UFO means unidentified flying object....

A UFO to an air traffic controller could be ANY NUMBER OF THINGS .... it does not mean automatically that it is an alien flying an interplanetary/interdimensional craft ..=)

It simply means they spotted an unidentified object.. a big shiny balloon would qualify ... and they "Don't perform to normal traffic patterns."

Always good to play these utterances down by those in positions of "know-how " ,yes the UFO terminology can relate to a number of things as you mentioned BUT until all of these possibilities are subjected to real scientific investigation's,(Dr James E MacDonald springs to mind here with his belief in the what he termed "the inadequate scientific investigation's of the UFOs"), and until all UFO reports can be identified and proven to be then alien interplanetary craft REMAIN a possibility and stay in contention.

What about those radar returns that show unexplained technical abilities of a given radar return like sudden acceleration, stop, then shoot of the radar screen.

Nice find. What I find particularly interesting in this clip is the reaction of all involved immediately after the question is asked. It speaks volumes about the sociological side of this subject.

Yes i agree with the sociological perceptions by individuals of most professions that the UFO situation is one to avoid. Looks like the ridiculing by Blue Book and the USAF has been a long lasting success.

One knows it to be a cold war era deception plan
The use of air released particles either by a conventional aircraft or stealth aircraft
There were/are a number of applications and 'mixes'
One being a chaf style dispersal designed for large area radar denial or 'spoofing'
Either creating traditional radar disruption - like traditional chaf or through another 'mix' creating persistent false radar signals in order to draw attention away from a main airborne attacking force - A DECOY

Another - and this is where it all goes blue beamish

Dispersal of another 'mix' that would indeed allow for holographic projection, again another decoy to draw attention from a attacking force

This was in development since the late '70's during the cold war

Imagine 6-8 stealth drones/drones/aircraft saturating an area of sky with particles that firstly create a false signal of 200 aircraft approaching eastern Europe/Russia combined with 'visual' conformation of the holograms
While the REAL attacking force comes from the south/NW
This was infact recently tested over Europe ( germany if memory serves ) in a joint exercise - the outcomes I'm unaware of

Ok now I think if I remember right this was actually touched on in a recent documentary
Future dogfights ? Dogfights of tommorow? 21st century dogfights ? Something like that - but right at the end a nice 10 min section on this very subject - minus the blue beam chemtrail talk

No aliens - no space ships - just a new spin on an old trick

Does that answer ones question ?

Edit - I must add I'm no scientist or radar specialist so some terminology may be inaccurate
And I tend to keep this kinda info to myself ( especially in the blue beam / chemtrail threads ) as no one listens lol hell its not as sexy as aliens and NWO ..........let's face it people can be blinker'd by their beliefs

However I wouldn't put it past em to use this tech in more nefarious projects

Edit
It would be future dogfights or dogfights of the future - a hitory channel program ( yeah i know but just so you can see what i mean ) all availible on you tube - soz but can't post links at the mo ( I think this is the documentary as all I can see is the thumbnail - but looks like the one )

I am an air traffic controller, and yes we deal with many UFOs a month... However, UFO means the literal sense of UFO unidentified radar blip; a radar anomaly, an aircraft without a valid transponder not in radio contact, I heavy flight of geese, and a solar flare can create a UFO for an air traffic controller, as can any radar jammers.

Yeah -- It seems some people on this thread are jumping to conclusions and having knee-jerk reactions over the idea that there are objects that "don't perform to normal traffic patterns."

My first question to this guy being interviewed (prior to jumping to conclusions) would be "what do you mean by 'don't perform to normal traffic patterns', and what potential explanations do you have for these objects". Maybe the interviewers asked those questions (or maybe not), but we can't tell without the whole interview.

Depending on what he meant by objects that "don't perform to normal traffic patterns", I would say that one not-normal radar contact per month sounds reasonable -- and could very well be mundane.

Many know that, one day, NORAD persons said something like:

"We often see pesky little visitors on our screens". . .
talking about "targets" moving from one ring to the other,
in ONE turn of the rotating line in the screen.

I don't remember the distance between the rings, BUT, that
distance CAN NOT be done by our current flying vehicules.

Blue skies.

The technology for radar spoofing is well beyond chaff. There are active devices available for decades now (read about digital RF memory), and apparently with modern DSP you can do some amazing things.

Civilian air traffic radar would be dead simple to fake, as it isn't designed to be resistant against military countermeasures.

military, and civilian ATC is the same thing with their respect to equipment, rules, and SOPs (with the exception of TACtical whereas equipment is minimal) . furthermore, chaff, and radar jamming show up differently on a radar.

Ok.
I flew for a major us airline for some years, then air india and now a scandinavian airline.

Always nice to talk to people from the other side of the microphone.

Richard Deakin looks like a very credible source.

Richard is CEO of NATS, which provides air traffic control services to aircraft flying in UK airspace and over the eastern part of the North Atlantic. During 2010, NATS handled some 2.1 million flights carrying around 200 million passengers, in addition to carrying out advanced research and development and providing world-class training for air traffic controllers and engineers.
Richard began his career as an apprentice at BAE Systems in Kingston, followed by other roles with leading aerospace companies. He joined Thales UK in 2004 as Managing Director of the Aerospace Division, and was responsible for the £700 million Watchkeeper Unmanned Air Vehicle programme for the UK armed forces, along with a wide range of other high tech programmes, including satellite communications and radar systems. As Senior Vice President of Thales' Air Systems Division until 2010, he was responsible for over 7,000 employees around the world and a turnover of £1.5bn.

Neither do UFO's

You would have thought a super advance ATC system could "by now" tell the difference with all sorts of terrestrial air traffic, including hundreds of year old technology sucH as hot air balloons, these things are tracked and report simply because they are a HAZARD to air traffic,

1 A MONTH?

This means the odds of having a collision with one over many years are EXTREMELY HIGH, which has never ever happened, so logic tells me these UFO are not terrestrial ... it would certainly be of MASSIVE concern to every country's airspace on the planet with increasing air traffic if people was flying around the skys unannounced

This tells you that there is certainly something strange going on, and with the billions of eye witness accounts of UFO's we know they exist, secret government projects? that many world wide? HIGHLY UNLIKELY

Just so everyone realizes that just means that once a month they have something show up on radar that they can't identify.

Does NOT mean it is an alien spacecraft full of little green men.

You all know this right?
