Negative Ion Bracelet

Hello, I have a question for you guys concerning a bracelet I recently purchased at the local fair. I realize it's probably just a really expensive placebo?? The product is called Energy Armor : Life Technology. It's a silicone bracelet that claims to contain negative ions encapsulated in the silicone material?? Anyone ever use one or have good luck with Any other -ion style product? Thanks - Diesektor

The only FDA approved study that has any claims for the benefits of ions is for the use of air filters. Any other claims are beyond the scope of any studies. Many of the bracelet companies were being sued due to false advertisement so now they won't give definite claims as to what the bracelets do because then they can be definitively tested, which means that they can be definitively debunked. So they make as broad as claims as possible (your "general health" will get better) to dodge lawsuits while relying on the gullibility of trusting people who just want to be healthier.

It does have a placebo effect...and maybe there's something to it.... Just nothing verified.

The fact that they are selling a "negative ion" bracelet indicates the company that manufactures and promotes the bracelet knows nothing about physics and less about biology.

Does the packaging refer to "quantum" processes too?

Ionic charge is used in air filtration to remove particles from the air (and clean air is generally regarded as a good thing). Ionic charge is also used in laser printers to lightly bond toner to the paper prior to fixing it permanently with heated rollers. The toner contains Chromium Dioxide which is a known carcinogen (generally regarded as a bad thing).

If you like the look and feel of silicon bracelet, sure, buy it. It shouldn't hurt you (unless it contains carcinogenic plastic softening agents).

But it won't armor you, or ionize you, or provide healing and relaxing woo woo.
