Yes, the money will completely disappear. Not poof mind you. It will disappear to those markets overseas who manufacture and sell to the U.S. until there is no more money. Go into any store. Almost all of those products are made overseas. The money that purchased those items for the store went overseas. Eventually, the money supply ends (unless of course you borrow it or print it.) Otherwise it results in bankrupty of the cities (see California) and then the national government.

The minimum wage is artificial. In a capitalistic society, wages are set by demand for workers. When the factories are closed, workers will work for less. When things are running well, workers have options on where to work. Supply of the work force is determined by the wages offered and the economy. Not by government. Many businesses are now closed that were doing well. They cannot afford to pay the minimum wage. Now that Obama Care is being enacted, more businesses will close. More factories will lay off. Less people will have work. Less workers means less money circulating in the economy. Unless of course, you tax the people offereing the work out of profit which means they will leave and manufacture elsewhere.

Your ideals are sound. Your solution is in error.

It's unfortunate that there are no other viable candidates. Paul will never be elected. He only serves to split the vote so there is no clear mandate.

The country is dead in the water. Has been for years.

Please show me where I said any "unfounded accusations".

We accept all points of view. If you don't like what is being said. Add your own comments.

Also, I have been around long enough to be tolerant of all opinions...

The EC is what prevents the left wing costal states from dominating the election.

If Gore won his home state (by not being a gun banner) he would have been president.

China is moving to free markets, and one day there will have to be political reform or they will face revolution and civil war.

At least show up and vote a third party candidate for President and the GOP for Congress. Not voting is basically saying "I have no problem with Obama"

There is no federal law or Constitutional provision ensuring that the Electoral voters have to vote with the Popular vote. I think it would suprise most people to learn that Russian voters have a more direct influence on their politicians than we do here in the United States.

Additionally, as both a patriot and a veteran, this nation is crumbling as a republic, and becoming less and less democratic with each passing administration, however, our failures as a global influence have been most detrimental. Unfortunately, our children and grand-children will bear the brunt of our misdeeds.

Faithless electors are highly unusual, and never enough to affect the election outcome. The closest it ever got was in 1968 but wallace didn't win enough states, Nixon still got a majority.

Russia has massive election fraud, and the opposition parties are all fronts for Putin to claim there is an opposition.

The nation was never intended to be democratic, I personally believe that voting should be restricted to those paying net federal income tax, which would disenfranchise most of the left's base.

That's because this is a Republic...

Most would argue the very poor are already disenfranchised.

Or just declare the rest "one-third human"?

Voter ID is not a poll tax and not required in most states yet.

No taxation without representation, and no representation without taxation.

Don't pay federal income tax, you should not vote for Congress.

Either fix the tax system to flat tax everyone, or stop the reckless idea that people can have no skin in the game so they can sell their votes for socialism.

Russia has massive election fraud, and the opposition parties are all fronts for Putin to claim there is an opposition.

Like many countries across the globe, the United States and Russia have significant issues when it comes to voting. Both Russia and the U.S. have unique voting problems, of that, there is no doubt. Putin has developed an-almost thug-like reputation, similar to that of a mobster; more strong-man than politician.

Back to the U.S....the United States has had so Epic Fails when it comes to voting that its history reads more like comedy than reality. Let's remember the concept of Equal Rights did not exist in this country. (hell, it barely does today) A great example demonstrating this has to be passage of Amendments 14 and 15, regarding citizenship and voting rights of Black Americans (males, of course). While the passage of these amendments ultimately granted additional rights, it is unfortunate there was a need for such legislative action. The 14th Amendment granted citizenship to former slaves, changing their citizenship status from 3/5 to a whole person. Can you imagine, being told you are only 3/5 of a whole person! Absolutely astounding. I wonder how slave "owners" would react to slaves telling their "masters" they can only work 3/5 of a whole day, or that they might enjoy taking 3/5 of an entire weekend to spend with their family, etc, etc. I think its an easy point to make...

I kinda hope Romney does get elected, not because I like him, or his stance on almost anything, or his voting record, or his treatment of people and animals; because I want the people who vote for him, who say he will do all this great stuff to see how wrong they are.

I want them to publicly apologize for saying he would change things and create jobs.

I want them to remember that they were on here yelling that the sky was falling, and only super Romney could hold it up.

Just like all those prediction threads, I am marking down names, and I want you guys to remember.
They should be forced to step up or gtfo.

( I am not an Obama supporter)

The northern (non-slave) states wanted to not count the slaves at all, the southern slave states wanted to count them the same as non-slaves.

3/5ths is not as evil as the revisionists make it seem because the anti-slavery people didn't want to count the slaves at all.

The minutia of the pedantics is irrevelant to the actual point of these posts. Not that I wouldn't love to engage in a historical volley of When Harry met Sally, this isn't really a discussion about civil liberties, equal rights, or tit-for-tat, but more of the unjustice-for-all, committed by the government and politicians during the early development of this nation. As an American, a patriot, and a veteran, it pains me to observe that we've grown into a nation that oppresses its citizens. In actuality, our roots as a nation have been stained in blood on too numerous an occasion to mention.

Continuing the path laid out before us by previous, current, and upcoming Administrations, gives me a moment to pause and give a heavy sigh. Without real, or revolutionary change, this nation, its ideals, and all of us will run aground, taking the American Dream with it.
