Thank you for providing the link, but when I click on it I get brought to a page that has a cartoon comic and a tons of links to click on. I hate to sound lazy but could you please point out which portion of that link officially confirms what you mentioned?

I'm not doubting you it's just that I can't find what you are trying to prove.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know which link you're referring to, but here is a map of the 18 states already thinking about instituting a public banking system:

Just sayin'... Although I do agree that most everything these days is run via plastic cards tied to your bank accounts, I don't see any reason why anyone could not live cash only if they really wanted and had nothing to hide.

I use only cash, but that's mainly because out of the 5 or so bank accounts I've had in the past 10 years, I have been screwed by them every single time in some way or another. So a bank will not see a single cent from me for a while...

Those bail outs could have certainly been put to better use, such as pay off the debt's of home owners. Regrettably these bail outs were part of an agenda to steal from the poor and make the rich people more wealthy, and the real kick in the groin is that we pay interest on these bail outs, and it's our money that they borrowed!

Even worse, they got the money, and the people got no help at all. Then they started ruthless foreclosures, and ended up with the peoples homes.

So they got the money AND the property. The old double-down. This could not have worked out better for the banksters. Sickening to think about.

It doesn't have to be a choice between keeping your money under a mattress or in a bank. There's a third option...

Credit Union

They are member owned, run only to profit members, democratically controlled etc. Instead of paying out profits to shareholders in the form of dividends they invest it back in the business meaning they can offer very low rates and fees. In fact my credit union doesn't charge me any fees at all, it's just not in their interest to. And it's one member one vote regardless of how much money you have in there, though just about everybody chooses to vote down fees and rate. It's just such a complete reversal compared to a bank, I'm never going back to a bank ever again.

Simple and true, just the way I like it.

We need to regain control of our governments, and have to stop borrowing from private banks. It is also extremely dangerous to exponentially lend more money then one actually has. Yet this is what happens. This is why the US has a teen trillion dollar debt, and Canada almost has its first big T.

This is also how the west expanded at an unbelievable speed.

I don't know why anyone would want to return to the barter system, or try to compete with an existing currency. In my opinion, that would be much more difficult then politically dismembering the corrupt monster that is our current government.

This can only be done through education. The truth is, not everyone is in on this conspiracy. Many are simply unaware of the situation, even your local as well as state/provincial representatives.

It is hard for anyone to believe that the system we have been using for more than a hundred years is a global Pyramid Scheme

Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.

Do you think countries can maintain a sustainable economy with no banks what-so-ever? I also agree that the morals and reasoning of some (perhaps most, but definetly not all) bankers is questionable. But if you, someone who claims times have gotten tough, had the opportunity to turn a blind eye and reach into the depths of a stable monatery life, would you?

It's not that we need a country with no banks. It's that we need to overhaul the banking system. What we have is fractional banking taken to the absolute extreme, and fractional banking is an absolute scam.

We NEED the gold standard. I think people underestimate how important the gold standard truly was. The gold standard places limitations on a government. When currency is tied to a concrete, tangible thing such as gold, the government is limited in its spending. It can only spend what it taxes, and people will only accept so much taxation. The gold standard is, in essence, a system of checks to keep the government in line.
Without the gold standard, there are no limits. They make "money" out of nothing to fund whatever they want. Want to fight a war? Make some money. And hopefully i don't actually have to go into detail about why this is a harmful practice, i assume everybody should be aware.

There is ample evidence that the central banks have conspired to keep the value of gold down, through various methods. I could gladly provide evidence of this. By deflating the value of gold, they were increasing confidence in our make-believe currency. Alan Greenspan ADMITTED, in Congressional testimony, that central banks had been engaged in a prolonged conspiracy to drive down the value of gold and thus increase confidence in their imaginary fiat currency for many, many years. I will try to find the quotes. Governments FEAR the gold standard. It limits their power. If you were a government and the gold standard limited your spending/power, and you could hoodwink the public into buying into a currency with no tangible source of value outside from the fact that they SAY it has value, what would you do? When you can create money out of thin air, what is there to stop you from doing whatever you want to do?

There is so much to say, i don't even know how to say it all....
There are a multitude of fiat currencies that have crumbled since WWII. There are a vast number of economic experts who say that our own fiat currency will inevitably crumble in the VERY near future. In fact, most say it would have happened by now if not for the bailouts. They would also tell you that the bailouts weren't designed to actually fix anything; they were designed to allow the elite to squeeze a little bit more wealth out of a system that they knew was on the verge of collapse.
They also say we are headed for a rapid hyper-inflation. When people become aware that currency is crumbling, they try to spend everything they can to replace currency with tangible possessions. This, in turn, drives up demand for those possessions, which exacerbates the problem even more. It's a vicious cycle. If you know your currency is crumbling and everybody is buying everything up, and you need one of something, the natural instinct is to buy TWO of it, knowing that it may not be there or be affordable much longer. And it snowballs and snowballs....

In the very near future, it is going to get very, very bad. For us, that is, and for the multitude of countries whose assets are tied up in US bonds. For the rest of the world, it will be a great thing. There will be a total upheaval of global wealth. In the long run, this will be a good thing. In the short term, for residents of the US, it will be unbelievably terrible. The less money is worth, and the more things cost, the less disposable income there is. Thus, things such as the following happen: you have to spend what little money you have on food, which is suddenly more expensive. You no longer have the money necessary to make improvements or repairs to your house, or car, and they slowly crumble and become devalued. You can't afford your rent. The landlord, due to the lack of rent, likewise cannot afford repairs and such. It just gets worse and worse, each problem feeding the next.

I'm rambling, and as such i've probably made little if any sense.
I urge everybody to go to Youtube and watch a video called The Money Masters, and to track down a documentary called "The End of the Road: How Money Became Worthless." It will be well worth your time.

(sorry for the novel)

Here's an idea that I'd like some feedback on:

Set up a publicly funded non for profit bank in every single county. Each bank would be independent and there to serve only the residents in that county. Maybe every year rates could be set to balance the previous years budget deficit?

It's socialist in nature, but at the local level. Not sure if it is plausible or preferable.

Having mega banks does have some benefits, though. They have a much higher capacity for loaning and investing...

n 2004, the bank pledged $750 billion over a ten-year period for community development lending and investment. The company had delivered more than $230 billion against a ten-year commitment of $350 billion made in 1998 to provide affordable mortgage, build affordable housing, support small business and create jobs in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
From wikipedia Bank of America

Without these mega investors a lot of scientific research would have a hard time finding funds. And you might see a major decrease in millionaires. I don't think having some rich people is a bad thing.

I'm not enough of an expert in economics to completely write off corporatism, though it does carry some negativity for sure.

If you are gonna bitch about bankers, then stop putting money into your bank account(s). Nuff said.

I get the feeling you took a cheap jab and assumed your contribution would be the thread killer of the century? As you may or may not have read it is a little more involved than simply NOT depositing your money in the bank. I think wrt your "nuff said" statement - that is simplye arrogance and all things considered this site is about denying ignorance and you have failed if this was an attempt.

Now you may think i am getting all up in your grill - in fact the point i am making is that perhaps you simply need to show a little more respect when responding to others - THAT is what it is about. Whether you agree or not afford your fellow man a little common courtesy. Use it - don't use it...

However, with that out of the way - I think we are all in the same boat regardless of country! All the banks are obviously linked and how would you control someone's quality of life? ADJUST their finances to suit! There are many different banks but they all have the same modus operandi even though at face value one appears to have better offerings than the next - the means to an end is the same - it's about the elite!

Do you not use banks at all?

I live in a crappy neighborhood and would not trust my life savings to be stuffed under my mattress or even a fireproof safe.

I understand your point, but I don't exactly understand your perception of my point.

What will you do when they turn it into a cashless society? I envy you if you are able to completely get off the grid, regrettably I am not that lucky.

I use banks because you can't even get a job today unless yhou give the employer a banking transit number and an account number for them to dump you paycheck in. You can bet though...when payday comes...I take all of that money out except the monthly fee for usage...because they have tried to steal my money before and I caught them..they had to pay me back. Hell no I wouldn't trust those banks and it IS safer under your mattress if you keep your mouth shut.

Everyone who tries to change the banking notes to a gold or silver standard get's shot in the head. What really needs to happen is that all bankers who have any real clout, should be arrested and tossed in prison for the rest of their lives, because were they to be set free, their evil nature would just have them back at the helm in no time. All other bankers who were just following orders....should just look for new jobs and ANYONE who was a banker from the point the new rules were made...could NOT be a banker today. This is what we should do. Make an example of everyone and start fresh.....let's face it...it's what they do to us....make an example of us when they want something to be their way.

I see a lot of people are also missing a point of interest that is VERY important! You need to be logical and think about it a little more - yes it MAY be possible to survive with cash alone and I suppose some companies will pay yuou cash but they are FEW and FAR between I can guarantee that UNLESS you are unskilled and are happy to earn a few buks a day for your efforts! So the point?

OK - well consider that for a few months you have been paid in cash so yuo take yuor bank notes and yuo buy stuff, bread, milk, beer etc etc and all the change you get you collect because it starts to mount up. Now consider that if you were using a bank you would pay with a card, for the most part, and not worry about the change!

So now over the course of MANY months yyou have managed to save up a few hundred dollars in change and you decide you need a new computer or TV. Off you go to the store and they say they cannot accept the money - yeah you can go to the bank and ask them to change it for you.

The fact is YOU NEED THE BANK!! Coins over a certain amount are actually NOT Legal Tender! The coin itself IS legal tender BUT the total amount would exceed what is resonably acceptable in coinage!

In this day and age, yes we can argue the point for NO good reason, not using a bank will make life very difficult and this is what the elite have wagered on! They are smiling............... ALL THE WAY to the BANK!

And yes that opening post said it all. Starred and flagged.

Follow justice and justice alone. (Deuteronomy 16:19, 20)

For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice . . . . (Job 11:5,7)

Learn to do right! Seek justice . . . . (Isaiah 1:17)

So if the powerful players in the giant banks broke the laws, they must be held to account.

Fraud and Manipulation of Money

The big banks have engaged in systemic, continuous ongoing criminal fraud.

Allowing the banks to commit crime with impunity is not what Jesus would do. What would Jesus do? Turn over the tables of the money-changers. (economists agree.)

Moreover, the giant banks manipulate currency through the use of schemes such as manipulating interest rates (gaming interest rates in different regions – Libor, Eurobor, etc. – can in turn drive their currencies up or down), high frequency trading and artificially suppressing gold prices (which artificially inflates the value of fiat money) .

As Ron Paul notes, the Bible forbids altering the quality of money (which, at the time and place, was entirely in the form of coins):

Even the Bible is clear that altering the quality of money is an immoral act. We are instructed to follow the rules of “just weights and measures.” “You shall do no injustice in judgment, in measurement of length, weight, or volume. You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin” (Leviticus 19:35-36). “Diverse weights are an abomination to the LORD, and a false balance is not good” (Proverbs 20:23). The general principle can be summed as “You shall not steal.”

Proverbs 11:1 also provides:

Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is His delight.

So to the extent that the giant banks have engaged in any dishonest acts or the manipulation of currencies, they are violating scripture.

Oppression of the Poor

Finally, the Bible condemns oppression of the poor for the benefit of the affluent:

He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich, shall surely come to want. (Proverbs 22:16)

To the extent that the giant banks have oppressed the poor to increase their riches, they are violating scripture.

Due to their looting, inequality is now worse in American than in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, most Latin American banana republics … and ancient Rome.

Postscript: Not all bankers are bad people. For example, many bankers at smaller banks and credit unions are good people who are trying to help their communities. Source: markets.financialcontent.com...

The Postscript suggests people put their money into smaller banks - heck why don't people form community banks?

Anyway, the New World Order is coming along rather nicely just like Reagan, Bush and Kissinger promised.

Has to make you wonder who the people currently with power are working for?

The biggest thing that really made Jesus mad was the money changers tables - seems like that is the all time biggest rant he went on...............so all you shisters out there, you may have 70-95, even 100 years of earthly delights but there's a good chance, well eternity is a loooooooooooooooooong time.

I still believe in what goes around comes around - justice will be served big time just not in the immediate future.

Things, I feel are just warming up.
