I'm seething right now.

I'm not naive, but how dare they! My great grandfather fought as a Marine in a war that was started bon false pretenses, killing 1,000+ people in the process. (WWI, I can't recall the boats name I'm too tired) then my grandfather fought in WWII, came back and graduated with a 4.0 from Yale. Later he very privately wondered if Pearl Harbor was an inside job, and especially after Nixon seemed to have a sadness about the direction the country was moving in, lies. Before he died in 2009 (bless him) he said he was ready to go, and grimly stated he did not understand the world anymore. (he died mentally fit.) My grandmother also predicted the whole banking situation, and we used to think she was just messed up from growing up in the Great Depression. "It could never happen again, they made laws to fix it!" alright She's still alive, and I guess it's good she pinched pennies when she didn't even need to. funny how we ridicule the elderly but as I get older...
My cousin came back early from his tour with his Marines. He is deaf in one ear, will need to have a knee replacement when he's 30 (they won't do it sooner) and had some horrible PTSD type issues when he came back. His best friend was worse.
Now, my ex-boyfriend and first love whom I no longer speak to and my favorite cousin are both in active duty, as far as I know safe (thank God), except that my ex may be getting some nasty doses of radiation around Japan who knows.

And, come on, half these guys wouldn't join up if the economy wasn't so horrible! it's almost like a draft in some cases. My cousin was messing around in college and my ex was working a job he hated but they both can't wait to get back in school.


SO, how dare they send our men and women to violence they couldn't have imagined and bring them back where they then have to try and fit in a world they can no longer see the same way. HOW DARE THEY tarnish the image of the American veteran and put this out as a public warning! SICK SICK SICK I'm sorry sometimes you can only take so much without losing it on a personal basis. How do they sleep at night?

For some reason I think the majority of American people, even though we know PTSD can make people do terrible things (or, yes maybe lead them to bad doctors. Big Pharma is up there with the Fed on moral ground, maybe lower.)

anyway, I think most people would be angry at the government and start being suspicious, because if you believe we need to fight this war, you support the troops right? If you don't believe we need to fight this war, you obviously know the gov had ulterior motives. Or you can pop a Soma and just not care.

He has NO compassion towards the troops. Define "alot" and "nuts"

As from my experience (being a vet, and knowing many others, before during and after service) your summation is flat out disrespectful and wrong. Do you even know any vets? Or are you just implying what you heard on msn? Sure there are some with emotional trauma from their service, it takes it tole on people, maybe try thanking them for the sacrifice, instead of trying to make them sound "crazy", they did it for you, and they have never even met you. Also it would be far less of a problem if they weren't intentionally over working so many, in vietnam you did ONE tour before you went home for good, unless you specifically signed back up for another, my generation gets deployed for 18 months, than home for less than 9 than back out again for another 18. This is just rediculous, they are intentionally running some of us to the breaking point, and then acting like there was somthing wrong with them for breaking.

Most soldiers, being the people they are, when they can't take the dreams, or the meds, or how their wife left them because they weren't home, remove themselves, and only themselves from this world. More soldiers have died of suicide, than combat in the last few years.

well, if you know any Vets, id say id have to agree.

HS has its work cut out for em. I wouldnt want to be on a Vets bad side-- EVER!

Do you ever hear these guys when they talk about current events? It scares ME! and their on the good side!

All ex- military, weapons/detonations specialists, yeah, pretty much--the Veterans of the Country are feared by the Gov because they are so bad ass. and VERY VERY PISSED right now.

It's a wondrous yet nauseating predicament that humans can get so worked up over phantoms while ignoring other very real and much more likely threats to their well being.

How many soccer moms paranoid that al-quaida will get their kids have backyard pools? How many patriotic grunting Americans support bombing villages with drones but drive tired and angry to work each day while trying to eat a doughnut and drink a coffee?

Mitchell ordered the police to remove the Bonus Army veterans from their camp. When the veterans moved back into it, they rushed two policemen trapped on the second floor of a building. William Hushka (1895–1932) was an immigrant to the United States from Lithuania. When told of the shootings, President Hoover ordered the army to evict the Bonus Army from Washington.

At 4:45 p.m., commanded by Gen. Douglas MacArthur, the 12th Infantry Regiment, Fort Howard, Maryland, and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, supported by six battle tanks commanded by Maj. George S. Patton, formed in Pennsylvania Avenue while thousands of civil service employees left work to line the street and watch. The Bonus Marchers, believing the troops were marching in their honor, cheered the troops until Patton ordered the cavalry to charge them—an action which prompted the spectators to yell, "Shame! Shame!" Shacks that members of the Bonus Army erected on the Anacostia Flats burning after the confrontation with the military. After the cavalry charged, the infantry, with fixed bayonets and adamsite gas, an arsenical vomiting agent, entered the camps, evicting veterans, families, and camp followers. The veterans fled across the Anacostia River to their largest camp and President Hoover ordered the assault stopped. However Gen. MacArthur, feeling the Bonus March was a Communist attempt to overthrow the U.S. government, ignored the President and ordered a new attack. Fifty-five veterans were injured and 135 arrested.[11] A veteran's wife miscarried. When 12-week-old Bernard Myers died in the hospital after being caught in the tear gas attack, a government investigation reported he died of enteritis, while a hospital spokesman said the tear gas "didn't do it any good."[15]

During the military operation, Major Dwight D. Eisenhower, later President of the United States, served as one of MacArthur's junior aides.[16] Believing it wrong for the Army's highest-ranking officer to lead an action against fellow American war veterans, he strongly advised MacArthur against taking any public role: "I told that dumb son-of-a-bitch not to go down there," he said later. "I told him it was no place for the Chief of Staff."[17] Despite his misgivings, Eisenhower later wrote the Army's official incident report which endorsed MacArthur's conduct.[18]

wait, are you saying its not wise for veterans to organize a show of force against the de facto govt because they may die?

if so, im glad many many many other people would risk their lives for what they believe in when you would not.

if not, whom should we go to when corruption begins to actually kill people in the streets? the cops?

under the current circumstances, death would be a better exercise in freedom than living with whats coming should the people do nothing.

Do you know any veterans minus your cousin? Your cousin is just one of thousands that are out there everyday. To me it looks as if the propaganda is working with you. This is why we are all so angry about this. We are not all crazy. We are mostly productive members of society with the exception of a few. Sure, some have mental health issues but that does not mean they are terrorists. They are going to make vets disregard treatment because they may end up labeled as a terrorist just for seeking help. I know quite a few that will not go to treatment anymore because of this issue, including me.

Homeland Security actually harassed me and my family for a while because of my veteran status. When I was deployed over seas once and I met this Danish chic and was just crazy about her. Soon after I got back from that deployment, I got out of the military. I would call her and email her and made countless trips to Denmark. They actually broke into a few of my phone calls with her and asked us questions. Called almost everyone in my family and asked about our relationship and why I travel back and forth from the US and Denmark so frequently. They let me know they would monitor my calls and emails and such because of my time in the military and my "suspicious" traveling habits. Quite annoying.

I know i'm leading a bit off-topic, but that's really interesting. Perhaps, though, it had more to do with your Dane dame than you...

I'm all for that too. Imagine how many of us are out there and if we were all in the same place at once. A movement like that could not be ignored. I say during the November elections veterans should boycott the elections and march on D.C instead. Now that would be a statement.

Putting up with state-sponsored terrorism goes way beyond annoying.

We are being hammered by this psychopathic "government" today because those that came before us failed to fulfill their oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies -- foreign and domestic. We have been left holding the bag.

The $64 question before us now is: What comes next?
