The eagerly-awaited winners of the 2012 National Geographic Photo Contest have been revealed.

Eleven stunning pictures have been chosen from the more than 12,000 entries.

Oh my stars that's too incredible to be real! Thank you sooooo much for posting this pic.

Now, if I could only get the proper aromatic bouquet to go with that pic, I would sleep throughout the night. I'm thinking passion fruit, lotus flowers and a hint of dragon fruit...Yum.

Wow at first I thought that was an interpretation of the synapses in the brain, that is amazing.
