Have you read Stanton Friedmans book Crash at Corona ?

I think it's in the top 2 of books.

Alien Contact by Timothy Good is #1.

To my mind Stanton Friedman is one of the least credible researchers. Ive seen him in videos trying to say what were clearly Chinese lanterns were UFO's.

He seems to go between what seems like very objective investigations to making all sorts of wild claims and assumptions when he need a pay cheque. I think he is very clever in the way he puts himself across as being credible while at the same time tends to make up all sorts of wild claims when he needs to.

Lets face it the guy make a living from trying to tell us UFO's are visiting aliens.

Nevermind, I new it would be a waste of time.
The fact is it doesn't matter who you say. Someone here will always find a way to discredit them with the most petty of arguments. The ridiculous claim that if someone makes money from researching UFO's they are no longer credible is moronic. In the same vain you could say any band that tours and makes money must write bad music.

If you want a comprehensive list of people who are worth checking out and who to avoid. You might want to look through the following scrapbook.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

However if you don't want to have to download the whole thing. Here's a short-list of people who are worth investigating:

Good luck!

Nick Pope has become nothing more than a talking head, who crops up on every damned show to peddle his agenda, which is, Nick Pope. For a start, anyone with a genuine interest in the subject would have made absolutely sure they had a copy of the photograph of the object and the Harrier taken in Scotland and they would have made sure they squirrelled away the Woomera tape before it went missing. Then, when the MOD said, as everyone said they would, "Oh, we've lost it" Pope could then have said, "Oh no, I made sure it was safe by placing it in x".

How anyone can really rate the bloke when, the very evidence virtually every British Ufologist wanted to see, went missing on his watch, I will never know.

As for ex military personnel coming forward. There's a slight difference here, anyone who has done any "serious" research has faced a similar problem. They do talk, they talk loads however, it's nearly always "off the record" and I bet there's hardly a researcher how hasn't had someone tell them one thing to deny it later and often deny having ever talked to the person who is claiming it. There is strong evidence that, some cases were talked up by "insiders" at the behest of the military when they knew there was a simple prosaic explanation all along. You don't need to be a genius to work out quite why. The more public your profile as an investigator becomes, the more likely you are to spend maybe, months chasing up what seems to be a great "story" only to find that, the moment you try and collate it all and present the evidence, the whole thing vanishes like the mirage it always was.

Given my own experience I would guess it is pretty typical. You spend months working on a project and someone takes an interest in making it into a book or a TV show then, as everything seems to be falling into place to make it genuinely worthwhile, a crucial piece of the jigsaw goes missing. Now, I'm sure given how fame works, several people have gone ahead with shows/books, because of the pressure of the people behind them, despite losing and a crucial part of the evidence.

It's a paradox, the better known you become for being a good researcher, the more hoaxers, nutters, disinfo agents you attract and the less likely that people with real tales to tell, from within the military machine, will tell them you.

As it the subject stands right now, you can only ever really rely on your own experience. Yes, loads of great books around worth reading, some great research, others just great fun however, realising it is about your own personal take on it is important. You'll often garner far more knowledge of true interest, from just listening to conversations and being open to others. People who snort loudly and talk about the whole subject as just "hogwash" deny themselves evidence, pretty much their whole life's as simply, people have no reason to take them aside and use that immortal phrase "I've never told anyone else this, not even my family however..."
