i dont have a bank account anymore and refuse to ever have one again. but for somethings you must have a bank account. for example - to buy a car you must have a bank account, and the reason why is that just to put a down payment on a car ( which most people dont have in cash sometimes you have to trade in your old car ) you need to have a good credit rating and to have a good credit rating they have to check through your bank.. how i get around this is a BIKE. no not a motorcycle, and actual BICYCLE ( much cheaper anyway). besides its harder to track a BIKE. no license plates, no GPS laden computers in your engine etc. but i digress. i prefer anonimity over anything else and not having a bank account is another step to disconnect from the system that seeks to enslave.

People have been fooled into supporting a free market system that has turned over all the power to the bankers.

People blame government for the actions of the bankers who currently run the world.

This is just how conservative ideals work.

While it's not exactly feasible to stop using a bank (or credit union) in the modern USA at this time, it is possible to avoid using a savings account. "Where does that interest come from anyway?" I asked the lady at the bank this question after she suggested I get a savings account but couldn't answer my question. (This was a few years ago when I actually had money to save)

By not using a savings account you may not get that interest, but complaining about the banks creating money out of thin air while at the same time benefiting from the process is a bit hypocritical IMO. This is why I don't use a savings account.

I also think fractional reserve lending is wrong. In more ancient times it was called "usury" and was a serious crime. As long as the banks have our money they're using it for FSL.

Another thing we can do is move our money from the banks into credit unions. From what I've read it sounds like they don't use fractional reserve lending (I need to verify this). If verified true I'm planning on transferring my account to a credit union... that is, once my account isn't in the negative anymore.

We don't have 'money' anymore, we have a debt backed fiat currency.
I wish we did have true 'money' where you could put it in a mattress and it would hold value.

As the title says there really is not that much more to say. This post is not geared towards your regular local bank teller. This thread is about the corporate elite who manipulate our monetary system to the point that we are enslaved.

Mrgone who is an ATS member told a story that is way too common now days, and I feel his pain because I have nearly ended up in his situation various times regardless of my strong work ethic and high skill set in various fields.

Stories like these prove that these bankers and their associates are living the high life while us tax payers who use their banking institutions continuously struggle to survive. I don't care if you are a high school drop out or someone who has a doctorate in their respected field, we all deserve to live free of this financial enslavement and Mrgone's story can happen to anyone.

Oh brother! I see so many people on ATS and everywhere else, mostly young people in the early stages of some type of career, just now waking up to the facts of life as it is now. The indoctrination we all have to plunge into debt is so pervasive and insidious that it’s like the air we breathe. No one thinks about it. My son got married a year ago in September and now has a mortgage and a baby the first rattle out of the box despite us preaching to him all his life about debt. His wife’s family lived that way and she’s been a big instigator of much of this. She gets a ring and his balls and he gets to work off his debt the rest of his life! I blame him for the big truck, though.

This is how the entire nation, the USA, and the developed world have gotten itself into a fix that WILL NOT END WELL!! It all depends on whether or not my son and his wife will have an income stream large enough to accommodate their debts. If he loses his job, and his employer is playing with his schedule now, they’re back to living with someone else in one or the other family and we still have his sister living with us. The whole plan of life with children is to get them grown up and living on their own so they DON’T come back unless it’s just for a visit. But that was the WWII generation’s ideal and it’s only a pipe dream now.

All of this is symptomatic of a people that have been robbed of their ability to think no farther into the future than one or two years at most - and often much less. My step dad had to virtually stand on my chest back when I went into the military in the late 70’s to accept a Visa card that had a lousy $300 credit limit! I was only to use it in an emergency but it felt like a huge millstone around my neck while I carried it until my income stream started to match something that would sustain a small debt load. All of society is based on debt and on all sides we’re encouraged to pump it up as far and fast as possible. The old concept of “keeping up with the Joneses” started in the 50’s and is now reaching its most illogical conclusion. We’re in the midst of a paradigm change that has been going on since the 80’s and many have been irreparably hurt by it. Many, many more are to come and so much sooner than most will be able to perceive.

If this is the place you find yourself in please take a deep breath and start to RE-educate yourself by frequenting websites like Urban Survival (urbansurvival.com...); Silver for the People (brotherjohnf.com...) and Jesse’s Café Americain (jessescrossroadscafe.blogspot.com...). The latter is a most cerebral place that is written by an educator who assumes you have a brain and use it. These sites are the best I can recommend and they will lead you to other good sites as well.

The problems we have with “The Powers That Be” are multi-generational and won’t go away any time soon. They have been fostered over, literally, centuries. From my perspective they are an inevitable result when a group of sentient beings get together and try to figure out what they’re going to do after they learn how to make beer. It’s been over (WELL over) 6000 years since that paradigm shift but there will always be SOMEBODY on top of the heap that has trained everyone beneath them to serve them in some manner or another. The only way to have ever evolved otherwise would be to choose some other ancestors other than the hominids and to wish for something else that is “more fair” is to keep a blind and naïve eye to these qualities in yourself.

The rest of this decade is to be a very interesting time in history. If you survive it you’ll have some very intense “street creds” for generations to come.

I've been thinking about that question alot recently. Who can police the powers that be? It seems they are generally in control of the economic and political system, and they're pushing a takeover of the last source of power and freedom, our social system. Free speech and various life choices are being demonized. We can't seem to vote them out or buy them out, but for the moment we can name them and expose who they are and what they're doing. Our Bill of Rights has been under heavy attack in recent years and is nearly circumvented.

At the same time, the left and right are provoking each other to the point where the speech is deemed "terrorist" and used to further restrict our freedoms and weaken our rights. This seems to be our last chance before we are neatly delineated into "law abiding" conformists or truth spreading terrorists.

WE are the only ones who can police the powers that be! Not by force - they have the power. Not by purchasing power - they have the money and the system that controls it. Our only chance now is to hold to the truth, stop fighting each other over "the correct political view", and expose the corrupt who propagate the racket that has us chasing each other in circles while they take our money and freedoms. Peace.

Not necessarily true - - the gold standard isn't the issue. We need to put an end to private commercial banks issuing unbacked credit. Issuing unbacked credit is nothing more than counterfeiting our nation's currency which is a hidden tax on the population that decreases our standard of living. The Republicans can talk all they want about a gold standard, but until they bar the issuance of unbacked credit, our financial mess won't change.

I dont think this is particularly helpful. I may somewhat agree but to reduce it to a soundbite sort of takes the meat out of any argument against big banks.

The problem is that banks are in the buisness of making money and they hold all the cards. You have good buisness? They can give you #ty conditions and take it. You have bad buisness? You owe them when you go broke.

Banks shouldnt be anymore in the business of doing money than currency. They should just provide the means to back up the real economy with funds. But it isnt entrepreneurs or doctors who are among the richest on the planet, but people who just move assets around. What does that tell you?

You seem to be missing the point entirely. The lack of something such as the gold standard is exactly WHY they can issue unbacked credit. It's not a matter of them counterfeiting our nation's currency. It's a matter of our nation's currency being completely meaningless and arbitrary to begin with.

And i, for one, have not heard a single Republican mention the gold standard. Where are you getting that from? They don't want the gold standard, either.

What is your solution ? Everyone is so hell bent on pointing the problems, they fail to provide a sound solution. I like guitars, tv's and computer and technology. I do not wish to live off the grid. I do agree that the current system and state of affairs is not working.

Look man, I never claimed to have solutions. It's not that simple, hundreds of years of monetary manipulation to make and ruin nations is not easily disposed of. I have a few ideas but they are works in progress and are as hopeless as any idea I have heard so far.

I don't have a solution, i like my TV and Computers and all that stuff but when I have realized lots lately and these possessions are not what fulfills a person's desire. If your Tv and guitar is all you need, good for you, I'm happy for you.

But this system that we don't like isn't going anywhere, they are a million miles ahead of us in all directions. Iceland stood up but that was Iceland they don't signify any of the world's wealth.
