Loud bang & passenger plane being escorted

Don't know if this is the right place to post this.(If it's not, mods please move it)
I am in the east of the Netherlands (area of Zwolle) I have heard F-16 jets flying over. Then I heard a very loud bang,(could be the F-16 flying)
Then I have received a call from a friend who works in the South of Zwolle who has seen F-16 escorting a passenger plane.
I havn't seen anything on the news about it yet. Would anyone know anything, or have you heard some news?
Maybe we just have to wait.

I thought the Chicago bound flight would have landed in Chicago by now. Anyway, if it's something significant, I'm sure it will be reported in the news.

Please read the update on the story. The flight has not been diverted and it is believed to be a hoax at this time.

When did this happen?
Because last week, F-16's had to fly supersonic to intercept an unidentified military aircraft on-route to Norway. That was on the news.
