Hey fellow ATSers. I recently( past year or so) wanted to get into photography(since I cant draw, paint, play a instrument or do anything that requires artistic talent). My friends convinced me to make a video of some of my photographs decided to make a video of my photos.

Yesterday I went to start making the video slideshow, I plug in my external hard drive and it made a horrible sound then started to smell like burning plastic. So I ended up losing about 16GB of photos. Funny is I got the hard drive because I thought it would be safer then my computer

Anyway I made the video with some of the photos saved to my laptop( they are not as good as the ones i lost).
This is my first video and wanted to see what you all think. Im a total noob at photography and Ive never had any lessons so dont be too harsh
before you say it or ask, No I dont use the Auto setting on the camera

Looks good i like the dog looking at the picture of the dog. Good luck and keep up the good work if it keeps you busy and happy. I did fast forward some though as my sound doesnt work.

S&F! I totally loved it!
I am no photographer myself but it does appear that you have some talent for it.
I think you should keep it up as I am sure other folks here will agree when they see it.

Thank you for sharing it with us!

i love that dog, its the sweetest dog ever although she gets annoying cause everywhere I go shes right on my heels.

you only get half the expieriance with the sound off. the music is the best part.

Thank you so much!! That really means alot to me. when a friend or family member says that they are usually just bein nice but when complete stranger says that it really means alot. I really enjoy taking photos of animals.

I used to hunt but the last time I went hunting I was looking through the scope at this nice buck when it turned it head looked right at me and just kept staring at me. It was very strange, the way he was looking at me was like the way my dog looks at me when he knows he did something wrong. I couldnt pull the trigger, I put the rifle down, lit a smoke and called my wife and tried to explain to her what happend and the sad feeling i got from this deer. I never went hunting after that, I still go fishing every chance i get. I guess photography is my way of hunting now.

WOW! Beautiful photos!!!!!!!!! Oh, except for the spiders. They scare me.
You could sell your photos to card companies or have them put on calendars or coffee mugs or whatever.

I enjoyed your work
I can tell by you photo subjects that you have a good heart.
My wifes hard drive crashed in her laptop a couple of years ago with all kinds of family photos she had taken of the kids, vacations and stuff.
She took her laptop with the crashed hard drive to a local computer shop and they were able to recover all her photos and some (not all) of her other data.
Call around and ask you buddies. You might be able to save those other photos.

Stomping arrogant aholes in the face is 100x more rewarding. But im sure you wouldnt know since you were always on the recieving end. Im guessing you couldnt tell your neighbor about their dog because you probably mouthed off and his 13yr daughter kicked the crap outa you. so you being the big tough man you are and mustering up all your courage you decided to teach that chihuahua a lesson.

You are a brave man

You are very welcome and it was the truth. I know what you mean about family saying it though. I am like that with my writing. I know even if it's crap, they will say they love it and I love them for that, but nothing beats the feeling of having a stranger appreciate your work knowing that they don't have to be kind about it.

Thank you! I do have a big heart but im starting to think thats not a good thing. Anything bigger makes a easier target.

Thanks for that info I will get it checked out. It would be great if they could even get a quarter of my photos.

Thanks. They did, I wish I could remember what i had the settings on when I took that. I think I can get the shooting info from the Canon software.

Must agree 100%!!!!

Not only were your photos great, using a piano version of Children (which I've never heard before, Thank You!) is what got me hooked! Gonna watch again, for the fourth time!

Thanks again! S & F for you

Thank you again..Maybe you are just being cynical of yourself, they are probably telling you the truth. Its very hard for someone to decide if something they did is crap or a masterpiece since nobody is more judgmental of us then ourself. Is your writing on ATS? If so im gonna have to check it out. I like seeing peoples talents.

I think writing is one of those gifts you are born with. I could never be a writer, I dont have the imagination and patience and im not very articulate.

Thank you. I love that song Children. I knew I wanted to use that song but the originals tempo was a little to fast so I spent hours trying to find a good cover of children. If you go to the youtube link of my video in the description box I put the link of the video i got that song from.

We are indeed our own worst critics for sure. I have posted several things here writing wise. Most of it is in the rant forum.

I think we all have our own talents and you seem to have found your's. Not all of us can take pics that good, no matter how much money we spend on equipment. In the end though, doing something that makes us happy whether it is good in someone's else's eyes or not is worth every minute we spend doing it IMO!

Im always reading the rants( I get a good laugh) so I probably read some of your work

I will have to read your post tomorrow, im sure the rants will be interesting.

I totally agree. its great when we can find joy in the simpliest of things.

just a couple of weeks ago we were at the beach just sitting in the sand and my friend looks at me and ask why i have been smiling for the past 5min. I told her look at that old man with his metal detector, hes only finding garbage but the whole time that old man has the biggest smile on his face. It made me happy just watching this man having such a great time in probably the last few years of his life
