To be fair, both the choices they've given us this election suck... We are screwed with 4 more years of Obama and we are screwed with 4-8 more years on Romney...

So what it comes down to is who will do the least amount of damage to our country next term???

Politcs in this Nation suck, our Presedential choices are typically duds who do more wrong then good, and our Congress is just as corrupted and they dont have to worry about term limits...

Lets try to get a movement to end no term limits.. House and Senate both should have 2 term max in office, then they're done...

Time to take our country back from these crooks/jackasses

I 2nd that notion

Of course not. Not all, but I can bet my house I know more secrets than you, because I'm a scientist and you are not.

Well, good for you. Don't let your scientific mind get in the way of your understanding. You might want to give your ego a thorough cleansing as well. As a Buddhist you know what to do.

Since I don't exist, how possibly can I have an ego?

At any rate, this thread is about one particular retard who hails from the state of Texas. I know many natives and residents of the said state, and they are delightfully smart people, however someone needs to keep the balance, and we have this (Potato) Head guy.

For real? Are you really going to go there?

And yes I know that this thread is about Texas. I just threw in a metaphysical concept to someone in addition to addressing his thoughts, and here you come smashing everything like a bull in a China shop. Good work!
Oh yah and nice work backing out the minute I post something completely traditional to back things up.

My brother. Please take a moment to edit your post that I am replying to before the mod's delete it. I understand pride in where you reside, it is a good thing. I have nothing but love for my fellow American's south of the Red River. There are some of the nicest people in the world living there.

Please understand why I am asking this. I can see where Southern Guardian's post really pushed your buttons, given what you perceive (i perceive them the same way) as attacks on your fine state in this thread. I think you are intelligent enough to make your points by playing the ball (the meat of Southern Guardian's post if you will) and that you don't need to attack the player. Calling someone garbage is a foul and is against the rules of decorum and manners.

You know what they say about opinions being like another part of the anatomy and that everyone has them.

Peace to you and thanks for the information that you have brought to this discussion.

Lol and by format I mean a place that isn't blocked like 99% of everything that usually is at works/schools?

I wouldn't say its bashing being a Texan native myself, more like what Texas really is.
I couldn't find another video of it, sorry =/

Thanks for the more civilized reply. Texans for the most part are nice people. We look after our own. And I did change it, I am not as worried about the rules of this site though. My post earlier describes why and calmly. @Lysergic, well I guess just the title makes it seem fishy. I am about to leave work so I will check it at home. Thanks for trying though.

Considering the amount of oil and petrochemical plants they have, as well as the amount exported through Houston, I think they would do alright. Not to mention the agricultural and beef industries.

One thing people must keep in mind, when these snobby, elitist liberals talk about the red states. They are the entire grain belt across the US (corn, wheat, soybeans, cotton), almost ALL of the oil and natural gas production in this country, as well as the meat packing industry (beef, chicken, pork etc)

What do California and New York have to offer? Liberals who think they know better than everyone else. Book smart perhaps, but just goddamn stupid when it comes to common sense.

Maybe Louisiana can go with Texas and they can rebuild the refineries and become more self-sufficient.

Refineries and other petrochemical plants are doing just fine, both in Louisiana and Texas. Just got back from Motiva, in Port Arthur, which is now the largest refinery in the western hemisphere. BASF, Chevron, Valero, Shell...they're all up and running. Not to mention the offshore rigs.

As someone who lives in the area that Tom Head has just condemned to being glassed, I feel that this was a very foolish thing to have said. The article makes it sound as though the entire Lubbock police force will be taking up arms against the POTUS.

Bad Head! Bad! No!

Why would it shock you that you are not the only person that knows whats going on? I know alot of ppl are dumb as in ignorant but its also ignorant to assume that the only ones are the ones on this site and that openly discuss it.
Now mind you Im almost sure hes got some sort of agenda but I think everyone can agree that his agenda is secondary to the main one, getting rid of tyranny.

What?

Do you think we all( I.e.>50%) of this country )think all this Cass Sunstien/Van Jones/OWS/Cloward and Pivens ; Saul Aulinsky; socialist/Marxist/ communist
liberal crap is funny?

" I'm going to fundamentally rearrange the house you were born in".

"I can't outright outlaw coal; but I sure as h*ll can regulate it so it is so expensive no one can afford it. Can't pay your "necessarily skyrocketing electricity cost"? Sucks to be you!".

"IF I had a son he'd look like "Trayvon". Or not...

And IF MY aunt had balls she'd be my uncle!

"Citizen O-bot (Outkast Searcher)" you need to broaden your associations outside the student union a bit. We will not all march arm and arm singing into that socialist utopia your "kind" envisions.

This "man" needs to be disbarred now!
I have a bad feeling that civil unrest is just around the corner. When judges start talking about taking up arms. I think the lines are being drawn. We shall see if that is the overall plan or if he is just a dissident who will never get his message heard out of the Prairie.
I'm keeping my eyes on this one, if the mainstream media blows this story up...pick a side...more than likely this will get buried by the coverage of the RNC Tampa lovefest in the middle of a hurricane. My money is on the latter. It's not quite time yet.

Let's see here the feds are buying billions of rounds of soft point ammo that are illegal under the Geneva convention, amd buying armored vehicles and your scared of one little judge in TX?

"Obama is the worst president of my life time( only 34 so not saying much)"

Obviously you have an incredibly short memory. GWB?? Patriot Act????? 2 WARS under false pretenses.
Many soldiers and 10 times as many civilians murdered due to 2 unjustifiable wars. Not to mention the debt America is in due to the war budget. Or how about Bush refusing to admit that global warming is actually
real(at least not until conveniently leaving office) which has prolonged our government doing something about this REAL problem. I could go on all day long with regards to Satan or I mean Bush.

"he has repeatedly refused to follow established law concerning many topics, has murdered 2 Americans at least by simply pointing and calling them terrorists without warrant trial or evidence presented in absentia to a court. "

1. Where is the proof of this?
2. During the Bush administration this happened all the time at GB .(innocent being locked up without being charged and not getting a fair trial)
Innocent people are still locked up without being charged with anything.
3. If it wasn't for the Patriot Act that Bush signed these kind of circumstances couldn't happen.

"He has made certain none of the thieves ( I mean big bank execs) for the crimes of theft against millions of Americans."

Now this I actually agree with but unfortunately it doesn't matter who is in office because NO government official has power over big business or "big bank execs". "Big bank execs" are the one's truly in control. Especially as long as they keep filling the pockets of Congress
The media has done an extraordinary job at shifting the blame from the guilty and making the American people fight with one another over peons like Obama/Romney. Like the two actually have any power to do anything.

please go back in time like uhh more then four years ago and do some research. You'll find that Obama can't hold a turd next to Bush. The things Obama have done are fairy farts compared to what Bush has accomplished. Look I don't like Obama either(or any politician for that matter) but please give credit where credit is due.

What is happening today is absolutely scary. The one's in the know HAVE to spread the word and educate people who aren't aware of what is going on.People have got to stop fighting with one another. We need to bring the right and left to the center and stand together and fight the system. Whatever means necessary. I believe the government is preparing for an uprising and that it's inevitable. The good news is we the people out number the government by a lot. We HAVE to remember this. Big business and government have got away with murder over greed, power and control while everyone else pays for it. People have become fed up with it.Now what are we going to do about it?

As the first poster on the buzzfeed.com story says, a better barometer of consumption is gasoline consumption. See the quote below:

This is misleading. What's shown is net oil consumption. Since Texas processes a huge amount of the oil in the Americas (over 5 million bbl/d), it's only natural that the oil incoming to Texas would be drastically more than other states. Another thing to remember is that oil does not equal gasoline. for that you should view the gasoline consumption per capita chart instead. Now you see who the biggest gluttons are. (Texas is #22)

www.buzzfeed.com...

Gasoline consumption chart: www.statemaster.com...

Therefore, I fail to see where this one factoid dooms Texas if it tries to secede. Your logic is faulty. Whatever benefit was reaped when Texas joined the union has long since faded into history. As far as I can tell, the US is like the Titanic, selling itself into oblivion to the Chinese and anybody else with money. There is nothing wrong with the thought that cutting loose from that sinking ship might be the only way to secure our future.

One thing I do know: Texas is one of the few states that has enough people who will stand up and say no UN on our soil. If it means that we have to secede, then so be it.

heh.

I used to live in Lubbock as well.

At least in Denton you also have a high amount of left wingers n independents mixed in with the regular Texas version conservatives. In lubbock its just straight conservative nuts. No diversity. Lots of mental inbreeding. Lots of stagnation of thought. It's the opposite in Denton. For Texas thats saying a lot.

Engage in stereotypes much? I suppose every single student at Texas Tech is mentally inbred, mentally stagnant, and totally right wing.

Whatever 'left-leaning' thought Denton has is due to people who come from other places, usually either the west or east coast, such as myself. Because Denton is part of the ever-sprawling DFW area, there are plenty of people there from all over the place. When I worked in Denton, my workmates were from: Buffalo, New York....Madison, Wisconsin.....Detroit, Michigan....Flagstaff, Arizona....San Diego, California......Mississippi....South Carolina......Florida.....I didn't work with one native Texan, and this was a big agency.

There are stereotypes, and then there is a more solid reality. Which do you engage in?
