselves. Oh yeah and they didn't waste anytime smearing all religion in general claiming that, if you are a Mormon its no less crazy than believing, "Jesus walked on water." What? That is not even the central theme of Christianity!!!!!

Overall they featured a black man marrying into the religion, two gay people (one who acts on the Book of Mormon broadway show, and another one who became a minister), a feminist, and Abby Huntsman...The only Hunstman daughter to leave the Mormon religion!!! Hardly a non-bias look at the Mormon faith. How long did they talk about the faith and its traditions themselves??? I'd say ten minutes of the hour long special. Then, the rest were the "minorities," whining about racism and sexism...

That part was obvious. I may be reaching here, but was the parts highlighting the Mormon Stores, where poor Mormons can go to exchange work for food without any money being spent an attempt to smear them all as communists despite the claim made in the beginning of the show that many Mormons are successful business people?

I thought the show was quite tame. I guess I was expecting them to make Mitt look like a nut.
I think they probably could of come up with people that were more disgruntled. I did not hear anything that was not factual but was lacking on some of the steamy aspects of the LDS religion.

This was a stupid waste of "airtime." They could have used it more wisely.

They are doing this because they feel threatened.
Sad sad state of affairs when the news is focused on religious
discrimination...they know that "We Love Paul Ryan" is
now a top Google Search.

No one cares what religion these people are.

I very much care.

I am not voting for Romney purely on the account he is Mormon.

“The president of the United States has claimed, on more than one occasion, to be in dialogue with God. If he said that he was talking to God through his hairdryer, this would precipitate a national emergency. I fail to see how the addition of a hairdryer makes the claim more ridiculous or offensive.”
― Sam Harris, Letter to a Christian Nation

I don't want to vote in a President that will get behind discrimination against LGBT because he thinks he knows Gods thoughts. Among other related concerns.

Why does no one want to talk about the elephant in the room?

I want to know the theology that has shaped Obama's past. If Romney gets the treatment, Obama should too right?

Let's go back to Rev. Wright. That's a documentary all in itself, but I heard Obama paid him off.

Paid.....Squashed......6 of one half a dozen of the other in ILL n' NOISE.

He is shaped? How exactly is he shaped because I have seen him pro choice, then pro life. Against the NRA and then for the NRA. For socialized medicine, now against it.

I really don't think he is shaped at all.

I do think it's funny to watch conservative christians kick a pro choice christian out of office (Obama) in favor of a pro choice non-christian (Romney).

All the while a constition supporting, super candidate waits in the wings.
Vote Ron Paul. Thank you, Thank you very much.

A mormon that flip flops, worships dependence, supports indefinite detention of Americans, supports gun control, and picked a VP that wants to make the patriot act permenant?

Give me the devil any day of the week.

This is funny!

The NBC news article is talking about how Romney is avoiding talking about his religion....but the OP is concerned that Obama avoids talking about his religion??

Who cares what religion these fools are?

Maybe we need to clear up this whole mess and elect only atheists. I get so tired of the back and forth over dumb crap like this.

Personally, I don't think this is "dumb crap". I think this provides the public with wide ranging insight into each individual. If you don't care fine. But, I would like to know much more. Especially Obama's ties to domestic terrorists. More importantly his belief in Alinsky and what appears to me as his attempts to crash this economy.

Are his beliefs/ideology really that "foolish" as you say? I would suggest you are the fool.

NBC News unsuccessfully went back to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to request an interview for this week's prime-time special on the Mormon faith after he began to seem more open to talking about it.

NBC Claimed that they asked Romney for an interview about Mormonism to discover more about the faith that has shaped him. After all these years, people still have questions about what religion Obama actually is. Some say he is a Muslim, some say he is Christian, some say he isn't very religious. Which is it? NBC Why You no cover Obama?

NBC To "Cover"
Mormonism in Special

I don't support Nobama in any way, but why must he have a religion? I don't think its mandatory to have one, or did I miss something? If he wants to praise Xenu and believe that it/she/he blew up in a volcano and that's how we are here, then let him. As long as someone's religion doesn't impede on someone else's freedoms, then let them practice what makes them happy.

Agreed.

Dude.. you are being a little nutty. Why would they hide the fact that they were doing it because Romney? If they did you would be screaming "they are just doing this because Romney is a Mormon! They didn't say it, but we know it's propaganda!" Come off it.

People should know what crazy beliefs the guy trying to run the country has. Honestly I would be weary of voting for someone that buys the Mormon belief.

Mormonism is an extreme belief. I guess if a scientologist, wiccan, or satanist was running for president they wouldn't be all over that with specials explaining that they were researching it because the president. I think more people should know what Romney's beliefs are.

Also I now know never to trust a Mormon because they are flip floppers.

Where is the documentary on Communism? Or Black Liberation Theology? Or Chicago Political History?

Rhetoric and propaganda.....I thought we discussed this before.

You were even able to throw Rev. Wright in there.....good job.

I want to know the theology that has shaped Obama's past. If Romney gets the treatment, Obama should too right?

The difference is that Romney is out there campaigning on how his business experience and faith makes him qualified for the job. It is rare to hear Obama say anything of the sort.

No one cares what religion these people are.

I disagree. I am not really one, but the religious folk are a huge voting block in this country, and to ignore that guarantees your defeat.

Also.. Mormonism is anti-gay, anti-black, and anti-women.

It sincerely is. I can't deny it, you can't deny it.

You really are Romney crazed. I mean you take up as an activist for a whole religious group (once often considered a cult) because it's his religion. "Oh poor little Mormons" Forget that man. You don't know much about them. Maybe you should watch a few more docs.
