It very often isn't lanterns.
But this time it sure looks like it is and the description matches.

I don't know, it's far away and difficult to tell. I just get wound up by Gortex always shouting lanterns, he put to death my sightings when they were real and documented. I can't wait to go and get better footage to (in the nicest possible way) silence him

Op, get yourself some binoculars and keep them near you. I doubt that you will find an explanation other than lanterns. Video always seems to do no justice to what your actually seeing with your eyes. It seems to me that it's impossible to get a good video. If you are lucky enough to see something again, use your binoculars and confirm for yourself if it is or isn't a lantern.

I too have seen an unexplainable light. What I saw was not further away than a street or two. It was also quite low. I know this because it flew between me and a regular approach path for a local airport and there was a plane on that path at the same time. I saw an incredibly orange circle of light as it made a bit of a decent twords me, to the north. It was larger than any plane light. I live a little over a mile from another airport up north and they fly very low over my house all day. This light then changed direction to due east without any type of banking. The single large orange light had a blink rate much slower than is allowable for aircraft. When the light went dark there were no other lights on the object. When it changed to eastbound the light changed to blink orange than white at the same slow rate. The two lights appeared to originate from the same point. I watched it head east for less than 1 minute as it was so low that one it was more than 4 or 5 blocks away the low altitude and trees blocked my view. I made a mufon report in June of 2010. I followed up with them trying to get an answer. After my investigator checked with several specialists, it was determined that they don't know what it was. It was not a lantern that they decided for sure. It was not a remote plane cuz I can hear those from a nearby park and it was closer than the park. I have seen balloons with lightsticks in them and it sure wasn't that either. I religiously went out every night for over a year and don't think I'll ever see something like it again.

So, my point is get some binoculars and if luck is with you perhaps you can at least know for yourself if it is or isn't a lantern. Would love to hear a follow up from you if you do spot it again!

Wunderground has the wind direction between 10pm and 11:51pm as East - Calm. Another website I checked also stated winds as S-SE for 5am Aug 19th - 2012.

Calm means no surface wind so direction is sort of irrelevant but in your map showing wind direction you are showing a west wind and a northwest wind. Wind direction is the direction from which the wind is coming, not where it is going.

It looked well below the cloud line, maybe 600ft?

There is really no way to judge the altitude of a light in the sky and trying to ascertain absolute movement can be difficult. For example, a rising object can present the illusion of horizontal movement.

I don't think you can rule out a lantern and that is very much what it looks like. It sounds like one of your neighbors likes them.

My estimate on distance is just that, a estimate. The object surely wasn't 10 miles up, and it definitely wasn't 5ft from me, so it's just a ballpark range. I know it wasn't near the clouds, and it was higher than my apt, so somewhere between the 2.

I suggested that it was burning, but I don't 100% believe it was of a burning source. To me, the light seemed like it was on fire, simply because of the way the light of the object acted. It could have been a object that was 75% illuminated on 1 side, that wobbled on a off axis rotation. To me, the light didn't seem to act like lights on a airplane.

The problem is that it seems like everyone seems to know EXACTLY how a UFO is supposed to look or act, yet noone has seen ANY footage to date that clearly depicts, without a doubt, a UFO.

Ironic isn't it?

In my map I have the direction of wind as EAST, EAST SOUTH EAST, simply because a few other websites state showed winds blowing EAST SOUTH EAST

No. You have drawn a west wind and a north-northwest wind. You do not seem to understand wind directions.
www.weatherdudes.com...

It looked kinda like it was burning. At the end it seems to drift up VERY high before it slowly disappears.
Sky lanterns can rise very high. They can also appear to fade into the distance as the fuel is exhausted and the flame goes out.

Your video looks like a lantern. Your description sounds like a lantern. But maybe it wasn't a lantern.

You are right on the wind direction, after you stated it the first time I did look into that. I was always under the impression that it was the opposite, but you are correct.

However, www.wunderground.com...

Which is actually the closest weather station to the area of sighting, shows the weather data as the following

22:53 65.0 °F 56.0 °F -100.00in West 4.0mph 5.0mph
*Sighting*
23:05 65.0 °F 56.0 °F -100.00in West 2.0mph 4.0mph
23:14 65.0 °F 56.0 °F -100.00in WNW 1.0mph 4.0mph

This would suggest that the wind would be pushing at it, yet still.

So just about the only thing that could be suggested is that the weather data will have to be voided, since they all are conflicting, apparently based on location.

If its lanterns why not call it lanterns , if its a cat being chased by a dog ....
We're all looking for the same thing , just some have a higher standard of proof than others .
Its all very well pretending that something is unidentified but if it isn't ... then it isn't

I don't know, it's far away and difficult to tell. I just get wound up by Gortex always shouting lanterns,

If it looks like lanterns , acts like lanterns and the description sounds like lanterns why not call lanterns

he put to death my sightings when they were real and documented.

Perhaps you'd like to point out the real and documented sightings I put to death .

I can't wait to go and get better footage to (in the nicest possible way) silence him

Neither can I .

If your not going to actually contribute, go thread crap somewhere else.

I've noticed that hasn't anyone actually done anything useful to help. All relevant information has been provided by me, on my own, or as a result of someone who thinks they know better but doesn't.

I'm not running around saying it's a Alien from NIBIRU coming to warn us, for all I know it could be ball lighting, or reflections from the moon. I just know that the evidence thus far shows that it's not LIKELY a Chinese lantern.

So please don't try to say what someone is trying to pass off, because every other post you've made in this thread has been a video of Chinese lanterns , as if somehow you believe , that posting more than 1 video of will change someone's mind.

That sure seems like someone trying to pass off something to me.

Anyways, I've written up a handful of Freedom of Info requests that I'll be dropping off tomorrow, since this is exactly why you can't rely on other people to do things right

Nice thought out posting OP. All the info one could want I do believe. I know if there are UFO`s to be captured I`d want someone like you doing it.

Even fast to grab some video. Just wish it was closer.

I`m not going to say lantern because I don`t know that for sure. But I do know those fireworks that are not supposed to be set off in Ohio most definitely are set off in Ohio.
They can make some pretty stupid laws if you ask me.

Op, I admire that you are taking so many steps to find facts to rule out or confirm any known things. Let us know what you learn.
