I trust my machine to 2 people. One is me and the other is... whoops. Wrong. I trust my machine to only one person. Never give access to your machine to another person. Not even family.

LOL

you made the effort to come back and tell me it was no effort.

I dont care on a personal level and a worse case scenario with me hearing your opinion is I laugh.

Cmon dude what would you have done?

Well if you really want to know.. I would have picked up the phone.. Called my boss, Told him I would be late for work today.. ( I have been feeling under the weather today)..

Then I would have got in my car for a long drive.. The nearest "CVS" is about 15 minutes from my house.. Walked down the aisle with the aspirins.. fumble back in forth in my mind if the generic brand will work the same.. Or if I should just spend the extra damn 2$ on the Tylenol..

Eventually giving in to the bottle of Motrin with promises of fast relief.. Get back into my car.. Start to drive home, then realize my headache is suddenly gone.. Pull up to Starbucks.. order a coffee.. One Splenda, No cream.. (Be a man drink your coffee black).

Get back into my car continue home.. Hit traffic.. Instantly headache comes back.. Take Motrin.. Drink coffee.. Put on the radio.. flip through the garbage channels.. Finally throw on ipod.. shuffle through playlists eventually deciding on "the stones 40 licks" I know i'm stuck in the traffic for the long run after I see them break out the damn traffic cop..

About a hour later finally get out of traffic realizing the accident is on the other side of the damn road.. Finally make it home.. Walk in, feed the dog. Turn on the computer Reply "EFFORTLESSLY" to your post..

forget my "friend" (If i was in your shoes) "allegedly" had gay porn.. Call him and tell him to come get his laptop.. Continue on with my day.. Because honestly who cares? You said he was your friend.. So accept him for who he is..

Anyway it's not your bushiness what people do with there life's.. As long as it has no effect on you.

Its a work PC and the company is very strict about what can be accessed from the net, no facebook, no online poker, no ebay and certainly no porn so no need to worry there.

The guy who returned the DVD didnt do it out of spite he is just totally clueless, almost to the point of Asbergers clueless
Hes actually a friend of a friend and I only met him a few weeks ago, to him finding the DVD and then returning it the way he did was no big deal

You said it is DANGEROUS where you are--in Malaysia. That is a whole different spin on the matter. You're not in America where it is poliically correct to be gay or support homosexuality. This guy who gave the DVD back in the way he did put the owner at risk.
edit on 8/21/2012 by schuyler because: (no reason given)

Wash the keyboard VERY thoroughly, after that it depends on whether he's openly gay and how good of a mate he is... openly gay = hand it back, no big deal. Openly super macho = loud voice in crowded room "Hey dude, you left your men lovin' c* dvd in my laptop. Took me an hour to sterilize that shiz, next time use your own computer." and bask in the embarassment

If you're any good with photoshop you could have endless fun.
Maybe if you did that he'd be a little more discreet about what he leaves behind for everyone to see

That makes me laugh.

A couple of years ago, my mate's PC died on him because it was absolutely infested with malware. I had to get in via safe-mode and clean it up using CD-rom apps. I looked at the history to see where he'd been to get so much crap and WOW!

To this day he doesn't know that I know he looks at animated gay hentai porn. Not actual naked gay men, but actual naked gay cartoon men.

Each to their own, I s'pose.

Give it back, it's his after all.

Might be a prank, I would give it back to him. Maybe he put it in there just to see what you would do?

Ive been here so long Ive forgotten its not a big deal LOL.

To add some context, this guy is married, lives in a conservative country where technically its illegal to be gay or have porn.

So anyway what the guy who found the DVD did was bring it in to work to return it but the guy wasnt in today so he left it face up with a post it note on top saying " you left this in the PC over the weekend"

Most of the office saw it and Ill be surprised if the guy sticks around another week, its quite a big deal over here.

Me persoanlly would have just tossed it and never mentioned it unless he was totally out so to speak then I would have returned it

I am curious what country this is.....

to the rest...who gives a crap. the way your friend handled it was childish and wrong. to each their own. dont like it, dont do it.

Going from personal experience, I would be thinking the friend left it in there on purpose. It's an IT thing, but it seems to happen everywhere.

I used to get the same email every thursday from my boss. The subject was "it's thursday....." and when you open it it's a picture of the dude from chips pointing at you on a pink background with huge white text that reads "and you're gay"

It guys love to mess with each other, and being an IT guy, I find it doubtful you'd watch porn on someone elses machine, unless you truly are an addict.

I would arrange to meet the man in a coffee shop and give the disk back to him; and let him know that he will not be borrowing my computer again.

the Peter Sellers picture says "countdown to deletion at the bottom. Did you miss that? That was an answer.

give it back as though it was a film you borrowed from him.

A friend is a friend.. someone you laugh with, cry with and if he jumps off a cliff you go and save his sorry butt.

No need to say anything about the content of the dvd.

Give it back and act like you didn't watch it so you didn't know what it was.
