Surprise of the Day: Iranian Ayatollah: Avoid war with Israel

Seems like not everybody in Iran is so eager to go to war like Ahmadinejad wants to make us think.

Amid the heated debate in Israel regarding the possibility of a solo attack on Iran and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's harsh statements against the Jewish state, Ayatollah Yousef Sanei, one of the leading interpreters of Muslim law in Iran, has urged the Islamic Republic not to fan the flames of war with Israel.

If I'm understanding right, is the Ayatollah who get to decide; right now they sound like a parent forced to intervene in a kids fight. That's a big surprise.

"We must all do our best to prevent the Zionist attacks on Iran, because if they happen, Iran will be hurt greatly, even though the Zionist regime will be hurt even more."
"We should not act, God forbid, as warmongers in our country and provoke a war. The nation is currently in a special condition, and the most important task is to shut the Zionist regime up with our thoughts, pen, and correct efforts and actions," he said.

Sorry, but the "Supreme Leader" is Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In fact, if you do some research on Ayatollah Yousef Sanei, you'll find that he was demoted in 2010 for publicly declaring Iran's government as being illegitimate.

Unfortunately, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is still spouting the same garbage as President Ahmadinejad.

If one Ayatollah is willing to speak out about this madness maybe others will follow. Sometimes all it takes is one person willing to put it all on the line for others to find their courage. I hope this starts a chain reaction.

The United States will NOT ALLOW a Nuclear Armed Iran to dictate Terms on the Flow of OIL! It is more likely they will disobey SUICIDAL ORDERS and once this happens the Pro-Democracy Movement will take Control. Without the Military...the Old Guard only has their PAID THUGS which would be outnumbered by Iranian Youths.
