Ben Swann takes a look at an effort called Dump Romney and why some conservatives are warning that Romney's Mormon faith will turn off Latino voters.

Does this actually matter? I think his devout supporters are gonna be in for shock when they realize he actually worships money rather than god.Like every other politician.

Don't let those old westerns and church settings fool you. A large percentage of Mexicans profess no belief in a divine being.

I.e. they are atheists.

Traditionally, Latino voters vote democratic.

He will not win them over period.

He never had a chance.

When you see how republicans are in AZ.

It's a turn off for all of them.

Now, if he starts talking about HIS rich family history in Mexico, maybe.

You do know AZ has a very large Mormon population.

Right?

You have clearly never worked around Mexican Americans and especially Illegal Immigrants. They are ardently religious, though you may not think so because all you would hear on TV is from Liberal Mexican Americans. If immigration status was not an issue, they would swell the Republican ranks (and are in fact a very fast growing portion of the GOP base)

In the Mexican 2010 Census only 4.7% professed being Atheist, while 92.4% professed being Christian (82.7% Roman Catholic)

Most Catholic churches have a Spanish mass now. The church I sometimes go to there is one Saturday mass, one Wednesday Mass and 2 on Sundays.

Well - - kind of depends on which ward you are in.

The one I was in had Spanish Speaking only service.

Growing up in El Paso, Texas and raised in a Mormon family I knew quite a bit of Mormons of Mexican decent. I don't think it would effect the Latin vote, although his policies are another question.
